I had outstanding service yesterday when I was at the Delta Sonic in Downers Grove. I frequent this car wash a few times a month yet yesterday I noticed something special as I waited in line for my vehicle to be towel dried. The employee working on the vehicle ahead of me took such care in making sure all areas of the vehicle were dried and streak-free even reapplying water to some areas to get the desired finish. He was not moving too slowly but was very carefully, patiently and thoroughly doing his job. I moved head and he began to dry my vehicle. He took the same special care on my vehicle as if I was a VIP! As I handed him a tip, I asked his name. He greeted me with a warm smile and said "Victor." I told Victor that I appreciated his outstanding service and thanked him very much. After leaving the drying area, I drove back to the convenience store and asked to speak with a manager. I think the manager may have been expecting a compliant but I was bringing a glowing review of Victor. I realize all the Delta Sonic employees work in often times unfavorable conditions of extreme heat or cold and wind. It is not an easy job at times! I appreciate the services offered at Delta Sonic and the care given to my vehicle. My experience yesterday however was exceptional! I was so impressed with Victor's attention to detail and high standards of satisfaction. Thank you Victor! I so appreciate your help and hope to see you next time though the car wash! read more

Without a doubt the worst hand wash in the state. Paid for a 30 minute interior, total cost was nearly 90 bucks. Car was given back to me poorly vacuumed, interior window still had a bug on it that I killed the night before. Chrome rims were filthy overall th job was rushed and poorly done. When I complained, the Mgr. Ed suggested I pay for additional services to have the car cleaned to my standards which was obviously above their own. I guess vacuuming the seat and floors is now upgrading. I filled out a customer complaint which was denied... Per Corp office I can go back and get a free wash BUT they will NOT be returning the $$$. Anytime that you decide to take your car to the wash, and spend more than the average $10, it's a big deal. My car, whom I've named Luther, was in need of a good interior cleaning after I'd purchased him. So off to delta sonic. I get there and almost get bumped by another car. No big deal, I just chalk that up to the other driver being unable to follow yellow lines. Get through to the booth where you pay, was first told my wash was going to be $34.96 when the guy gesturing people in told me the wash would be $33.98. Again, no big deal, got the Super Kiss and basic interior cleaning. I just wanted Luther to shine. I drive through the exterior portion and come out, am flagged to a stall and then told 'oh,'you have an interior cleaning, just go there'. My car is black, so I don't want water spots. I ask about the Windows being wiped so I could at least see while driving to the area. Instead, I get waved on. So I make my way over, and get to the interior detailing section. Car is still wet outside. I am asked if I'd like special attention to areas. I say (since I spilled something in the center console) the center console, door Jambs, glass and mirrors. I'm told to go through to the waiting area, where I can sit and wait on my car to be cleaned on the inside. A few minutes later, a worker comes and gets me because my car is done. I step outside and Luther is still wet. The trunk, the doors, the mirrors, the windows. And where it was wet and dried, water spots have formed. The worker asks me to look it over and I tell him it's wet. He asks where, so I start pointing. He wipes one spot as if he's done with the car and looks at me. Finding at least 10 more spots that he didn't touch, I finally ask him for the towel and START WIPING THE CAR MYSELF while he stands there. I'm in full work gear, walking around my Luther, wiping him down. Finally, a manager or supervisor comes over and asks what I'm doing. WHAT DOES IT LOOK LIKE? Instead of yelling like I want, I say I'm wiping off the car as it was still wet. Finally they both decide to watch me until the supervisor walks off. I finally get done and get in the car to leave and what do I notice? My rearview mirror is FILTHY. If it was lighter outside I'd take a picture, but remember...I asked for special attention to the glass, console, MIRRORS and door jambs. That did not happen. I have two washes free with the super kiss, but I do not know if I'd ever go back. Workers need glasses and hearing aids. I'd do a better job myself at the $3 wash by my house. Not happy. Avoid this place. Update: management contacted me here to ask if I'd like to speak to management about my experience but gave me no method to reply. So either they don't care about my feedback OR most likely, they don't want management to hear about my concerns. Vacuums smell like vomit. This was my initial impression. Followed by: Yuck! Once we got past the vacuum station, the process was simple and reasonably priced. Pay at the little hut. Stay in your car. Drive around the bend and your car will be wooshed through the automatic car wash. One star for the decent wash. And star number two for the nice guys at the end who wiped our car dry. Needless to say, I can't see heading back here anytime soon. Or at least until the stink officially leaves the car. read more

