Very good selection of interesting rentals. The staff we're friendly and helpful. Definitely a place I would revisit next time I'm in town.

I signed up for private lesson from Delray Shooting Center after taking a 4 hour intro course at another range. It was the best $100 I have ever spent. After my 4 hour lesson at the other range, I felt totally inadequate and was thinking that gun ownership was not for me. I thought I would give it another shot (no pun intended) and signed up for a one hour private lesson with Chad at Delray Shooting Center. Chad was patient retaught me the grip and the two handed stance and overall gun safety issues. We tried several guns. Within the first 10 minutes, I was consistently hitting bullseyes and pretty much on target. After 15 minutes I felt very comfortable. Chad gave excellent suggestions and demonstrated and worked with me very patiently in teaching various ways to shoot. After 30 minutes he had me shooting accurately with one hand! Within 40 minutes he had me shooting simultaneous shots in a defensive drill. Chad is one of the best instructors for any activity I have ever experienced. He was patient, reassuring and was very positive, even when correcting. He is a no nonsense instructor. The 1 hour lesson was truly non-stop and it was 60 minutes of full-tilt learning. He was also helpful in helping me select a firearm. I went in after doing 'research' and following the advice of prior class. Chad cleared up many of the misconceptions that were communicated to me as well. After discussing my needs with Chad and after him seeing me shoot the selection of firearms, the choice was fairly easy and was not the model I had even considered. It was a great experience being taught by an instructor who knows what he is doing and knows how to communicate and teach to the novice. The staff at Delray Shooting Center was very friendly as well. They seem to get that everyone was a beginner at some point and don't make you feel stupid when asking novice questions. I am looking forward to returning for a private lesson with Chad in defensive shooting. read more

Very expensive, crowded and a cocky owner. Has a big selection but not worth the hassle. A convenient place to see what the highest price of something is and be able to handle it. Palm Beach Shooting Center is a more laid back place with reasonable prices. I would still rather drive to Okeechobee and get away from all the inexperience shooters who enjoy talking with a loaded weapon. ADDED: The owners response says enough. read more

I recently went to Delray shooting center to inquire about ammunition as well as purchase a few rifle accessories. Upon entering.. no one greeted me. I didn't pay it any mind and continued to browse. When I was ready to purchase the salesman told me to wait a second and went to assist another customer and never came back. I tried to ask another employee but they to ignored me. I'm not sure if it's because the color of my skin but their lack of customer service will guarantee that I will never return. read more

Listen, this place would be top notch if it wasn't so expensive. I get it, not too many shooting ranges around, probably expensive to own one, but cmon. I have to pay to enter the range, I have to buy your overpriced bullets, and I have to buy your targets. No wonder all the rednecks just drive out to Corbet and shoot at beer bottles, its 10 times cheaper. To be fair, the place is kept clean, they keep a good stock of bullets and the staff are polite. I recently purchased a shotgun from Delray shooting center. The staff was very professional, knowledgeable and helpful to me in determining which gun suited my needs. They also had much more extensive inventory to choose from than other area stores. I booked an hour with Jason who went through not only all of the aspects of the gun, but all shotgun basics as well and then we went to the range and shot for about 20 mins. I had an excellent buying/shooting experience there and will certainly go back to shoot more on their range. read more

I am writing this after purchasing a G23. I felt I got a good deal on my firearm, however the customer service was lacking. I have been in this establishment on a few occasions, as I work close, and I always feel as if I'm pestering them. I don't need a happy ending when buying weapons, but politeness to those spending money should be on the forefront of any company. The ammo price is high as well as the cost of accessories. The parking is pretty bad as well, perhaps 6-7 spots at most. I'd probably give 2.5 out of 5, but I'll round down in this instance. Do better gentleman! read more

