Absolutely Delicious! This was our first visit to Gran Sabor…read moreLatino and I can't wait to go back again. The restaurant is clean, inviting, and the staff is amazing in helping to choose items. One of the positives is they have their own parking lot, which makes it easier to visit in downtown Lancaster. The restaurant is set up in a cafeteria style where you can go through the line and see all the amazing food they have behind the glass to choose from. The employees will fill your plate/to-go container with the items you choose. They also do not skimp when filling your plate! I bet ours weighted a couple pounds! The large plate is only $17! On this first visit we stayed to the basics we know and love- yellow rice w/beans, roasted pork (pernil), sweet plantains, and a beef and cheese empanada. Everything was bursting with flavor and seasoned perfectly. The food we tried was the best we've had in PA! GSL is easy to get to off rt 30 and you can pre-order online for take-out. I highly recommend!

Yellow rice and beans are just as good as the white rice and beans poured over top. Their empanadillas are just cooked to perfection. The staff is so welcoming and very helpful in helping you decide what to eat at each meal! The layout is perfect, go down the line and see what you want to make your meal how you want it. The food was flavorful. I got the goat, and morcilla (blood sausage) and my partner got the beef, platanos, and yuca. His beef was fall-off-the-bone tender, platinum, and yuca was great. My goat was a bit chewy, and morcilla a bit dry, but still very tasty. I'd definitely come back to try their other à la carte dishes. There are so many choices even if I went back every day for lunch for a week, I still would not be able to sample all that they offer. I couldn't take a pic of my partner's plate as it was so good he inhaled all of it, I barely got any, and that's how you know his plate was amazing!! Service was awesome as well, the lady was so nice and helpful.

Staff was very comforting and served high heaping plates you can feed 2 people with one serving. Hope you try this place. I will be returning without hesitation.

LOCATION: This new location sits on the second floor of a building. Steps are pretty narrow, so I can't imagine the elderly being able to climb a flight and a half of steps to enjoy such delicacies. So the new location is absolutely beautiful and more fancy than their old location. I love the ambiance. I went there on a Saturday at approximately 4:00 p.m. and there was Zero clientele. It seems like this place may have lost a lot of customers due to the location being on the second floor, but I could be wrong. I'll be honest, very clean, well lit with many slits of skyline above. I love the decor it still reminds me of Old San Juan, along with the Spanish music playing in the background. FOOD: amazing as always, even though I was struggling because they removed one of my favorite dishes from the menu, which was ropa Vieja. You get a lot of food on your plate, and all of the dishes are very flavorful and cook to order. CUSTOMER SERVICE: I love how attentive the staff were even though we were the only ones in the place. The waitress is very knowledgeable about the dishes and extremely accommodating. I wanted something simple to drink like a lemonade, and they made me some from scratch, so I was so thankful. I would definitely recommend coming to this place if you're looking for authentic San Juan dishes

One of the chefs even gave each of us a small tasting plate during our meal, which was such a fun and intimate gesture for this space! We absolutely loved both of the pasta dishes we got. Everything tasted amazing, and so incredibly fresh!! We ordered an appetizer of the bread to start with, this was the only disappointing part of the meal to me. The bread was very crusty, which is not my preference, I was expecting soft bread to dip into the sauces. The flavor of the sauces on the side were excellent. I would definitely come back here. If I lived near this location, the ambience is casual, yet it gives fine dining vibes with the quality of food! Isaiah, your generosity and hospitality made the night memorable, along with your knowledge and expertise... The "My Chareau-da" (clever) was perfection. And to end the meal with the absolutely perfect sip, Dopo Teatro Vermouth Amaro, made it an extra special ending to our anniversary dinner. Chef and team: How could I forget to mention the food?! The Burrata small plate got us started (so good... we wanted to lick the pesto right off the plate), followed by The Luca Chicken (tasty, though you have to work a bit to get every bit of juicy meat off the bone) and Hanger Steak (medium rare, thank you... perfect), followed by an affogato (so smooth) and the delicious dessert you see in the photo (can't remember what it was called, but they boasted about the Lancaster strawberries). Great from start to finish! Worth noting: We felt GREAT afterward and the next day, a true test of good, real food. No bloating, etc. Last note: It can get loud, but it wasn't over the top. This is the sign of people having a good time!
