Hate to add this bad review because until this last repair we were pleased with Delux Auto. We had Mr. Ed put in a NEW motor in our Ford F150. We paid just under 10k for it. He told us that he was going to give us " the whole enchilada" he stated that he was putting his best man on the job. Once complete and after being driven several miles, low coolant light came on w aux fan. Were told the engine had to burp. We almost burnt out the motor because we didn't know they did not burp it... they left us to do it without even telling us...next a few weeks later, it was taken in to Ford for an oil pressure light sensor on. Mr Ed's best man tightened the oil filter so tight he made a hole in the filter which was dripping out the oil that he put in it. And the oil pressure sensor light had to be replaced. I continue to have problems.We had to replace the radiator hose and a leaky reservoir. And during all this time, the aux fan stays on and is super loud even if truck is cold. A few months later, we could hear a ticking from the passenger side, which increased loudness over a period of a week. Once it was inspected, it was found that there was an exhaust leak from the exhaust manifold gasket to the head. And last but not least.. a few minths later, the truck is misfiring and actually turning off on us. Turns out, spark plugs and coils were never changed out. They use the same spark plugs and coils from the old engine and put it in the new engine. I'm sure this will avoid any warranty that ford would have given us. If you use this place just know it's hit or miss. read more

What you will get at Deluxe Auto Service: good and fast work some of the time. What you won't get at Deluxe Auto Service: any sort of customer service. I was raving about Deluxe Auto Service after they saved me on fixing my Lincoln. Nobody would do a repair with a used part and Deluxe stepped in and did the repair. They forgot to communicate that it would be $200 more than they quoted me, but I was happy to get the job done so didn't think much of it. Fast forward a few months and I've brought them several of my vehicles as I own a fleet, all for various things. They did great suspension work on my Chrysler Town & Country minivan using parts I ordered from Amazon. They did fix the electrical components that prevented my Chevrolet Captiva trunk from opening, albiet at a cost I thought was higher than expected, a theme that started repeating itself here. The problems really started when I brought in one of my vehicles and they backed another one of my vehicles into it causing body damage to both vehicles. They were apologetic that day, but on future jobs they kept bringing up how it cost them money to fix these vehicles. I didn't file an insurance claim and ignored that the vehicles were not 100% returned to their original condition following their accident, but yet they felt justified in overcharging me and underdelivering on their work. I bought them a Chrysler 200 with a specific issue and they charged me a reasonable $200 for the fix, and as I drove off the lot the exact same issue was there. I showed their mechanic right away and he heard the issue, but after leaving the vehicle with them they never figured it out and never fixed anything, and yet somehow I paid $200 for who knows what repair that wasn't done. The end of the line when I came in with a Hyundai Accent with some engine trouble. I paid the $100 diagnosis to be told it needed new catalytic converter, which I approved the job. They suppsoedly put in a new catalytic converter and then told me well no, that wasn't the issue, and the car needs a whole new motor. I told them to just put it back and I'll come pick it up along with the initial diagnosis. When I came in to pick it up, they insisted on charging me $400 total for the diagnosis plus labor on a job that was mis-diagnosed. I asked for their full diagnosis and all I was given was a handwritten piece of paper saying "car need catalytic converter" and then "Customer was advised they needed new engine." That is NOT a diagnosis. I requested a more formal write-up of the diagnosis for insurance puposes and was told I'd have one the next day. The next day I followed up via phone and was told it would come by the NEXT day. Today was the next day and when I called, they denied they ever told me anything would come and that they "don't have time to email a diagnosis." From being blamed for their accident to having cars misdiagnosed and paying for phantom repairs to being told they don't have time to deliver the service they charged me for, I can no longer recommend Deluxe Auto Service. read more

She scammed me, when I could have gotten a nail out of my tire for free at Discount Tires. It was my mistake for not calling ahead and asking, but I won't be coming here again. Mind you my trip was to St. Louis, Missouri so I had a long way to go and I found this shop by looking up mechanics near me on Google. I showed up with concerns of not knowing whether I'd be able to drive up to St. Louis for my winter break from school mid day Friday but deluxe auto shop was so sure to get me back on road that same night that they even stayed opened past their closing hours. They even topped me off on all fluid I didn't even know I was low on and checked absolutely everything even 3 hours after they closed to make sure I would make it to my family in St. Louis, Missouri. These people are family oriented and have the customers best interest. They have a heart the size of Texas and I promise you they're the most genuine and sincere business you'll come across. I can't emphasize enough how great this place is! If anyone needs auto work done I would suggest this place every time. I recently had my headlight busted on my car. After calling all around the area to get quotes/time estimates, I was not too impressed...until I called Deluxe Auto Service. Ed was so friendly and ended up giving me an extremely fair price and said that he could have it finished in 2-3 hours (every other place said I would have to leave it for hours or overnight). I recommend this shop with love in my heart! My roommate and I have both been taking our vehicles here for 2 years for oil changes and repairs. Today, my battery died completely. I could not get it to the shop without towing it, so they came to me. I happen to live about 500 yards away, but this is the kind of service you can't get anymore. I have never EVER had such GREAT service with an auto service place. I was in desperate need of an oil change, and usually I stop off at the nearest chain. I went to the Honda dealership for a (free) safety recall repair, which also included a free inspection. They tried to sell me on $1500 of work, which you expect in these circumstances, all of which was extremely overpriced and about 1/3 of which later turned out to be unnecessary. I was also not satisfied with the estimate I received from Kwik Kar, as I felt they were trying to squeeze in as many labor hours as possible, and at a high hourly rate (25% higher than Deluxe). Well, I had none of these problems at Deluxe Auto Service! The owner and employees were friendly and helpful in explaining anything I didn't understand. They found cheaper ways to take care of my old car (example: rotors only needed to be resurfaced, not replaced) and pointed out the unnecessary upcharges on my other quotes. They let me bring in a couple of parts that I bought online to save a little bit of money (and use the cabin air filter of my choice), which I appreciated. The charges for other parts needed were far less than expected (a "timing belt kit" that was $190 at Kwik Kar was now $60 in essential parts). They even went the extra mile and cleaned the fogged-up inside of my headlights at no charge. I was impressed with their ability to constantly keep me updated on the status of my car, as so many places are too busy/don't care and never call you to tell you your car is ready. I'm SO pleased. Stay away from this place. I took my vehicle in because my air conditioner wasn't blowing very cold air but it was tolerable. We are taking a trip next weekend and figured the temp it was blowing was not up to par with so many people in the car at 100 degrees outside. Then, $130 later it only blows hot air. It's miserable. This was the mechanics attempt at convincing me to spend $600 on replacing my hose. $600 this gringo don't have. And if I did he would not get my business. Now I'm $130 poorer and have no air conditioning what-so-ever. read more

I went today bc of Ellie B's Review and I agree. Ed is fair, honest, fast, nice, and humble. He fixed a hole in m tailpipe in under an hour for $120. The amount he quoted on the spot when I drove in. This fix required cutting and welding a new section instead of replacing a muffler and various other sections. I highly recommend Ed and Deluxe. Ed, Junior and all the folks at Deluxe Auto are outstanding! Ed listened to my list of the cars symptoms, the problems are intermittent, the hardest to find and fix on a '97 Jeep G.C.Laredo. Ed and Jr. are both knowledgeable and helpful answering all my questions. They worked on it, replacing things they found that were broken for a very reasonable amount of money, i got it back and drove it for a while but some problems returned. Ed said to bring it back. He has bent over backwards to make certain the problems are fixed. Their customer service is INCREDIBLE! I recommend them to anyone, they are my guys from now on.
