The mix, thank you Nelly!! it

got the Mix thank you, Nelly! It was my first time here with my family, and we weren't sure what to order. She recommended the Mix, and I have to say she was absolutely right. My family loved it! Everything tasted amazing, super juicy, and perfectly cooked. The food was spectacular, and we'll definitely be coming back. Thanks again, Nelly, for the great recommendation!

Hadn't been to ono in a while, ordered the fire chicken and katsu combo. Food this visit took quite a while, but the cashier/shift leader, apologized and let us try two drinks which was nice of her. Her customer service was very nice. Food came out hot n fresh. If you like spicy the fire chicken is really good, and if you want to try a little bit of everything get the combo came with chicken, beef and the katsu their hot sauce packet is really good too. The restaurant was clean, bright and had cool decor and we received a scratch ticket because of Chinese new year I believe which was nice of them. Came hungry, left full.

Wow! Cute mini tote bag with keiki meal this time. Bbq chicken pieces were generous too! ( I'm not complaining...) I substituted scoop of rice for the macaroni salad instead . Pleasant meal in a clean restaurant. Fun Hawaiian style music to enjoy as well.

This Ono Hawaiian BBQ is located in the same plaza as Daiso. I have only tried Ono Hawaiian BBQ once, which was back in January and at the Glendora location. Since my husband and I were in the area this past Saturday evening, we decided to make an online order and pick up in person for dinner. I ended up choosing: Island White Fish Aloha Plate, $12.99 prior to tax- The aloha plate comes with 2 scoops of steamed white rice and a side salad. I don't know why I thought the fish was going to be grilled, so I was surprised to see 4 pieces of fried fish in my to go box (lol, apparently I didn't realize most of the items at this eatery is fried, nor do I pay attention to detail). But I actually really liked the fish. It had a nice light flavor of ginger, which was nice it wasn't overpowering. And because of the portion size of this meal, I shared it with my mom. She also really liked the fish. I liked the salad and felt it was a nice large portion. The rice was perfectly cooked (no soggy or squishy rice here). -------------------------------- ($14.26 after tax) My order was ready upon the time promised online, which was nice. However, I had to wait to pick up my meal because the employee seemed to have trouble finding my name. She also said my name wrong twice so I think that must have contributed to the delay. I think service could have been a little better, but overall, we had a good experience. I would consider coming back again in the near future.

Hats off to the cook. My first time trying the fish and it was raw and mushy. I ripped open the other piece to check and same. I already ate the first bite. If I have the runs later i know why

Nice & quick service! I appreciate how they welcome you in and my order was ready in about 5 minutes. Food was fresh & hot which I enjoyed! Katsu was crispy, bbq beef & chicken were seasoned well. I was hungry and everything hit the spot. I am a sucker for their mac salad. Meat was a little greasy but mac salad & abundance of boiled veggies help cut the grease. This one order can be eaten twice because of how big the serving is!

Surprisingly, I've never been to this particular chain restaurant before. I was pleasantly surprised and shocked when we walked in; every individual greeted us like any other restaurant. I ordered the katsu plate, which came with some sweet-tasting beef, fried katsu, and two pieces of chicken thigh. Alongside that, I also ordered spam musubi (2 pieces). I would say that the two sauces provided (one is like teriyaki and the other is a little more tangy) were great compliments. My favorite meat was the chicken thighs; they were juicy and tender. However, the only downside was the spam musubi. For being almost $7.00, they were underwhelming. I'll definitely come back again in the future to try out the other selections as well. The service was a 10/10, which is very rare to see in a chain restaurant.

I like this Temple City location of Ono Hawaiian BBQ! The food is constantly good and the customer service is polite. Can't go wrong with a Hawaiian BBQ lunch plate at a great value. If your not too worried about carbs, do get extra macaroni salad: they prepare it very well here (flavorful and al dente). Their meats are tasty and doesn't need extra sauce, but it's there if needed. We like it here at Ono Hawaiian BBQ better then L&L Hawaiian!

Deep fried seafood is always my favorite and weak spot when it comes to appetizer. Stopped by this Hawaiian BBQ restaurant to fulfill my cravings after a long day running errands, ordered this crispy shrimp and they were quite amazing. The dining area is very spacious and clean. Staffs are very friendly throughout the dining experience. Shrimp is very fresh and tender, the breading is golden brown crispy, every bite is full of different flavors and textures. Very satisfied and highly recommended. By the way, their customer service is on point, friendly and helpful.  Crispy Shrimp $7.59 -6 pieces of crispy breaded shrimp

Refund only for the Nasty haired fry chicken!

I could like to give Minus 5 starts if available. I paid one of expensive combos for Lunch. Cashier told me eight mins waiting for my meal. I got 15 mins later. First. Try to move first pc of chicken Katsu, So I can add the sauce to my vegetables. Per pictures, you will see a long black hair. I ask the manager to come over, she refused by asking me to the counter. I asked her for a refund and gift card compensation. She only give me a refund without any apology! Excellent Customer service, you did great Job, Leslie! Hope people buying chicken Katsu today, do not get sick or diarrheal!