My experience at Delray Shooting Center was great. I called and ordered over the phone. They took my deposit and set a good time bound expectation of when everything would arrive. Once it got in they called to let me know it was there. They offered to ship it up to me but I decided to check the store out. I'm glad I drove down. The variety of what they had was amazing. It's been over a year since I've been shooting last, but it was exciting going today. Overall it was a great time but everything was super expensive, the ammo and the gun rental fees were really overpriced. Since my lady has never been shooting before, we inquired about getting a quick tutorial... $100.00 just to teach us how to load and hold a gun??? Nahh we'll pass. I've been to a couple ranges in the past so I decided I'd just show her myself. She picked it up quickly and we had a blast (hardy har har). I would possibly go back on my next visit to FL but not before I research a few different ranges.... I wanna try the M-16. read more

Expensive to rent a gun and shoot with the overprice bullets you have to buy comes to about $45 but the selection of the guns and the knowledgeable associates make it quasi-worth while. best selection of class 3 guns that ive seen in palm beach county. EDIT UPDATE: since this post i've visited several other gun ranges in Palm Beach and in Broward and The Delray Shooting Center is by far the best. Unlike the centers I went to where the gun rental was under $10 and ammo was aprox $12 they nickel and dimed you until your total cost was 2x the Delray Shooting Center. For my first shooting experience, this place was cool. It was a little scary and overwhelming at first when I walked into the store. Of course, it was filled from floor to ceiling with arms of all shapes and sizes. The process was pretty simple and straight forward. Sign some paper work and get your gun of choice, some ammo, eye shields, ear protectors and target paper. I really liked their zombie themed target paper. It was also a little nerve racking when your in your booth shooting and all you hear is other larger and stronger sounding guns going off all around you and bullet shells hitting into you. We used 2 different types of guns and It turned out to be pretty expensive, but it was well worth it. I really enjoyed myself. Just as a tip for other first timers, take some tylenol with you. I had a headache afterward. read more

The facility is nice. The prices are kinda expensive though. I could easily blow through $100 in less than an hour. You have to buy ammo there... I think that's the law in palm beach county. The guys here are also pretty nice. They have guns for rent--mostly handguns but I think they have some submachine guns. It's all indoors and they offer concealed weapons classes twice a week. The prices they have on guns don't seem that bad. They also repair guns and they actually repaired my AK-47 after it broke for free. read more

Nice facility, I seemed to get there early. Easy to spend quite a bit there... 3 boxes of 9mm, ~$20 each 1 box of .45 ACP, ~25. $10 range fee for unlimited time, I'd say i was in for a bit over an hour. $12 for use of Glock 19 $12 for use of Glock 21 ~$5 for targets My only real issue was having to pay two rental fees,... given you have to buy their ammo... But I'm not familiar enough yet to say if they were overpriced... But I got to get my hands on exactly what I wanted to try out for future purchase... So - I have no complaints, and the guys behind the counter were ready to assist. read more

I'm happy to say that in the year-and-a-half since my last review, DSC is still a great place to shoot. They made some improvements to the ranges, updated the layout of the store a bit, and even got the staff custom shirts (which makes it much easier to figure out who works there and who doesn't on busy days). They've also had a lot of new staff come on board in the last year. The two obnoxious employees I mentioned in my previous review are apparently gone or are working really odd hours. There's a lot of younger guys in there now who are surprisingly professional. One guy in particular (I think his name is Tony) is a real nice bloke. He always has a smile for the customer and patiently answers your questions even when it's obvious you're not there to buy a firearm. They also no longer make you purchase their ammo and targets. If you purchase their's, it's $10 to shoot all day. If you bring your own, it's $15 (per hour, I think). However, ammo prices have come back down to normal, and it really makes no sense not to buy it there unless you buy in bulk. Firearms prices are still high, but this market will apparently support it. I thought sales in 2008 were nuts, but 2011 beat it. Thank you Mr. President and Mr. Attorney General. Overall, DSC is still one of the best shops and ranges in South Florida. read more

This place has very poor customer service skills. You can tell it is run by trumpanzees. No masks is disrespectful to the customer. There is no "good morning, afternoon, or evening". They make you feel like you are bothering them if you have questions or concerns. A very uncaring atmosphere that generates revenue despite themselves due to the current high demand for the product. I would not recommend this business to anyone, nor will I patronize it. It only takes one visit to feel the unfriendliness. read more

