I have…read morefostered dogs for several local and non-local rescue groups including Valley Dogs, but what strikes me most about Valley Dogs is the animals they choose to pull from the shelters. Valley Dogs is run by a man named Michael West. From what I've observed, Michael chooses to take on the dogs that need the most help medically - the dogs hit by cars, obese owner surrenders, pregnant owner surrenders, older dogs with big hearts (figuratively) and medical conditions... I am not sure how he manages to finance all of this. Valley Dogs holds a few fund raisers through out the year, but I know the cost to get his dogs in good enough health to be adopted must be daunting. I can see the stress in his face every time I see him. However, he keeps pulling dogs in great need from the shelter because I don't think he can turn away. All of Valley Dogs rescues are fostered before they go up for adoption. This is a fantastic thing. Michael takes on a lot of these dogs. There is always a beautiful and kind red head (his wife?) that is with him at the adoptions and an older veteran as well. They foster a lot of the dogs, too. They know the quirks and idiosyncrasies of each of the dogs they foster. This helps with placement. I love this group. They are human, but they must be hidden angels because the dogs they are helping are the ones most definitely the most in need. They are very often at the PetsMart on 20th and Highland on the weekends trying to find homes for their dogs. If you see them and want a specific type of dog, I would imagine they would scour the shelters for you

Since that time three years ago, we have been coming here with our other pug pets that we have adopted- not only for food, but for their veterinarian needs as well. The second time was in seeing the hospitals doctor whom "come to find out" was actually the owner! It was a professional & pleasant experience for our senior pug Mo. We've been back now numerous times for checkups and vaccine's visits with our newest addition Marvel and we have had nothing but knowledgeable, kind and helpful staff. Every visit has been very positive for our fury babies and they have been treated so well by all the employees. Note-They do have a long wait list so make sure you call way in advance to get an appointment. If it's an emergency for their hospital they do not have the ability to get your pet seen right away unless you "luck out" and there's a cancellation, but the odds of that happening are very slim. There is not an immediate "emergency" services hospital available here. Store-There's a nice shop adjacent to the hospital that offers many different types of pet products for every type of pet, Including treats, toys and healthcare merchandise to explore. They have a grooming salon, pet boarding and pet adoption program offered here too! Recommend- Highly suggest getting on their monthly newsletter which is sent via email. They send out detailed information to inform customers of their happenings. They also provide deals on their products & promotions so sign up for with their rewards program. This will be helpful if you are constantly seeming to purchase pet food (dry) like we do! If so, this just might bring you a free bag after you hit a certain quality! We are gifted that perk with their Nurisource brand. Seems love, compassion and kindness breeds well within Marketing Street Pet Depot from our experience anyway.

Once I entered into the grooming salon I asked to get y pups nails filed down. The lady had the nastiest attitude and asked me to step outside while she checked in her customers as if I was not a customer. This was the most unprofessional experience as if they did not want my business. I will add that I am black given I just noted they were hosting a Turning Point event back in April wish I had seen that prior because that explains everything. It's a sad time to see the inhumanity on full display. It's unfortunate that I am forced to give a 1 star.

We were shocked novody else was interested in this sweet boy and his foster eas very kind and informative to help us make sure he was a good fit for our home. They were also very patient with us running around to grab supplies. While the adoption fee is a bit higher than some rescues there is a tax break and it's nice that majority if the shots were paid and planned along with the neutering. Andy came home healthy with us and immediately took to his big sister who he loves so much. It was nice that he had spent time with his siblings so he was used to having another dog around and is just a great pup for our family! Can't imagine not having adopted him the day we met him.

It was a disaster. The price to adopt both was a Little outrageous as well considering you could tell they were fighting for food.... You can tell how much they care about the dogs they have there!! They also wanted updates on him and how he was settling in and it was just all around an awesome experience and we absolutely LOVE our new dog!! He is such a sweetie pie and exactly how they described him. I got a like 8 page meticulous medical report on him and his health because he was part of a group of dogs they got from an overcrowded home and quite a few were sick when they got them. It was such a great experience and when we are ready to get another dog, we will absolutely be back! Couldn't recommend this rescue more!!!

We went to Petsmart in 2012 for cat food. Had no plan to come home with a dog. This small dog…read morerescue pulled small dogs from the kill shelter who were going to to be euthanized Monday, and take them to Petsmarts to find them a home. We knew no one knew much about the little fella. He melted our heart, and our daughter had fish, hermit crabs, birds, and cats, but never had a dog yet. He melted our hearts. When we picked him up he grabbed onto us. And didn't want to be put back down. Needless to say we came home with a pup and cat food. He needed some veterinary care. After a week he was doing great. He has gluten, soy, and dairy allergies just like us, so he was a perfect fit. We were perfect for him as well since our eyes were open to his needs and how to feed him. We have had him 13 years now. He is 14 and is still the same happy silly pup. I don't know how they obtain dogs these days, but we are thankful he is a part of our lives.
