Came for breakfast this morning and overall experience was so so. Took a while to be seated even though there were plenty of open tables. I think the problem was the line to pay and line to be seated were the same so I had to wait for everyone in front of me to pay before I could tell them how many in my party. Food took a while to come out and wasn't too good. The sausage tasted really weird to me. Only thing I liked was the hash brown. Think I will pass returning to this location in the future.

This Dennys is located in the historic Van de Kamp building in Arcadia. The interior is remodeled and is still clean and relatively new. The three star Yelp average is probably about right for this business and here's why ... The food prices, quality, and quantity are abut in keeping with their history and relative to other comparable restaurants like McDonalds. For example, MickyD's hotcakes are probably cheaper, but Dennys has better quality but not as good as more expensive places like Broken Yolk, but about the same as IHOP. The service was mixed. There were three men helping everyone when we got there and they were joined by a younger lady later who just worked the register. The seater and busboy seemed like they should be retired and it was sad they were still working. The waiter was overworked and serving too many tables. Consequently, service was slow even though he was working really hard. We do not blame him one bit. He did the best he could. Overall, we would not come here again. It is just not like the historic Denny's of the past. Parking is in the back with an ample lot. Come before 8:00-8:30 or so before they get crowded on the weekends.

This Denny's location has been the "spot" for my friends and I for years. If I don't get food I'll just get a cup of hot chocolate, with free refills, and just chill with friends. The staff are always really chill which is nice. Especially when you are on your 4th cup of hot chocolate.

I love their under $10 deal!! And the unlimited hot chocolate is great. Service is always great. This is the perfect late night dinner spot!

Today is New Year's Eve and the end of 2024, they are still open for lunch (not sure if they are actually open 24/7). We wanted to grab our free birthday meal using the Debby's reward program. I ordered in store before I realized I can either order online or in person. The place looks really festive during the holidays. They renovated it and it's different from other Dennys. The staff helping us was really quick and friendly, ordered and got our receipt. We only had to wait 20-30 minutes and off we went! It came with plastic utensils, two pancakes, two syrups, two butter cups, eggs (scrambled), sausage, and bacon. What's better than breakfast for lunch? Free birthday breakfast for lunch!

I met friends at this Denny's located on the corner of Huntington Dr. and Santa Anita Ave for dessert. Our waiter Ray was very nice. I ordered the oven backed caramel apple pie crisp with coffee. That was the best dessert ever. It comes with a generous scoop of vanilla ice cream. I look forward to my next visit.

We had a bad server named Francisco. He took our order. Like any other server does. I asked for hot sauce. He then walked away and never brought it. Then he avoided us the whole time we sat eating our food. I asked for coffee and again never came back. I noticed he got someone else order wrong. He takes his food away and make a face like it was the customer fault he got the order wrong. We payed our bill complaint to the manager on duty. He the say we was falling behind. I can understand if he was extremely busy. But he was not. If you get him good luck. If you have the pleasure of getting Jason he is a great server.

This was my first visit after it re-opened. This Denny's is near and dear to the hearts of many Arcadians. The windmill, located on the corner of Santa Anita and Hungtington, is an iconic landmark in the city of Arcadia. We got here for an early dinner at 6pm and there as no wait. Our server Joselyn F, was friendly and attentive. We ordered mozzarella sticks, a club sandwich and a decaffeinated coffee. The club sandwich was delicious ! They didn't skimp on the ingredients and the seasoned fries were addictive. The mozzarella sticks were perfect too. I enjoyed the decaf house coffee too which she brewed a new pot just for me. The food was exactly what me and my daughter were craving for. The interior looked similar to what it looked like before the fire burnt the restaurant down (so I was told). In fact, I think there is a less of a greasy smell which I welcomed. And Joselyn even gave us an extra marina sauce to take home after I asked. I am happy that my neighborhood Denny's is not only back in business but back with better service and a cleaner smell!