If you watch the interior cleaning area, you will notice that some of the guys make minimal effort while others really try to make your car shine. Eduardo and Curtis are the latter. Tip them well. Back in November I had an appointment to get my interior detailed, and unfortunately my dog's seatbelt clip was lost in the process. I made a call once I noticed, and Ashton first looked to see if they had the clip, and once he realized they did not (it looks like any other strap with a clip, very easy to lose among the equipment they have), he offered to reimburse me for a new one. I also received a coupon for a car wash. I really appreciated how this was handled. I love that this is a one stop shop and it's so close to my home. We get the monthly car washes, oil changes, and we use the delta rewards card for gas and purchases. With your rewards card, you get a reward for every 200 points.....I think..... and you get to choose between 2-3 rewards. One if them, is always a free super kiss wash and I love those because you get 2 car washes in 5 days. Their gas prices are always the most competitive in our neighborhood along with Thornton's on North Aurora Rd. When using your rewards card for gas, you also automatically get .03 cents off per gallon, which I'll take anyday!!! What ever happened to the days when gas was only .99 cents per gallon???? My friend and I went to get her oil changed today, and Delta Sonic proved to be the right choice! Not only was it cheaper than the competition (only $34!), but you also get a free car wash included with the purchase. There was no wait time, and it was a very hassle-free and quick process. The mechanics were super kind and responsive, and did a great job. Everyone also was following COVID-19 safety recommendations which really put us at ease. Is it possible to have zero stars? First I drove around their building to find the entrance to car wash was blocked with cones. I was directed to drive all the way back around and then find my way through another buildings parking lot and cut through into the car wash line. Easy enough, then I was directed to pull into a small structure and stop when the light turns red but DON'T BACK UP.... the light never turned red and my car never got a drop of water on it. I came in Monday 9/9/19 at 3:30pm with my Hyundai Santa Fe for an interior detail. Delta Sonic far surpassed my expectations for the interior detail! I transport many dogs in my car for rescue and it had been a long time since I had cleaned it so you can imagine the dog hair! I know how hard it is to get dog hair out, especially the felt material on the back of the seats and floor, which is why I decided to come here instead of doing it myself. I really didn't expect anyone to get it all out (but he did!) and I didn't expect the level of cleaning that they did for such a good price too. I know the employee (really wish I got his name now) worked really hard on my car and I'm honestly blown away at the level of quality and hard work. I hope he gets recognized in some way. I decided to get the interior membership now too so it won't be that bad with dog hair again. I will definitely be back and highly recommend them for a detail! I also got my 2nd car detailed yesterday and that also came out amazing, not nearly as much dog hair in that car, but the material seats they washed and those look great! I wish I could say less more about this establishment. They had to charge my credit card for the last seven months to sometimes three times per month by sending copies of bank statements, and they refuse to reimburse me or to offer me some type of discount I even have all the proof they said they were wasting too much time. The only conclusion they came up with, was to discontinue my membership. What a way to treat your customers. read more

Dust, dirt, dog hair, rock salt, dried leaves, dog hair, spare change, dog hair, lost M&Ms and French fries are just a few of the things lingering in my car that made me desperately need an interior detail. Did I mention DOG HAIR? The best part is that my decision to do this was somewhat impulsive, and I didn't need an appointment for just the interior detail, which cost me around $100. I drove over on a weeknight and, while it definitely took a long time (I think I was there more than 2 hours), it was worth it. I bought a bottle of water and sat in the waiting area. My car smelled nice and there wasn't a speck of any of that junk when I got my car back. The guy who worked on my car was apologetic about not being able to get all of the dog hair and told me that he went over it 3 times. I looked in my backseat and it appeared spotless to me! If you've got the time and money, the interior detail is well worth it. It's been about 4 months and my car still looks really good. read more

