I see Bertussi's has a very bad rap here. I think three pricing may be a bit high, but these guys…read morehave saved our butts more times than I can count. One of the owners, I can't remember his first name, but his last name was definitely Bertussi, came to help up in the middle of the night, when a pipe had burst in our carriage house in the dead of winter. Water was pouring into the garage and he waded in there and stopped the leak. We've used them ever since. They are reliable, do good work and are kind people.

Bertussi's but here goes a very honest review.. We called…read moreup, got prompt reply and had an appointment for them to come out and extract the Freon out of an AC. They said they would give a call 20 minutes prior to arriving which they did when they were outside in van number one which turned up at 2:34 he sat in the van for 15 minutes then got out came up to the door asked where ithe unit was? I showed him and he told me he needs power, I plugged in the extension cord and he went back on the phone for 10 minutes at which time another van turned up. Young gentleman got out, went and looked came back, took out his equipment . This was 2:50 (I have it on the ring )at 3:08 The same young gentleman put his tools back in the van and was done. He then came to the front door and got his extension cord unplugged. he said in the van on his phone and relaxing until the first van came back which was at 3:40. They then came to the front door at 3:43 to be paid for which they charge an hour and a half and their price was not what we were quoted on the phone. It's not our first time to use Bertussi's and they always get the job done well but this is totally inefficient to charge for people sitting around in their vans and for being on their phones. If you're a junior that needs a senior to come and do the billing that shouldn't be on the customer. Our first experience we also got overcharged by $150 this time the same unbelievable shame on you for a local business Stop delaying and adding extra time and overcharging your customers shame on you

This USED to be a reputable company. I've exclusively used them for big ticket items, whole house…read morecentral AC, generator, etc. Unfortunately, the rumors are true since being bought out. I called for an easy problem that I thoroughly researched first and knew what I wanted. Ended up with 3 leaks that I didn't have prior to them coming and a broken relay switch that was working fine. After 5 visits and $3,000 wasted, my "new problems" were still not fixed and they want another $1k before continuing to work.

A few weeks ago my Generac Home Generator stopped working. I found out that Clarkston Heating and…read moreAir Conditioning in Rockland was a registered dealer of Generac to fix my unit. They sent a repairman out to check out the unit and he suggested after spending less than 10 minutes looking at it, that the engine was damaged and even though the motor was guaranteed by Generac, the cost of repair would be about $6000 and it would be better to buy a new one. He said it would take two people to repair it and it would take about two days. To say I was shocked was an understatement. I made a few calls with help from Generac and my local electrician who installed the electricity hookup suggested a dealer in New Jersey, (Benson Ver Hage Electric) who also gave me an estimate. He also concluded that my engine did need replacement. He also said the engine was covered under warranty but the labor was separate. His attitude was much more friendly and professional than the first guy and he spent at least a full hour checking out the whole unit as opposed to the time of 10 minutes that the first repairman did. He was a very pleasant fellow and when I told him that the other serviceman said it would be about $6000 he was shocked. He said the cost would b $750 to repair it and it would be done in one day. His specialty was only all house generators , He came back a week later and spent at least three hours repairing it and did an incredible job. The unit now works as well as the day it was installed which was about 4 years. He even cleaned up the oil that accumulated on the concrete base of the generator. Looking back now I realized that the original company was not being honest with me. The new company I used was Benson Ver Hage Electric Inc in Midland Park,NJ. The people they sent were so kind and knowledgeable and really knew what they doing. They came on time and I am so pleased with the work they did and the attitude and how they treated me. I am 82 years old and handicapped and they, unlike the first company treated me honestly and did a fantastic job. It's obvious that the first company was only out to make money at my expense or just didn't want to do the job.