Stopped by for breakfast after picking up a friend who had a medical procedure. The dude was hungry and this was close. The server seated us right away and brought coffee asap. The food was good, my friend had the 9-Grain Pancake Slam and I ordered the All-America Slam with scrambled. The bacon was not as crispy as I would like, but good hash browns. Overall a good meal and good value. Service was prompt and plenty of parking in the lot.

Super Slam: Two buttermilk pancakes, two sausage links, two bacon strips, two eggs and hash browns ...$9.99: nice!

Will the Denny's at Santa Anita and Huntington Drive ever reopen? There is a fence around the building, signs that say "remodel" but no service trucks in sight. What a shame if this business permanently closes and gets demolished.

They are supposed to officially open October 28, 2023; we'll see!

Way to support great local businesses who are sharing their passion! Moffett's Family Restaurant & Chicken Pie Shoppe is 1 out of the 24 participating restaurants in the MySGV food passport. My 3rd restaurant visited and stamp acquired. Nice! I have previously visited Moffett's twice for take-out only. My most recent visit was for dine-in. Interior has a quaint country home diner feel to it. Lots of inside bench and stool seatings. Desiree was my server. She was exceptionally attentive and made sure I got what I needed at all times. Thanks Dez! Here is their free food offering... 1 Chicken Pot Pie and 1 Slice of Dessert Pie for dine-in only. Wow, that's a great food and dessert combo! Thank you Moffett's! In addition to the chicken pot pie and slice of peach pie (my choice of fruit), I also got their Moffett's Melt with turkey (they offer chicken, too) plus homemade chicken noodle soup (you could get salad instead). Just one word, DELICIOUS! Food came out pipping hot. Flavors were amazing! Chicken pot pie had dark meat which I prefer. Good size and lots of moist and tender chicken chunks. It was covered with too much gravy though. I'll ask for the gravy to be on the side next time. As for the pie, it was okay... too much filling and not enough peaches. Crust was the highlight of the pie... very light and flaky with just enough sweetness! PERFECTION! Moffett's Melt had fresh lettuce and tomatoes with lots of crispy bacon strips and sweet turkey slices... highly recommend! Love the chicken noodle soup... so many chicken chunks! VERY GOOD! So glad I got a chance to dine-in. I look forward to future dine-ins and take-outs. Come check out Moffett's and support your neighborhood's family restaurant!

The food here is over priced and lacking taste. The pastry they use for their pot pies and sweet pies is like eating card board. Don't get me started about their use of canned vegetables and what appears to be powdered potatoes, and if they are not, congratulations on recreating powdered potatoes while using real ones. I'm guessing there are a few nursing home residents who enjoy them. Finally for choosing their restaurant to spend your hard earned money in, they reward you with a 3% charge when you use a credit card, which restaurants have always absorbed as a courtesy to the customers who choose their restaurant to eat at. I've worked in the restaurant industry for over 50 years. When you start nickel and dimming your customers every time they eat at your restaurant, when you are already treating them to the cheapest food products, let's face it, are you actually still in business? We went inside and it definitely has a rustic old-timey feel with the red leather booths and all the artwork and memorabilia around the restaurant. Overall, the visit was very good. I had the following for dinner: For an appetizer, I had the spiced meatballs. They were absolutely delicious, cooked to perfection and had an amazing sauce. I also got to try the calamari, which was equally as incredible. For the entree, I had the bacon wrapped filet. Again, cooked to perfection and the taste was wonderful. The side was definitely not quite right. I got the garlic mashed potatoes. They were the most plain potatoes I have ever had. No garlic, no salt, no seasoning. I think they might have accidentally missed the seasoning. For dessert, I tried the bread pudding. It was good; however, I was expecting more from the dessert. Our server was on the face very nice; however, he also was very robotic in his responses. For example, he never let you finish your answer after he asked a question, before replying again and walking away. So overall, an excellent experience. I would return again and give it another try!