They are lucky to be getting 1 star and that is only because it won't let me post unless I rate them 1. -5. To be honest after my experience Delta Sonic deserves a ZERO! Delta Sonic will NEVER get another penny of my money! On April 28th I took my vehicle for a car wash and the long washing cloth strips got caught around my driver side mirror and ripped it off. I understand accidents can happen but it's how the business handles these situations that determines the quality of the business. Clearly when you read my story you will see Delta Sonic only cares about their bottom line and not the customer. When I realized what had happened I asked to speak to a manager and I had to fill out a claim form. I was told it could take 7-10 business days for an approval to fix the mirror. On the day of the accident they found the mirror and brought it to me, so clearly it happened in their car wash. I was told they had to check the videotape to make sure the mirror wasn't already coming off and the clerk even said he didn't see damage and that it should be approved which it was but I had to wait the FULL 10 days and I had to call to find it if it was approved. Even though they had my cell phone # and e-mail. I was also informed that they would order a replacement mirror and make sure it matched my vehicle and they would replace it! I'm sorry when have car wash employees beco me certified mechanics? So, I insisted that it be replace be a Jeep dealer with a certified part. I was told I had to get two estimates which I did. When I called back to give the the estimates I was told that would take another 3 days! WHAT? Once, again I had to call to find out which one they approved and to also find out that they approved less than half the cost! Are you kidding me? They didn't even cover the full cost of the part! I finally got me vehicle fixed today, 25 days after my driver side mirror was ripped off! Talk about not caring about their customers. I found it extremely dangerous to drive without the mirror. Got to the gas station at 11:30 am on a Sunday and was pleasantly surprised to find that gas was $.10 cheaper if you got a car wash....and it was a true savings based on the price at the gas station across the street. Only thing that sucks is you have to go inside to pay...... The line for the wash itself was a bit long and I probably sat for 5 minutes waiting to pay....I used a coupon I had bought prior...and it only took only a few minutes to get where they were spraying the cars before entering....still can't believe the guys with the power washers in 12 degree temperature spraying everything down. Wash itself was fairly quick, it stopped a few times because they dry the cars inside before they exit (too cold to do outside). When I got home it looked like almost all the salt/dirt had been removed the minivan. So, I'm just a little excited about the fact that the weather is stable enough to make washing my car worthwhile. And, since a surprising number of gas stations around here don't seem to have car washes (wtf?), I decided to shine my baby up the proper way. I had only ever driven past Delta Sonic, and from the street it looks like a fortress of car washing accoutrements. I went in and checked out the menu ($5 being lowest and on up from there; I got the second step up, touch-free wash). Then I had to drive around the building, through the stop sign, past the self-serve booths, knock three times for the troll under the bridge, etc. But at last I was lined up to enter the wash. I will say that the guys guiding you through were all more than a little impatient. I mean, I do have to line up my car in the groove or you will yell at me about that, so cool your jets for a minute. But once you get past all that, it's time for the Disco Car Wash Experience. For real. If you want comparatively cheap entertainment, take your kid for a spin through here. You enter into black lights, so the foam raining down onto your windshield glows with a freaky blue hue. As you go through, the overhead light changes color, and rope lights in various blinking colors arch above you. Really, this is the most fun I've had getting my car cleaned since...ever. The guys wiping down the car at the end did...not a bad job, but both windshield and the rear window were a bit smeared when I left. A squirt of wiper fluid fixed that, but really, I just spent 8 bucks on this, so that shouldn't be necessary... The price is a bit high, and the staff attitude was a bit much, but I'm sure at some point (like when I need the interior cleaned once there is no more chance of winter weather...) I had exceptional service from the minute I got out of my car. Stone was truly above and beyond from the moment he greeted me. He explained everything to me in detail about what he as going to do and was very reassuring that he was going to take great care of my vehicle. I watched him work his tail off on every inch of my car. I will say this guy truly turned my whole day around. I drove into delta sonic with my brand new Acura MDX covered in tar from the highway. I was a wreck! after