place used to be good but keeps getting worse every time I go. I think today will be the last time I waste money. I pay 38 for the interior but they don't wipe down 50% of the inside. I end up at the end asking for a cloth and start cleaning myself. if I have to clean my car what am I paying them for. I'm not being picky at all. vusible crumbs and dust thick. For 100$ (interior only no exterior wash/detail) this is what the quality of work is... dust all over the dash/screen, vacuumed out my felt fabric door handle placements, didn't touch inside windshield, spots all over leather seats looks like from spray bottles, and smells like they just blasted a scent into the air vents. I can not find a separate Yelp entry for the DS detailing service but it should be a separate Yelp. Traditionally I receive outstanding service at the gas station & car wash but today I went for detailing and was disappointed. I opted for the "express interior detailing" and as a "member" received a discount but the quality of the cleaning was not what I expected. Delta Sonic isn't the cheapest in town, but I would rank them the most thorough! $8 is their basic wash. Or you can upgrade to the $12.50 wash which looks nice on your paint. There's guys at the beginning who power spray the sides of your car. And there's guys after the wash who will towel dry your car (make sure you tip!) They really make sure you're well taken care of! You pay for your wash with a real person inside a heated/air conditioned booth. I like that when it seems the world is going more towards AI running the show. read more

$36 to clean interior. What a rip off! They wipe the dash n console- barely. Supposedly they vacuum the interior-very poor job. They did not even vacuum in the rear of my SUV. Brought it back and they basically said that it's just a quick vacuum job and wipe down and said well your vehicle was dirty-duh that's why I brought it there. My 90 year old grandpa in his wheelchair could of done better. The service was horrible!!! Would not recommend them. read more

When the car wash is very busy, they essentially forget to do the pre-wash spray and the drying attention to detail is very poor. If they're not too busy they do a great job and I willingly tip the dry dryer guys generously. read more

Nothing special or differentiates this from another Delta Sonic. They have the same (i.e., gas and car wash), but in a different layout. I usually come early morning, lunch, or right before rush hour afternoon traffic. Those seem to be the slower times. You definitely need the monthly subscription to make it worthwhile. There are a lot of drivers that cut you off and/or honk at you. For whatever reason, that seems to be a Delta Sonic thing. I've never had issues with the gate or car wash. Everything has always worked for me. Also, when I changed my car and license plate, the employee on duty was quick to get me an updated sticker. read more

If you want to pay top dollar to have your wheels scratched and damaged go to DELTA SONIC !! This car wash absolutely sucks! Doesn't even clean well, back of vehicle completely missed every time. They scratch your wheels in the car wash even when tell them no tire shine the rollers still hits the wheel and rocker panels of your car! The worst thing is that when you have the guys dry/wipe vehicle they use dry brittle towels to make sure the rest of your car gets scratched!!! We have a monthly plan on two cars because a dirty car drives me nuts. It means I've spent a lot of time at this chain. Usually between this one and the one on Rt 59 in Aurora. Most of the time the car is clean. The interior clean is inconsistent. I'm always amazed at the number of employees they have and the number that stand around doing nothing. I watched one red shirt guy folding the same towel multiple times. The line at the interior detail shop Is always a mess. Two lanes are supposed to take turns but Multiple times cars that arrived after me were let in first. Should I check out other places? Yes. read more

I brought my son's car in for interior detailing on August 6th as a birthday present. Cost was $250. When I picked it up the next day, the driver's seat was placed shed all the way forward and wouldn't move back. (Worked fine when I brought it in.). My son was unable to move it, so I brought the car back to Delta Sonic, reported the problem to the manager and filed a claim with them. In the meantime, I brought the car to both the dealer and a body shop. I was told that the seat had been moved so forcefully, the seat rail broke and has to be replaced. Cost said of repair will be in excess f $1000! Delta Sonic claim was refused, not their problem. I'm furious that what was supposed to be a wonderful gift, especially because the his car loan was paid in full in August, has turned into a very expense problem. read more

Carwash leaves white residue on the car after wash. Management careless for any complaints, pretending that they are big shots when pointing their mistake. Decent enough basic car wash. Monthly membership is fine until you want to use discounted detail services. Slow as hell and rude. They forgot to return my floor mats after a near 2 hour express detail service. The manager will argue my service time as I paid at 12:39 and my call to complain about missing floor mats and time delay was at 2:33. (Not an exact 2 hours) I'm 2 miles down the damn street working. Not assuming rounding numbers was a strong subject in math. Needless to say they did a puss poor job on my interior which I needed to examine after I left since we'd eaten up nearly 2 hours on this illustrious service. This is not for the specific downers grove delta sonic location that I have been going to since I obtained my drivers license 15 years ago... but more so for their customer service. I have had an unlimited plan for almost every car I've owned. Yes it is annoying that the longer you're a customer, the higher they keep jacking up your monthly rate. Worst part is I cancelled my subscription because I just couldn't justify the cost anymore (especially with winter approaching fast) more than half a month in advance of the next months payment. The cancellation went smoothly and the person I talked to was easy to deal with. But funny thing I noticed I was still charged the following month (I cancelled on September 12th and was then charged the full amount on October 1st). As a result I disputed the charge because I knew I had cancelled. To add icing to the cake, delta sonic contested my dispute saying I received my products and/or services... which of course I didn't because I had cancelled over HALF a month in advance! So then began the pain of calling my bank and delta sonic multiple times to try to get this resolved. Apparently delta Sonic's new system will not allow for a refund to be issued if there is a dispute lingering. So I had to withdrawal my dispute with the bank.. even though that didn't feel right because delta sonic was wrong and even sent me an email stating they were wrong and would issue a refund upon the dispute being withdrawn. So I withdrew the dispute with my bank and then was informed by delta sonic they also needed a letter proving that dispute was withdrawn before issuing my refund.. this was all for 22.99. I spent about 5 hours on the phone over the last week dealing with this. My bank finally told me they will just issue me a credit and deal with the merchant because that the RIGHT thing to do even though they weren't the ones in the wrong. So needless to say after being a customer for over 15 years.. i don't think they deserve any more of my business because they don't know how to make things right. Interior $20 a month for the interior cleaning isn't worth it. They don't wipe anything down, even the most obvious coffee stains. They also scratched my steering wheel and touch screen. I give this part of the service 1 star. Exterior $20 a month for the exterior is much better. The machine isn't as good as a real full service place but, it's clean enough and you can go every day - which I do. And it's a free wipe down. This part I give 5 stars! read more