I had a free lunch, thank you Ono Hawaiian BBQ, the restaurant, and Thuy, our SGV community manager of YELP. It was my first time attending a YELP Elite event, and so excited. I drove there around 1130 am and drove into the plaza from Rosemead Ave, I didn't see any reception or any sign of YELP. Did I misunderstand the time or date? I walked into the restaurant, and only two clients sat inside and were eating their food. I went to the counter and fortunately, the waitress knew the event. She took the RSVP list out and gave me a QRCode card for me to check-in. I got two canvas bags, one from ONO and another from Yelp. I like the Yelp one with a slogan on it, that says MY PHONE EATS FIRST. I also got a temporary tattoo stick, a pin, and a coupon card from the restaurant as a gift. I also got the 2023 Yelpie trophy and Yelpie glass in a separate pack which Thuy had dropped there in advance. Yes, I won the 2022 Yelpie Award but I missed the squad ceremony. I am still learning the functions of the APP. I ordered Kalbi Short Ribs, not because it's the most expensive one, it's because I am a fan of BBQ short ribs, no matter in the Japanese, Korean or American way to BBQ, as long as it's in Flanken style. The Flanken style means the ribs are cut across the bone. Each piece has three to four short sections of bone with a generous portion of meat around them. Normally they are pre-marinated, good for the grill, and much more tender than English Cut, which is normally for braise or stew. It was quick, less than 10 minutes, I got the food. In a delivery bag, there were two boxes, one big and one small, one small container of salad dressing, one fork, and four pieces of tissue. The big box was hot and heavy, I opened it and found 3 pieces of flat short ribs laid at the top, underneath were boiled cabbage, boiled broccoli, rice, and a scoop of Macaroni Salad. I realized I couldn't finish those ribs by only having a plastic fork. I went to the self-service counter and took a knife, also I asked the waitress and got a pair of chopsticks. Thumbs up, they provide chopsticks. The short ribs were tender and juicy, very well seasoned, nice grilled. The only pity was that the meat attached to the bone can't be torn off, they were hard and stuck with the bone. You must try the teriyaki sauce, it's authentic and sweet, I love it. Don't forget it if you are picking take-away, it's on the self-service counter but not in the default package. The boiled vegetables were boiled well, you also can't get soy sauce from the self-service counter. The rice was soft and steamed well and the whole portion was big, enough for an adult. I also had the vegetable salad as the side, it combined with Shredded lettuce, shredded cabbage, julienne carrots, julienne onions, and edamame. Yes, edamame, interesting? But less than 10 pcs of it. The salad was fresh and cold, I liked it. It was becoming crowded when I sat there and had my lunch, more than ten groups walked in, either sat down or took the take-away. Some suggestion: More salad dressing, the dressing in the small plastic bowl was only can be used for half the size of the salad. Provides Shichimi in the restaurant. Don't know what is the Shichimi? The red chili powder you can find in Yoshinoya, Shichimi in Japanese literally means ground 7 chilis and spices. I can add a lot of flavors to the rice and boiled vegetables. Food presenting way. I guess because of COVID, the food was in the box even for dine-in. Otherwise, I strongly recommend that serve the food on a plate for dine-in, it can make the food more like a dinner instead of a lunchbox. TK Cafe has thoroughly impressed me off first impression, and if I was closer, I'd probably be a regular here. For how much we ordered, the food didn't take too long to come out and genuinely, was so good. We got a lot here, from the garlic shrimp to the popcorn chicken, and so much more. The popcorn chicken was, without a doubt, my favorite item. We originally came here because a friend said they had the best popcorn chicken, and I'd honestly agree. It was crispy but also still a bit juicy and I feel like most places go heavily into the crisp aspect and it ends up just seeming overcooked. But it was a 10/10 here. The proportions are huge, so it's easy to over order. The crab rangoons were good on the portions and crispness and not overly filled with cream cheese which is nice. The noodles were good, pretty average, same with the Mac salad. The garlic shrimp was a bit overly garlic-y, but it was still good. If you're looking for a new Hawaiian spot, definitely check out TK Cafe. The proportions are huge and the taste is amazing. If I'm ever in Monrovia again, I'd definitely be stopping by!

Top Restaurant is…read moretucked into a small, rundown shopping center on Colorado Blvd in Pasadena and from the outside you'd never guess what's waiting inside. This is my third visit and every single time it delivers. This is an Indonesian/Hawaiian restaurant -- and a seriously impressive one. The menu spans both worlds, and no matter which direction you go, you're in for something special. Take out only, no tables, but trust me -- you won't care. The 4 Piece Indonesian Fried Chicken with rice is an absolute must. Some of the best fried chicken I have ever had. The crust is insanely crispy, the seasoning is perfect, and the Indonesian dipping sauce ties it all together in a way that's completely unique. This alone is worth the drive. The Hawaiian plates are equally impressive. The short ribs were fall-off-the-bone tender, the beef and chicken were perfectly marinated -- sweet, savory, and deeply flavorful. Everything comes with rice and a creamy mac salad, and the Hawaiian Sun drinks (Mango Orange and Strawberry Lilikoi) are the perfect companion to wash it all down. Plates run between $16-$20 but the portions are generous and the quality is exceptional -- you absolutely get your money's worth. The owner and cook are extraordinarily welcoming, and everything comes out hot and fresh every single time. Top Restaurant is a hidden gem of the highest order. If you're in Pasadena, make the trip.

