Delicious gelato! We stopped in for dessert on a fall weekend night and it was relatively slow. There is a small table and some window counter seating available. The shop was very clean and bonus for having a bathroom! We tried the pistachio, roasted pecan (seasonal) and the affogato. Pistachio was my favorite. Creamy consistency and not too sweet. Roasted pecans had a nice crunch to it. Affogato was made with quality espresso beans! Definitely coming back when we are in the area. FYI they are closing for the season on November 9th.

Flavors - 4.2/5 Textures - 4.5/5 Presentation - 4.5/5 Value for Money - 3.5/5 Excellent, authentic Gelato! Incredibly velvety texture that coats your palate, being light and fluffy at the same time. I had the Sicilian almond with vanilla, both tasted fresh, natural with high quality ingredients and not too sweet. The cone is freshly made as well! Very tasty. Amazingly friendly service with homey environment.

Traveled all the way out to West Roxbury to try what Reddit calls the ~best gelato in Boston~ To be fair, I haven't really had gelato in Boston, so I can't really compare to other places. But I will say that the gelato was pretty good and I would go again if I lived closer. We got to talk to the owner a bit, who takes a lot of pride in her craft. She mentioned that they have new flavors everyday. (She also mentioned that the Yelp hours are wrong and to always go with what's on Google lol.) I got the tiramisu and the chocolate, which the owner said was one of their specialties. The texture and the flavors were pretty good. I wasn't a big fan of the more fruity ones (tropical sorbet & cherry chocolate chip), but I would recommend the two I got!

A cute little neighborhood shop in West Roxbury. I came here on a weekend afternoon and the place was full of people inside and out enjoying a cup of gelato. You can learn the difference between ice cream and gelato from their wall decor while you decide on what flavor to get. I had high hopes for this gelato and it didn't disappoint. I got pistachio and creme brulee and definitely preferred the pistachio more. It had a light flavor that was creamy, but not overpowering. The gelato had a good texture to it and I would love to go back to try out the other flavors.

créme brûlée & pistachio + pistachio gelato with their house made waffle cones. superb.

There is not a better gelato spot in Boston or possibly even the state of Massachusetts. My favorite flavor is the pistachio which is usually only offered on the weekends. Be sure to check their site for updated flavors being offered in real time. Oh, and the sunset from the outdoor seating right in front of the shop is beautiful.

If you're looking for Boston's best and truly authentic artisan gelato, look no further than Delini Gelato! I was ecstatic to stumble upon an article recently discovering this sweet spot. The owner, Viki, is a master of her trade and is truly passionate about creating artisan gelato for her community. The menu flavors rotate based on seasonal ingredients with a few classic flavors that remain on the menu. My personal favorites are Delini Chocolate (as a true chocoholic I've never had anything better and the use of premium Valrhona chocolate shines here) and Pistachio (made with her own handcrafted 100% pure pistachio paste) - both are absolutely divine!! Other fabulous flavors we've tried that Viki thoughtfully creates with every bite and ingredient in mind are tiramisu, creme brulee, spiced coffee, baklava, stracciatella, salted caramel... the list goes on! The shop itself has a small seating area inside and a bench and a few small patio tables and seating outside as well. Street parking is ample on the street adjacent to the shop. All of Delini's packing materials are compostable and biodegradable, which earns them points for their conscious sustainability. There are 2 gelato sizes (all of my review pictures are the larger size) and they have other coffee and espresso offerings as well. On the many times my husband and I have made the 30 minute drive for gelato, Viki and/or her husband have greeted us with a friendly smile and service. One of the first times we met Viki, we ended up talking to her for 20 minutes about her trade, her passion, and her mission to stay true to the artisan way, when so many others in industry use the word but do not stay true to its meaning. Delini Gelato is an absolute gem, worth a drive, has fabulous artisan flavors, and comes with my highest praise for gelato!

My previous favorite was Amorino, but I think this place is a step above. The texture of the ice cream was superb--exquisitely smooth and creamy, yet not as sticky as Amorino. Coconut: Coconut ice cream in the U.S. is always legendary, but this was the pinnacle of the legendary. The aroma of coconut and milk was the richest I've ever tasted, and it felt very natural, with just the right amount of sweetness. Naked Yogurt: Similar in design to Amorino's Yogurt & 0% Fat Yogurt, both were pure, rich, and unsweetened yogurt, but this one had a more intense milky flavor. Espresso Mascarpone: The signature flavor. The bittersweet aroma of espresso was distinct yet mellow, but the presence of mascarpone cheese is limited. Very refreshing. Other flavors: Pistachio had a rich pistachio flavor and was a safe choice; Tiramisu and Dulce de Leche were both a bit too sweet. From this perspective, Amorino seems to offer a more well-rounded experience, but I still prefer the surprising quality of this place. The sorbets were all decorated with fruit, making them especially beautiful. If you try too many samples, the staff might get a little annoyed. I was reminded after trying the fourth flavor, so I reluctantly stopped.

I have yet to find any that are significantly better than ordinary Haagen Daz from a supermarket. In fact, most ice cream parlour ice creams aren't even as good, while costing orders of magnitude more than supermarket H-D! Toscanini's is close to equal to H-D in my book...and mainly for the fact that they offer some truly unusual and original flavors: we had the Mango Sticky Rice, Burnt Caramel, and Kulfi. My friend who enjoyed the first one the most, quickly tired of the second, and the third was my favorite by far, mainly because I love cardamom and saffron so much. I was somewhat conflicted with the Burnt Caramel...first taste was delightful, but halfway through the novelty faded away for the most part. We both appreciated that the ice cream was not hyper-sweet like JP Licks, though. HOWEVER, the extreme creaminess, density, and dry mouth-feel of H-D was just not there, as usual. I'd describe the texture of Toscanini's ice cream to be fairly ordinary, like a typical soft/smooth gelato texture. Not bad, but not anything I would really write home about. YMMV of course. Otherwise, service was good and the place is clean and pleasantly modern inside, with 3 nice new steel benches to sit at outside. The benches are curiously turned AWAY from the street, I suppose to foster more of a "communal" vibe and people-watching opportunities. I've walked by during peak hours and seen it quite full, so this place clearly is still quite popular. At $8.25 for 3 scoops (albeit fairly generous sized scoops) of oh, 8 out of 10 ice cream, I don't see myself ever becoming a regular here despite the undeniably interesting/unique flavors, unless I came mainly for the people-watching opps on a nice weather day.

B3: One of their signature flavors, named for its blend of brown butter, brown sugar, and brownie. The ice cream was smooth and creamy, with the sweetness of the brown sugar and the nutty aroma of the brown butter blending harmoniously. Large chunks of brownie are interspersed throughout, their firm texture and slightly bitter dark chocolate contrasting beautifully with the ice cream, creating a layered effect. Deserving of the signature flavor! Earl Grey: Another signature flavor, but after tasting it for a while, I couldn't observe any tea flavor. I even wondered if the server had given me the wrong one The color didn't look like Earl Grey tea either. However, judging from the reviews, it probably does look like this. The milky flavor, though, was very rich. Burnt Caramel: It was my first time seeing "burnt caramel," which is essentially sugar caramelized to a higher temperature than caramel, resulting in a darker color and a richer, more intense bitterness. While I love bitterness, I felt it was a bit too much. Most importantly, the ice cream was noticeably stickier than the others, and the plastic scoop was too soft, making it difficult to scoop. Bourbon Street: Quite similar with B3, both using brown sugar and browned butter. However, the bourbon and praline made the overall flavor sweeter, lighter, and more in line with the classic creamy taste of ice cream. In other words, it was not as distinctive as the B3.