Service was exceptionally friendly and generally attentive, though it was a bit of a drag getting my bill settled as the lone server kept getting distracted by other tables and customers. Well, I got the State burger with no pickles and no thousand island sauce. I added bacon for $2.00 and swapped out the potato chips for fries for $1.50. It's happy hour all day until dinner, so the burger was discounted from $16 to $12, which is a good deal. The burger tasted great. The fries were good. The freshness of the lettuce and tomato on the burger actually stood out. I never realized how often you get slightly wilting lettuce at other places until I bit into this super fresh, crisp lettuce. I know that's a weird thing to mention, but it stood out. The only complaint I actually had was the amount of meat used in the burger patty. I think it's very small. They also sell a double smash burger, and I almost felt like this was a smash burger, cause the patty is so thin. It's not, but it's a disappointingly small amount of meat. Still, if you want drinks, it's a lovely looking bar. As I said, service is great. And I will come back for the burger. It's good and cheap, though I would gladly pay five dollars more for more meat. This time the burger was all I tried, but I can recommend. Give it a try for their all afternoon happy hour and the drinks.

I started out with the Coughlin's Law cocktail (Aviation gin, house infused vanilla syrup, fresh lemon, egg white, lavender bitters, $16). It was a good light drink with light vanilla and lemon flavor. I always love a good foam top too. She started out with a Basil Paloma (Herradura silver tequila, muddled basil & grapefruit, fresh grapefruit juice, lime, simple syrup, seltzer, $15). It had good grapefruit and basil flavor, and was nicely balanced. We ordered the buffalo cauliflower appetizer ($14). The cauliflower was supposed to be grilled, but it seemed almost raw. The buffalo sauce definitely had a good kick. For my entrée, I had the Black Angus Basin Burger (manchego cheese, carmelized onions, arugula, special sauce, brioche bun, $19). The burger was excellent. The cheese, carmelized onions, and arugula was a great flavor combo. The fries were good, but I'd order them more crispy next time. She had the two taco plate with fish and potato tacos ($15). The taco shells were freshly fried, and it was a filling plate that she enjoyed. We had one more round of drinks and I had the Billionaire cocktail (Old Forrester 100 proof bourbon, lemon, house made grenadine, absinthe, $16). This was excellent. It was very balanced, and not boozy at all with a very light sweetness. Her second was the Smoke and Fire (Peloton de la Muerte mezcal, Ancho Reyes liqueur, muddled jalapeno & orange, fresh lime, agave, chili salt, $15). It was pretty well balanced with a medium smokiness. It definitely had a kick of heat on the finish. Our server Lakyn was friendly and provided good service. The menu prices are cash prices. There is an extra 3.5% surcharge if you pay with a credit card. The buffalo cauliflower appetizer was mostly a miss, but everything else was very good so I'm rounding up to five stars. They have a very good sized cocktail and food menu, as well as many beers on tap. They also have happy hour specials. We would definitely return if we were in the area again.

All the various BJs locations seem to have different specials that rotate. On our visit this time, there was a three course meal pizookie special. There was a choice of soup or salad, entree from a list, and choice of pizookie. We got the pizza, wedge salad, and triple chocolate and chocolate chunk pizookies. All of the food was just ok. None was bad, but none was exceptional either. The best items were the pizookies. On this visit, two servers helped us as the first one went to a different section when the new one came on shift. Both of them were very nice and attentive and offered a quality of service that far outmatched the quality of the food. The restaurant was pretty full already even at about 4:00-4:30 for an early dinner on a Sat and was quite noisy between the talking and background music. The restaurant seems centered on the bar which has decent TVs to watch games. We also got a standard margarita with a salted rim. The quality was also just ok, but we like the way they make them. It was consistent with other BJs locations. This BJs is a nice place to have a casual family meal or hang out with friends in the bar to see a game or just chat. We did not see a happy hour menu or advertisement like at other BJs locations, but perhaps we were just there on the wrong day and time.