Even after arriving, I almost changed my mind about ordering because the plaza itself looked very old and rough. I brought my girlfriend with me, and she was actually the one who said that since we were already there, we might as well try it. The restaurant is basically takeout only, and the inside is very simple and worn down. That said, the person taking our order was extremely friendly, which made the experience much better right away. After checking Yelp, I decided to order the Indonesian fried rice, BBQ chicken, and fried chicken. The fried rice was easily the highlight. I got it spicy, and it had a nice kick that made it feel more special. I'm not sure if this is part of the Indonesian style, but there were little bits of noodles mixed into the fried rice, which made it unique and really tasty. It also had a generous amount of meat inside, and the portion was huge. It was probably one of the best fried rice dishes I've had recently. The BBQ chicken was solid too. It had that tasty Hawaiian-style plate lunch feel, came with mac salad, and was seasoned well. The fried chicken was a little mixed for me. The crispy outside was good, but the chicken itself had a slight off taste, like it didn't feel as fresh as I hoped. Not terrible, but definitely not my favorite item. Overall, Top Restaurant surprised me in a good way. The place itself is very no-frills, but the fried rice alone makes it worth coming back. I'd definitely return for that.

Base comes in white sushi rice, organic brown rice, salad, or half & half. Got two large poke bowls with salmon and all the toppings. Avocados cost extra. Love the big chunks of fresh salmon! Scoops could be a tad larger. Please note extra toppings will cost extra money. Each bowl comes with a max of 3 sauces... got Dynamite, Spicy Garlic, and Sweet Unagi. Whether…read moreordering online or in person, the staff has always been very helpful and attentive, even during rushes. Their topping selection has a good variety, with all your standard poke toppings. I can't complain! The sauce selection is also pretty standard, my usuals being their house shoyu and sesame. A while ago, they had a citrus sauce, but sadly discontinued it. I'm hoping one day they bring it back because it was my favorite! Although the quality of their poke has been consistent through all the years, their prices have gone up significantly compared to other poke places in the area. A small bowl runs you about $18 - $20 now, depending on if you pay for the extra avocado. Their poke is still delicious, but Poki Bar has been out of the rotation for me due to the increase in price compared to the average poke shops nearby.

I was in the area and looking for a small bite to eat. I remembered this hawaiian bbq place that I…read morehaven't visit in almost 10 years. I am glad this small shop is still here and menu prices are still good in this economy. I ordered the katsu masubi and I liked the texture of the katsu, the meat was moist, and not greasy. Most importantly, the rice is just the right texture, which is not too firm, or too soggy soft. The sauce provided was ok The service was good, quick, and efficient. No ambiance here. It's grab and go and no seating that I noticed.

I ordered a 3-item combo (katsu, BBQ chicken, and beef) and paid about $20. No issue with the price if the food matches, but I ended up waiting around 25 minutes... and there was literally no one else there. When I finally went up to check, my plate was just sitting there getting cold. No one called it out or anything. That already threw me off. Then I get to my car, open the plate, and there's barely any beef--like 2 pieces. For a "3-item combo," that's kind of crazy. I went back and let them know, and instead of just fixing it smoothly, the guy tried to say I had already eaten it even though I just picked up the food which was honestly wild. Eventually he gave me more beef after saying I'll just take a refund and he can have the food back. Food itself wasn't terrible, but between the long wait, cold plate, and weird customer service, it just didn't live up to the hype.

Quite a big menu to choose from. Ended up going for the combination of the meats. (Hawaiian…read moreBarbecue Mixed) Food is pretty good. The price of the food looks pretty friendly. The portion size of it matches the price well to me. Well, it's a "fast food" spot, can't expect too much from the looks of the place. I called to place a pickup order which I have done many times in the past with a sweet toned girl, but this time I was met with extremely rude customer service from the man who answered the phone. When I tried to order what I knew as their special combo, I apparently didn't use the exact wording he expected. Instead of politely clarifying, he immediately became frustrated, raised his voice, and asked in an agitated tone what I wanted. I explained that I wanted the combo with BBQ chicken and sushi, but he continued speaking over me. I finally asked, "Do you not have a combo with BBQ chicken and sushi? Am I calling the Baldwin Park Aloha Hawaiian?" He confirmed that I was and then angrily corrected me, saying it was called a "special combo," not a "special combination." At that point, I was shocked by how rude and unprofessional the interaction had become. That I decided not to place my order. Before I could even finish cancelling, he hung up on me. This used to be my go-to spot for Hawaiian food and sushi, but after this experience, I won't be returning. Customer service matters, and there is no reason for a customer to be treated this way over a simple misunderstanding about wording of a menu item. If this is how customers are treated over the phone, I can only imagine how others may be treated, especially those for whom English is not their first language. Extremely disappointed.