interacting with him and being treated so kindly and watching him get every inch of my car looking beautiful again, I left there very pleased. Well, I've had several issues since 2014. I bought custom wheels for my prior vehicle in April 2017. After running my car through their wash several times in the 1st week I had the wheels I noticed gouge marks on the spokes of the driver side front wheel. I knew it had to have happen there. So the manager did a claim and reviewed it. They determined that since their rollers are nylon on the outside of the track that there was no way the wheels were damaged there. The manager walked through the wash with me and showed me why, which was nice. They handled it well but I still have my suspicions that it happened there. They weren't wide custom wheels either only 8 inches wide with standard 38mm offset. I have since sold that vehicle and the wheels as well. 10/01/17 I have a new car with 2 week custom wheels. I have been taking my car to the Naperville location since getting them on and haven't notice an issue. It's want until I used the Downers Grove location that I ran into trouble. I specifically told them that I haven't been to this location since getting my new custom wheels put on my car and I needed to be guided and straight onto the tracks. They guided me on I put it in neutral and that's where the problems began. Once the traffic started moving immediately heard a grinding noise and felt a grinding on the floorboard all the way through the car wash. I get it outside I dry it myself and upon further inspection I observed the entire backside of the driver side front wheel had been ground down well into the metal. The manager Ariel was notified and did the paperwork for the claim. Manager Ariel did admit that the in side metal piping of the track had ground down the finish in the metal on the inside of the rim of the wheel. I'm currently in the claims process with corporate... but. I have to know, with all the people that come in there with nice cars and custom wheels, I don't understand why they're still using an old track style versus the newer conveyor. I also don't know how they sustain business with all the wheel claim they likely get. I will update this claim process. 10/7/17 New pictures added Delta Sonic agreed to replace the driver side wheels with two brand new wheels. Since they are being replaced anyways, their claims adjuster rep Shaun informed me that they are eon the process of upgrading the inner royal to a nylon or plastic to prevent damage to the inside of the wheels. That being said, in the meantime he told me just run the car through the wash with damaged wheels and once they have the fix installed then they will install the new wheels, in case more damage occurs. I ran the car through the Naperville location on the evening of 10/7/17. As as I was guided on I knew something was wrong. My car movie for left to right and it felt like a bump or a jolt. As I moved through the wash I felt some more bumps that weren't the ordinary bumps. Once I got it of the wash I inspected the wheels out of curiosity and I fond damage to the outside of the driver's side wheels, with the most significant damage to the driver's side front wheel. The manager Mike looked at the wheels and took pictures to attach to the current claim. However he wasn't able to access the video of me entering the wash. I talked with Shaun again who said that a bare upon the pictures of the damage he was confident that it wheels weren't damaged there, which I'm not convinced is the case. I don't drive my car through drive thrus with curbs and don't work on the opposite side dog any one ways streets. Where else would damage happen? He said it "could have been a rock". A rock would not gouge out the paint of a wheel. Metal... or hitting a nylon roller with force would probably would. I'm left with questions on if I can rust this was my car. Even though they would likely take care of me again I the future, I just don't know I can go through this process again. I'm a patient individual, but I have reached the end. They're lack of attention to detail and to even entertain the idea that only on rollers or the wheels cleaner arm that extends could be causing damage with your not on the track evenly is lazy. Their manager, while his heart is in the right place and cares, told me to have a manager guide me on every time on come through. That's a pain in the rear. I don't know why they can't just get competent people guiding cars on to ensure that the car is placed on the track properly and so that the drivers side wheels don't ride up against or base into the rollers with force when coming onto the track off center. It has gotten to the point where I'm going to cancel my unlimited membership and either hand wash or use the Spirit of America stationary no track was and just hand dry my vehicle. Do yourself a favor... Don't go here unless you don't mind having your wheels trashed and/or enjoying gambling with your wheels getting trashed. I am cancelling my unlimited after 3 years of being a customer. read more

