We arrived and asked for a table for 6, the dining room was busy so they said it would be a few minutes. Then 3 more of our group we hadn't expected arrived and the hostess quickly let the servers know to make our table larger. We only had to wait 8 or 9 minutes and were seated in the side dining room which was great as it was not crowded so it was easy to talk without a lot of ambient noise from the more crowded main room. I believe one of the assistant managers began taking drink orders as our designated server was finishing up some tables nearby. She had a great sense of humor and quickly went to get our drinks. FYI, they have both an All Day menu and a lunch special one which we hadn't seen before a their website so that is an option and is a bit less expensive with smaller servings than the All Day one. As it was April 15, they had a special small Tax Day menu where everything was prices at $4.15! What a cute idea! We all ordered our lunches and soon we were enjoying what was brought out. I had the special lentil soup and the blackened salmon tacos, my wife had the 1/2 lb classic burger and the house made potato chips. Everything was excellent. Glad we stopped by for our group lunch.

Not wanting to call it quits, I phoned the next closest location off I-45 near Beltway 8 and was told the wait would be about an hour. Since it was only about 20 minutes away, we headed over. When we arrived, I immediately noticed the restaurant had been rebranded from Pappas Seafood House to Pappadeaux. Once inside, I was surprised when the hostess informed me the wait was actually closer to two hours. I explained that I'd just spoken with someone on the phone who quoted a much shorter wait time. Thankfully, another hostess, Ellen, stepped in and worked some magic, offering us an available table almost immediately. That completely changed the trajectory of our evening. I summoned the kiddo from the car, who was fully prepared for a long wait, and we were escorted to a comfortable booth tucked away in the back corner of the bar area. Lesli was our server, and she did a solid job despite the Father's Day crowd. We both ordered the Shrimp & Chicken Tenderloins platter--he went with the medium ($21.95) and I opted for the large ($28.95), both served with French fries. I also added a side of dirty rice ($5.95). The restaurant was packed, so the complimentary bread arrived at the same time as our meals, but that's easy to overlook on a busy holiday. What matters is that the food delivered exactly what we've come to expect from Pappadeaux. The shrimp was perfectly fried--crispy on the outside and tender inside. The chicken tenderloins were thick, juicy, and flavorful, not the dry, overcooked strips you get at lesser establishments. The dirty rice was a great addition and rounded out the meal nicely. We've never been disappointed by the shrimp and chicken at Pappadeaux, and this visit was no exception. I started with the shrimp and crawfish fondue with garlic toast, and it was exceptional -- a rich, creamy, cheesy Cajun‑style dip loaded with sautéed shrimp, crawfish, mushrooms, and spinach, baked until bubbly and full of flavor. For my entrée, I ordered the fried catfish with red beans and rice, and it was just as impressive. Everything was seasoned well, cooked perfectly, and served hot. Our server, Bri, was amazing. She made the entire experience even more enjoyable with her warm personality and attentive service. She was accommodating, on top of everything we needed, and truly did an outstanding job. We also learned from the hostess that this location has only been reopened under the Pappadeaux's name for about two weeks -- and they are already operating like a well‑oiled machine. I had the salmon eggs benedict, as I always do... It did not taste good at all. The Salmon didn't taste like real fish. Tags were bland and the only thing I really liked were the fresh red onions. Bummer. Now, I always like to wash it down with a purple haze... Thankfully it was still really tasty. Maybe the cooks were tired. *Shrugs* Lol. They close at 2:30 and I came in at 2:00 The inside was pretty empty with only maybe four tables in use.