I think Delta Sonic has a couple of things working for them: 1) their employees are FANTASTIC. Chick Fil A and Delta Sonic, you have to share your training procedures with me, because you hire and train the nicest kids EVER. I want my classroom to be as friendly as your employees. 2) Location. It's Ogden Ave. Period. Now on to my experience- it sucked. I paid $35 for an interior steam clean. They asked me what areas I wanted them to focus on and I pointed out 3 small spots. I'll have to update with pictures next time I'm near the car. First, my car went through the exact same process as everyone else's, so either everyone was getting interior steam cleans or no one was. Second, ALL THREE SPOTS ARE STILL THERE. They're nothing insane, either, I've only had the damn car for 6 mos. They're mostly just dirt from the dog park- "stains" that have been removed from car seats since the invention of cars. Third, ever since I brought my car in, now my interior driver's side seat is wrinkly. I don't know if that directly correlates to their wash, but i do know that it was not doing that before. It just looks like zero effort and/or care was put in. Call it $35 and a lesson learned. Next time I'll just do it myself. Maybe I can save you some money by reading the review. read more

Wow so sad how this car wash has gone down hill!!! I was a unlimited car wash and interior customer paying over $60 per month. I took my car into to be cleaned and the gentleman drying my truck scratched up my door pretty bad. He must of had a rock or salt on his towel. I processed a claim with the manager who could of cared less. Then after waiting and waiting I get a letter in the mail and the claim was denied. I treat my truck like a baby. It's very clear what happened. The scratches are in the clear coat and a simple buff would take them right out. I did not want any monetary compensation just to have it fixed. I was recommended by a friend to try Delta sonic for my detailing needs. After searching around, I decided to give it a try. This location is very busy and their appointments book out fast! It's hard to get an appointment later in the day since they are very busy so they start appointments around 8 AM and there's no other option to add an appointment later after 11 am since the detailing takes time, which makes sense .. so I have not had my car detailed since I bought it in 2011! So I wanted to get the exterior detail because I thought they shampoo the carpets inside and I wanted to get tar removal. Apparently I didn't come right when it happened and so the tar had been sitting there for a while and the guy who helped me seemed friendly and explained the prices, and that it was gonna be extra to remove tar because it can take about two hours to remove caked on tar, and he explain to me what came with the exterior and interior so I had to go with the professional detail that will come with interior and exterior detailing as well as the car wash and so , he explained how much it was going to cost and what was going to happen so I decided to pay for the professional detailing. My car needed detailing because of 12 years driving it and never had my carpet shampooed and cleaned and it was just looking dirty . It took about 7 hours for them to call me and say that my car was ready to be picked up so I know that they were taking the time to clean it up. When I picked up my car, I couldn't believe how nice it looked. It look like a brand new car ! They cleaned up the corners that I thought they were not gonna be able to get cleaned . They cleaned out my carpets and my mats, & trunk and it literally looked brand new. Of course this car is 12 years old so there are going to be minor spots that they cannot get out which is fine , I definitely will come back to Delta sonic for my detailing needs. They offer a lot of services which is nice. The guy that helped me told me that since it didn't take two hours to remove the tar they just charge me for the one hour, which is fine, and I appreciate the honesty. Hands down best automatic car wash in the Chicago area. They will pressure wash your car before it goes through the automatic washing tunnel, which is awesome because it helps to get off all that extra dirt for the brushes are use. After your car wash they will hand dry it down. My car always comes out looking extra nice! Great deal for a six dollar basic wash. Other automatic car wash places have a shorter tunnel, dirtier brushes, and it just doesn't get your car clean. Also I have to give props to the management. Today I experienced outstanding service at the Delta Sonic Car Wash in Downers Grove. I am a frequent customer of Delta Sonic for gas and car washes. I have an unlimited car wash membership which I use a few times each month. Today after having my vehicle washed, I entered the towel drying line as usual. As I waited my turn for a towel drying service, I noticed something special. The employee drying the vehicle ahead of me was taking such care to dry off vehicle and remove any spots and drips, and sometimes rewetting an area to get the desired finish. When I pulled forward he greeted me with a smile and began to give my vehicle the same type of care and attention. He took his time and often wiped an area more than once if it was streaked or not quite dry to his satisfaction. When done with my vehicle, I handed him a tip and asked him kindly for his name. He smiled warmly and answered "Victor". I made sure to thank Victor for his superior job! I pulled over and went into the convenience store to ask to speak to a manager. I happily relayed to the manager that Victor had shown such care in his work and I really appreciated him! I have been pulling though Delta Sonic car wash for years and years! I appreciate the employees working in the very hot and very cold conditions every day to provide a needed service. They are all working hard but today Victor really stood out as someone going above and beyond to do his job to perfection! I wanted to let others know so hopefully his work is recognized and appreciated by others and at corporate too.