Touchless wash, my ass. I just spent my Father's Day buffing all the scratches out of my son's new Nissan Maxima after his first ever-wash on the new car Delta Sonic. It is not a touchless wash as they use an automated "mop" (for lack of a better word) to drag over the hood, roof and trunk before the rinse. They obviously never change the "mop strips which are full of dirt and grit which are dragged across the paint. The scratches ran from the front of the car all the way to the rear across the hood, roof and trunk lid in a straight line and some were so deep you could feel them with your fingernail. I told my kid he should have gone straight to the car wash manager and not wait for three days before deciding yo do something as now they would likely deny they did it. I got most of it out but some are too deep to simply buff out and a body shop will have to wet sand and buff them out as I don't want to take a chance doing that myself. If you hav a light colored car and don't care, this Delta Sonic is for you. If you have a dark color car and car about your car's appearance, my advice is stay away. read more

How have I not reviewed Delta Sonic Naperville??? This specific location as far as the car wash is concerned is the standard for which I judge car washes nationally as I travel for work. It just so happens Delta Sonic happens to also have the absolute best monthly plan in the country. I pay something like $12 bucks a month for unlimited washes at any Delta location nationwide. Seriously. I've tried and use all the chains. Their staff is always on point here. The guys and gals that dry down your car will happily let you use a clean damp towel if you need to wipe any inside or outside problem areas or wipe down your interior windows. Free vacuums that work. Did I mention thy have a lot? Their fast pass is seamless, no human interaction required. Hey sometimes it's quicker, too ;) All Deltas are great but this one is a cut above. Throw in the fact that they have an interior detailing department I use as well as a car care center with reasonable prices, it's always a pleasure to knock out more than one thing in one stop. Around Christmas they put on a killer light show. I try to make my way through it every year at least once! read more

Came in for an oil change. Waited for over half an hour before they got to my car. They are always slow doing the oil change but this is outrageous at 10:30 in the morning. No hustle or sense of customer service. UPDATE --So, two days after I got my oil change and wrote this review. I went out and bought an engine air filter and a cabin air filter and changed them myself. It was super easy and only did so because Delta Sonic had neither of them in stock. I noticed that they did not add ANY windshield wiper fluid as they are suppose to do. I just added 1/2 gallon of wiper fluid. My fiancé and I will no longer get our oil changed at Delta Sonic. They try to upsell you on services but you can't trust them to do what you paid them to due. As a business consultant, my recommendation to them is 1. Set the wait expectation with customers upfront and update them if circumstances change. 2. Check-in cars in their computer system so they have visibility to how long it takes to service cars. 3. Review a checklist at the end of service with customers to assure us you've done what you've said you'd do and what we've paid for. Sadly, I went there this morning to wash my car before I discovered they cheated me on wiper fluid...leaves doubts as to whether they added the proper oil and enough of it. read more

I have been coming here for years and as of later I have noticed they are NOT giving super kiss washes on the unlimited plan, watch close when you go by the first and second set of blue felts,when you get a super kiss they blast the sides and lights go on,regular wash it comes out in little stream. The old bait and switch has happened to me three times in last Month, brought to the attention of mike the manager and told me take up with corporate, he said sometimes we forget to hit this right button. Cmon man, Iam very disappointed that delta sonic is pulling a fast one on its customers. Keep eye out when you are there and make sure you're getting super kisses when you pay for it!!! It's ok.. I have the unlimited car wash membership. Some people who wipe you down are really good and detailed . The older people usually , the younger ones give you a quick cheap wipe and that's it . I look at my car later and I see dirt and water still that would have been gone if they wiped my car correctly ... Also their quick interior details SUCKKKKKK. DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY. I've gone and my boyfriend and every-time they leave HELLA DIRT ON THE DASH and radio etc. it looks like all they did was vacuum and spray the windows and I can do that for free .They do not pay attention to detail. They just mindlessly vacuum and wipe not paying attention. We've both had to call the guys to re-wipe. It's ridiculous. I'll keep my car washes for now but detail shop NEVER. Second time in two weeks I've sat in the "non-member" lane because of the long "hard sell process" they do to get customers signed up for the membership. The process creates a major delay. What a great business model, create such a pain point that you have to sign up for the fast lane. What a horrible process and a horrible way to treat your paying customers. For an already over priced car wash, you can expect extra long wait times because Delta Sonic cares more about profit than they do their customers. Searching out a new car wash. read more

