I used to genuinely enjoy this place and ordered weekly because the food was always delicious…read more Unfortunately, my last experience was extremely disappointing. The quesadillas were overly greasy, and the carne asada was almost entirely fat with barely any actual meat. We ended up throwing away the entire order, which was around $70. What's disappointing is that this was the first bad experience we had after many good orders. I stopped ordering for weeks, but decided to give the place another chance today. I politely mentioned what happened previously, not to ask for a refund or discount, but simply as constructive feedback so the business could improve. Instead of hearing me out or apologizing, they became offended and told me to order elsewhere. That response says a lot about the difference between simply selling food and actually knowing how to run a successful business. Customer feedback even negative feedback is valuable when handled professionally. Accountability and customer service matter just as much as the food itself, and unfortunately this place falls short in both areas.

If it gets busy, please be patient and kind--there are only two people running the truck, and they're doing an amazing job (están haciendo un trabajo increíble). I ordered the brisket tacos (tacos de brisket / pecho de res) with a crispy tortilla (tortilla crujiente) and carne asada--so good. They also offer salsas for an extra $0.50. The owner is incredibly kind (muy amable), and his wife does all the cooking (ella cocina todo)--she's really talented (cocina riquísimo). Seeing him give food to a homeless man and his dog truly warmed my heart. Amazing food, great people. ¡Definitivamente regresaré!

There was plenty of seating inside and out but I also went in the middle of the afternoon. I'm sure seating may be difficult during rush hour here. Don't be discouraged if you see a long line, the service is fast. Expect to spend $15-$20ish a plate. The only things I didn't like were the sides when bought separately. I got a side of mac salad and there was barely any. I got more in the actual plate. If I had to get a side again, it would probably be a musubi since there's no way they can skimp out on that.

I only began eating Hawaiian street food and flavors about 10 years ago, and even in Honolulu, the North Shore or in Hilo, I have never had such amazing Hawaiian fare. The lace is true to the Hawaiian feel with posters and stickers and great Hawaiian decor everywhere. And even on the busiest days I have been there I have never waited longer than 10 minutes. I meant to review them leaving now my last trip here, but never got to it, but what I can say is the apriete of fresh fish, Korean short ribs, katsu ahi, shout ahi poke, Mac salad, Kim chee , nothing disappoints. So much flavor, so fresh, so perfect. Grab some spam masubi or shrimp lolli for a snack, or da roots plate or da mento f*ckin bento for a full meal and treat yourself to the islands. ALEAYS worth the stop!

Every side dish we tried was just as delicious as the main course. Best of all, the portions are generous and reasonably priced. Cons - Mac and cheese too mushy, Cole slaw under dressed, Sweet Lou's pulled pork and brisket sandwich was very light on the pork and the brisket was one super hard end bit. We like the idea of having a local independent bbq place nearby and we will definitely be back. Me for the kielbasa again and I want to try the cornbread and beans. My husband really liked the spare ribs and brisket sandwich. He said it made all the difference that the brisket was sliced, not chopped. I had a bite of his potato salad and it was really good too. I liked the kielbasa and it was great that a bbq place didn't only have hot links. Service was friendly and fast. They've only been open about a year and it's nice that people are finding it. You can order To Go or they have a few tables outside (no shade) or on the back patio with umbrellas. Open Wednesday through Saturday, no phone orders.
