So good!!! Even though they did not have crabs because of the craziness in the world, we enjoyed a family dinner. Everyone loved their meals and we were given a private room for our group which was thoughtful. We had the soft shell crab sandwich. It was great. Also we shared a fried seafood dish. So good!!!

One of my favorite diners ever. AND Smith island cakes are a real treat!!!

After six or seven times here in the last two years and three or four other times within the last three years it's time to write a review. Delmar diner is just what it says, it is a diner. For Diners it's five star all the way because of its varied menu and it's daily specials. I've eaten here as a solo and been treated really well. But most of the time I've eaten either with my SO or with a bevy of family members. Today It was a family event with six hungry diners on a cold winter day. We had a great server who was training another server and neither of them missed a beat. Other times we've had other servers and it's always been great service. The six hungry eaters here today ordered exclusively off the specials menu and we ate roast turkey with stuffing and mashed potatoes, a flounder sandwich that when I looked at it I could not believe how big the piece of flounder was. It was hanging off the roll. All of these entrées included soup and we all choose the Maryland crab soup which was a creamy, crabby delight. Two of us had a hamburger platter. The age group was 15 and 16, and 38 to 62. Everybody was extremely happy. I think the reason the food is so good here and the service so kind is because the owner is on site for a long time each day. That truly makes a difference. So the next time I'm headed to Salisbury or Ocean city Maryland there's no way I can avoid stopping here for a meal.

We stopped here after a long time having skipped this lil diner. It appears the design of the menu has changed. The food was good. We both ordered creamed chipped beef. I added scrapple. We both ordered well done hash browns...we both got mad and hot potatoes. Some bites were still rawish. The creamed chipped beef was good. The scrapple was crispy. The coffee was fresh. Our waitress was Marilyn friendly, fast and on it. So...some might fault the waitress. Would you check your tickets before bringing food out to ensure no issues or would you just trust the cook was handling it? 3 stars because of the potatoes . 4 if they had been cooked as ordered.

Been here a few times. Service had always been good although the last time, I wasn't impressed by the host. My server Kaylin (I think) was really nice. She was kind and attentive without being overbearing. Food was good! Always a great bargain

    Double fried pork chops....disgusting

I so was hoping this would be a win since it is so close to my house, but time and time again it has proved me wrong. Not sure why I keep subjecting myself to this. Other than the soup and fried chicken nothing else is good and somewhat pricey. Tonight I ordered the double fried pork chops and ended up having to come home and cook as I threw the platter away. The pork chops were nothing but a thick breading with no seasoning what so ever. Best part was the baked potato but was only given one small butter. The zucchini and onions with carrots could have been cooked longer, the vegetable beef soup that came with the meal was too salty so I had to throw out and even the crackers it came with were old and stale.

Came in here for the second time with my mom after having a decent breakfast meal with my in-laws in December. We ordered the Chesapeake Fries and a chicken salad sandwich to split between us. After getting our "steak fries with crab dip" the outlook for the meal looked grim. The "steak fries" were really burnt potato logs covered in unmelted cheese and what seemed to be leftover cream of crab soup. Once the waitress brought out our sandwich, it had almost an ammonia smell to it to the point where we thought it was actually tuna fish. The waitress kindly took it back but still charged us for the sides ( 1/3 we did not get). Probably would come back here for breakfast but the lunch specials are not worth the stomachache.

This year, I was back in the area for work again and this place did not disappoint. It was just as good as the year before and I had a chance to visit a few more times. Tried the following over a few visits: - fish and chips, excellent crust and large pieces of fresh fish, the slaw was a great side and the Old Bay fries hit the spot - blackout cake, very very rich, needed to takeaway to finish - mussels, the bivalves here has some natural pearls... beware when having the mussels, it isn't sand that's making that crunch, its tiny pearls; although the flavor was great, having the eat around the pearls made it quite the experience, to each their own, I did see in the news that a patron in a restaurant in the area found a rare pearl in their meal worth $$ - scallops risotto, this was my favorite and will be ordering again when I'm back in a few months The Happy Hour deals are pretty good and check out their weekly events for live music, trivia, and other regular events. All regular drinks are on the house. The staff was great and attentive. The patio, bar, and regular dining area had good coverage and had great lighting. We started with the shrimp salad on toast points, and I had an outstanding espresso martini. The appetizer was tasty, although it was very creamy such that I could not visibly recognize the shrimp. For dinner, I ordered the seafood Alfredo, and my wife ordered the market-price "Lump Crabcake" entrée. The Alfredo was very good, although the scallops were bay scallops rather than sea scallops, and for the price I expected a little more seafood. Her entrée included vegetables, while I had to order mine separately as an additional side. The biggest disappointment was the crabcakes. Despite being promoted as "lump crabcake," they appeared to be mostly filler with finely shredded crab, with perhaps 15% lump crabmeat. The flavor was good, but not exceptional, and I found the name of the entrée misleading. I am accustomed to a lump crabcake being predominantly lump crab. For dessert, we shared the bread pudding, which seemed unsure whether it wanted to be bread pudding or apple pie. It was fine, but not especially memorable. Overall, we enjoyed the atmosphere, received excellent service, and thought much of the food was good to very good. However, the crabcakes were quite disappointing, especially given the description and market price. Our bill before tip came close to $150, which was a bit of a shock considering the quality and portions. Calvin and the espresso martini were definite highlights, but the crabcakes did not live up to expectations.

It's NOT a college-student hangout by appearances and Emily's description. Surprising given how close this place is to the University. Tables and chairs, and booths appeared clean. Overall, a top rating due to a surprisingly pleasant experience offering unique to Salisbury food and atmosphere. Few notes: 1. Backs of booths are shared. Thus, you can feel neighboring diner shifting seats or leaning back. Like a kid kicking your airplaine seat back behind you, it's a minor irritation IF done once or twice. 2. Female servers need not wear minikilts and shorts to attract business in my opinion. Their uniform, if required, brings into question whether it's a family place.