I have had my cars detailed here 5 or 6 times and each time I've been disappointed. There was still a lot of dirt on the body and areas that had not been wiped or vacuumed. For $150 I would expect a much more thorough job. I've always assumed it was one lazy employee so I haven't stopped doing business there, but today I realized it's a pattern and it is foolish to pay $150 and expect a thorough detail job. I'd be willing to pay more for a detail job that actually pays attention to detail and gets the vehicle truly clean. Watching the employees working it just looks like many are just doing the minimum and not really taking pride in the work. Next time I'll find a different place or do it myself and keep the money. I realize most customers are on the plan and are getting the basic wash that is included with the plan. But detailing costs a lot more and should be a truly thorough job that doesn't leave the car dusty and sloppily vacuumed with bugs still stuck to the paint on the front. read more

Came in for a basic wash and 10-minute interior cleaning. The wash itself was fine but the interior cleaning was sloppy and obviously rushed. Upon inspection I found that the center console had not been vacuumed out at all, there were still tons of areas un-vacuumed, the rear view mirror was still filthy, and the interior car windows had not been wiped at all. The brochure and website clearly state that the package includes vacuuming and glass cleaning. The quality control manager told me that they had obviously done a bad job and would provide me with a free 30-minute interior cleaning because of it. Then another manager comes out and tells me I will not be getting a free cleaning and if I wanted more detail I should have bought the 30-minute cleaning. I point out the un-vacuumed areas and he says they can't be vacuumed because the debris is "in the fibers". I point out the dirty mirror and windows and he again says I should have bought the more expensive cleaning. Then why does their brochure say they clean windows and vacuum? I did not receive the promised 30-minute cleaning, but did get a refund. Then they had the nerve to say that wasn't their fault They do not stand behind their product. Don't take a chance with your car. read more

I pay for the unlimited wash and I literally have to go thru the car wash an unlimited amount of times to get it clean. Today, I've gone thru 3 times and I've yet to see if I'll need to go thru more. Went to Delta Sonic today to get a car wash, like a do every week. Today as I was getting my car washed I go to the end where they dry and clean the windows of your car and I always tip afterward, but today I did not have any cash on me. So as the guy finishes up he said "You're good", as I proceed to leave he is literally hanging on my car staring me down, like I just insulted his mother or something. He was very unprofessional and I recommend everyone go someplace else to get your car washed so you do not get harassed by them. Kim the wash was decent, not great, the rims still look the exact same as before I went, and it was not completely dried. Also Kim is it really up to you to determine if I felt as though I was being harassed? I don't think that is your call to make. Maybe focus on your employees and business before worrying about how a Yelp review is worded! I asked the attendant when I purchased the wash if I could add a tip to the card, which she said no. This carwash is usually packed unless you go Mon-Thur. I love the fact that I can just sit in my car and relax while my car is getting washed. This service is great to have during the winter as well. The carwash sprays under your car to prevent rust from the salt trucks etc. This is done on every wash. My car is always shiny and clean after leaving this place and it is free to use the vacuums. During your carwash your car is cleaned, under sprayed, waxed and dried. I pay for the monthly membership which is currently only $14.99 and well worth every dollar! The membership used to cost $19.99. The membership offers unlimited washes which is basically one carwash per day. One time birds went in on my little car while I was at work. I walked outside and was horrified and embarrassed! LOL. I hopped in my little car and went straight to Sonic! I have never been so grateful for my Sonic carwash membership! LOL. read more

I have been an unlimited wash client for years, car wash is ok to avoid rust; nothing great but ok. Today I decided to pay $35 for a "30 minutes interior clean" that was a total waste of money. First, it took them 6 minutes. The excuse was that it was two people for 6 minutes... still doesn't add up but... ok. When I got home and checked the back of the car I couldn't tell if they had done anything at all! It was a complete waste of money! All dog hair still there, seats were not even wiped with a cloth. You should be ashamed of stilling money from customers with such a poor service. I was considering other services, such as hand wax, but after this experience I'll be looking for another car wash to never come back here. read more
