I stopped by this bakery place today after going to Vons in the same plaza. I basically wanted a light snack and was hoping for a bagel. When I walked inside, there was no one else there so I first look at their cakes on display. Then I saw some pastries and blueberries. They have their menu cycling through on the TV and I saw a blueberry muffin. I didn't see any bagel and that's when a lady working in the back came outside to ask me if I know what I wanted. I went with their blueberry muffin and then asked about their m&m cookies. She said they charge per pound on the cookies so I stuck with just the blueberries muffin. I ate my muffin inside of the place, they had about like 3 or 4 tables for people to sit. I thought the muffin was good, I usually don't eat muffin but I was happy with my order. Came in for a quick business meeting, had coffee and was going to skip on the desserts until.....the Napoleon pastry caught my eye. The crisp and thin layers of pastry with the not too sweet cream was absolutely one of the best I've had. You need to try it! I came in for my daughter's birthday cake order and it's sad to say this place has changed so much drastically. prices have gone up tremendously and I understand that this economy is only going up but the way they went about it was very disappointing I have been coming here for the last 15 years. You can tell is it not the same business from the customer service to the change and prices. I love change but this is not the same delicious bakery I grew up with. Just leaving a review to share my very quick impression of the shop. I ate lunch in the same shopping center and thought to stop by here for a little dessert (I got the brownie). I honestly think I picked the wrong item, everything else looked amazing and well made, but the brownie was a little dry. The frosting kept it moist, but I was only able to eat half of it because it crumbled easily. The young lady working barely spoke English and tried to help, which I appreciated. What a disappointing experience. Forewarning: I'm writing this review while still angry about what happened. I researched this bakery multiple times prior to going in. When I finally decided to purchase something, there was a lot of confusion about my order. I was charged three separate times for five items: some cookies, a lemon bar, a cake slice, and two brownies. The cost of the cookies and cake slice wasn't clear online but the brownie and lemon bar were listed as $2.16 each. In person, one brownie was $4.16 and one lemon bar was $4.66. My order total was $22.01. Due to the separate transactions, I didn't realize the massive cost difference until I was almost to my car. When I did, I googled the bakery one more time to make sure I didn't misread the prices. I didn't. I turned around, went back in, and waited in line again to speak with the worker. When we spoke, she told me that all prices had increased due to the bakery's remodel and the websites haven't been updated yet. I'm just so disappointed. I could have placed my order on UberEats and been charged half what I was charged in person. I understand the cashier's explanation but that doesn't take away from how frustrated I am. I haven't even tried the food yet. If it's good, I'll modify this review to reflect three stars. For now, they get two stars: the bakery DID look very nice inside--the remodel was a success--and the worker was kind and patient despite all of the confusion. read more

I've been coming here since I was 5 years old! They still have the smaller version of the large round sprinkle cookie I would order! The rye bread tastes very close to like it did in the '70's . The ambience was as jolting as it was on my first visit, even though I was prepared for it this time. All the new, harsh lighting cheapens the place that I used to love. This time I asked for Challah again, and a couple of different pastries. I don't know how they can claim they are using the same recipes that the old management used. My order didn't taste anything like the days of old. The products not only tasted like cardboard, but they were stale like they had been around for a while. Also, I asked for the discount offered in the reply to my original review. Refused. The girl behind the counter said they have no way of knowing if I am really the one who posted. Really? REALLY? Delicious originally received two stars because the counter girl was nice. Now they go down to one. I'm not crazy about going to an industrial bakery like Porto's. So disappointed this time around with our whole experience here. For our son's graduation we wanted to get him an amazing cake, we bought our wedding cake from here years before and it was amazing so we of course came back for his graduation cake. 1st irritation- called to order cake and the gentleman said it would be easier to come in and order.. no worries. 2 days later drove to the valley to order and brought pictures like he said. We get there and the young lady was telling me that they can do it by email. I explained what the man told us and she said that's the owner he thinks everything is ok. I showed her what we wanted and she messaged someone the pictures and gave me a quote of $90 and I paid half of it right then. She also asked me to email the pics and description to a certain email. Did that right then. 4 days later I get a call from the bakery if we even want the cake still that they have no email or anything. Even though the girl had the picture and description and so did the person that she texted that day and the order form she filled out when I was there. I was told she no longer works there and that she gave me an email that no longer works. So I did all the email again. Day of party. The green was the ugliest green they could have picked. Looked like bad avocado. Congratulations was written with no s on the end. The writing looked like a kindergartener wrote it And... I had already paid half and was charged $90 that day as the balance!!!! $90 is what I was quoted for the whole cake. I would never ever use this bakery if you need something important. We had people comment on how terrible the cake looked. In short charged more than quoted and cake looked terrible. read more

I used to love this bakery. They made my wedding cake. Today is my bday. I ordered a cake and prepaid a deposit days ago. It was supposed to be ready at 7:30am. I came I. Around 10am. The worker quickly found my order and receipt for deposit but couldn't find the cake. She called the baker/owner who indicated she didn't make the cake. It was so disappointing. Worst off, they offered nothing in exchange to make it right. The worker simply offered "sorry." Thats ridiculous and horrible customer service. I will never patronize this store again. It's pretty unfortunate since there are many posts online where I have previously recommended this place. It's truly appalling how little they cared. read more

How am I just now reviewing Delicious Bakery? Maybe because I consider it one of the best bakeries in the Triad so I feel others do too as well. I've gotten so many cakes over the years and other tasty treats from Delicious, including cupcakes (most flavors), cookies, cakes by the slice, tiramisu, birthday cakes, pastries, brownies, bars and last but not least, even my wedding cake!! Still I'm shock that I'm just now reviewing. I've never had anything I don't like. Really, it's all good. It just depends on what you have a craving for. I spotted the bread pudding last time and haven't tried that so that's the plan for my next visit. They put out some very creative and lovely cakes and I was so pleased with the birthday cake they created for my dad, adoringly known as "Pappy" by my two toddlers. Their service is consistent. I wouldn't use the word "bubbly" but they are always busy and handle each customer well. There are plenty of places to sit and enjoy a coffee and a treat, both inside and out. Hamest did a fantastic job with my son's rainbow themed birthday cake! When I went to place the order, she took the time to recommend flavors and designs. She was kind enough to let us taste a few samples. The cake turned out exactly how I wanted and more. It was moist, fresh, and delicious!