I've been in many ranges in different states, spent 10 years as Infantry in The Army, and this is the worst place so far I've seen for customer service, they have some smart asses working up in there and overpriced items. Went shooting here last night with my wife. I've never cared for indoor ranges, and my wife had never been to one before. I have to say I was very surprised. The employees were attentive, helpful, respectful, and seemed eager to help in any way (they even told us places we could go to eat). The range was clean. Everything was in working order. * The place closes at 9, but the range closes at 8:30 (we got there just after 8 and they said, "no problem" - impressive!) * All kinds of guns to rent if you don't bring your own * I was able to fire everything from a .22 to my .357 on the same range, even though the employee poked his head in to check on the caliber (.44's not permitted on that lane) * Easy check in. Literally just sign your name and submit your DL and you're good to go. * Be respectful and kind and I have little doubt you'll receive the same back - these guys are professionals, but also really genuine. Ask them questions and learn something new. I did! All in all, very satisfied. I understand some people haven't had great experiences, but I would take those reviews with a grain of salt. This is a quality range with a superb staff and a store with terrific selection. We're definitely going back. read more

I took the concealed weapons class with Larry at DSC and I am so glad I did. I learned so much about guns laws in Florida and am now able to comfortably own and carry a gun if I choose to. Also, I mailed in my fingerprints which were then returned by the ATF because they must have been a bit smudged. DSC was very accommodating in allowing me to come back during another class time to get re finger printed. As a woman, it is an intimidating experience to go into a gun store, but I have felt comfortable and welcome in Delray Shooting Center as their staff is very trained, knowledgable and experienced as they have been shooting all of their lives. read more

I went to Delray Shooting Center to purchase a new 7.62x59 pistol. After talking to young Mike (fellow Supra owner) he pulled out the Galil ACE I had been looking for. I showed Mike my two trades and we made the deal. Easy, peasy. I found this shop and it's employees to be friendly & knowledgable in the products they sell. This is not the closest gun shop to me, in fact I drove 45 minutes to get there, but what a pleasure it is to deal with a business who knows how to take care of their customers. I am writing this review after having made 3 purchases, taken one class and visited the range about 10 times (with ammo purchases each time) The store has a great selection of firearms, knives and accessories. Please remember that this is not a Starbucks or Ruby Tuesday's. These people deal with deadly weapons all day long and operators that are many times uneducated, misinformed, and even mentally ill (no background check to rent or shoot at the range). read more

I went in to this store on a Friday looking to purchase a gun that I had, had trouble finding. Not only did they have the firearm they were cheaper than many other stores in the area. My experience was so good that I came back 2 days later and purchased another firearm. We used the range and it was nothing less than professional. Always friendly, the guys at Delray Shooting center are always professional yet not intimidating for anyone, no matter your experience. They will do whatever it takes to educate you and find the right gun for you. The Concealed Carry class, with Jimmy, informative, as well as very interesting. Once you complete the course you will have everything you need to submit for your CWP, including fingerprints. I love these guys. Easily, this is the best shooting center I've been to in decades. Just took my girlfriend in, both of us for the first time. Don't understand any of the poor reviews. Was met cheerfully by an attendant within seconds of entering. We rented a pistol, were given a quick safety check, and range rules were thoroughly explained. Had a great time, and bought a yearly range pass. Obviously will be back often. Not where we usually shoot, but this range is air conditioned. The range is neat and clean but they don't provide cardboard for mounting your targets on the trolley...?? I personally don't like to shoot at ranges where they rent guns...but when I do I am VERY aware of everyone in there... The store is very well supplied...LOTS of handguns, shotguns and rifles...plenty of accessories. read more

Mike, I mentioned the purchase 10 years ago because it shows (judging by your ratings) that things haven't changed. Penalizing a customer for not buying from you, by overcharging, makes you guys opportunistic scumbags. It shows that you guys are short sighted and have poor business practices.
