Free chocolate at the end of the meal!!

This location is located on the 2nd floor of the Nordstrom in the Santa Anita Mall. For a mall with such a huge food court and so many options, Nordstrom's Marketplace Cafe definitely felt like a breath of fresh air and a relief, in comparison to some of the other spots in this mall. No frills, solid food here at the cafe with solid service. It's tucked away on the 2nd floor of the Nordstrom and a bit hard to find. It's in the corner and is also not advertised anywhere, kind of like a secret cafe haha. It almost feels luxurious eating here LOL This was my first time eating at a Nordstrom Cafe and I was so impressed! I heard that other Nordstrom Cafes have a pizza oven and a lot of pizza, but unfortunately this cafe does not have the pizza oven built in. I ordered the special birria short rib grilled cheese ($20.00) off their special menu. The sandwich is made on sourdough bread with somewhat of a toasted parmesean crust on the bread. I loved the taste of the bread and how crunchy it was because of this parmesean crust. The meat was so juicy, especially because the birria is dipped in consome, just overall adding to the flavor profile of the dish. It comes with chips or salad, and I opted for a side of Caesar salad. We also ordered a kid's meal, which was honestly a really good deal. For $13, it comes with a grilled cheese sandwich (same size as my grilled cheese), tomato soup for dipping, fruit, and a full-sized drink. Lastly, we also ordered the bolognese pasta with meatballs. Solid dish with delicious flavors! You know, for a Nordstrom Cafe, you wouldn't expect service but I was pleasantly surprised that this was sort of like a dine-in experience! After ordering at the front, you sit anywhere you like and a server takes your receipt with your order and immediately brings you free bread + butter and your drinks. I was so impressed!

I can't believe I've gone to this mall for the past 30+ years and didn't know this existed. I couldn't even find it without having to ask the ebar downstairs. I've had it 3 times this week! I got obsessed with the grilled cheese and tomato basil soup and the crazy part is I don't even like tomato or basil in anything. Service is easy, I made a phone call and got connected right away. I also have ordered in person and I love this location because the meal comes with fruit and a drink (the Glendale location did not). And if you order on DoorDash it won't come with the fruit and drink either. So make sure you order on the phone or in person! The snickerdoodle cookie is unmatched, they don't look soft but they absolutely are. So heavenly and delicious. Ambience is really chill, I just wish parking was better.

This is a hit-and-miss spot. Most of the time it's on, but sometimes it just isn't. In all honesty, it is a bit pricey for what you get. With all that said, when it is on, it's worth it. The Food quality is generally good. The service is a bit inconsistent. It's a hybrid dining experience, where you order before you sit, and people bring your food and drinks. The Vibe is an upscale cafe. Overall, it is a great stop if you're looking for a quality lunch break.

First time visiting this Nordstrom Cafe at the Santa Anita Mall. They had delicious food with lots of options (soup, salad, sandwiches, entree, pasta) including several gluten-free dishes. They had friendly attentive service, they constantly came by to check on us & refill our drinks. It was clean & spacious with plenty of indoor & outdoor seating. We came for lunch on a Sunday & there were plenty of seats. They had complementary soft, freshly baked, hot bread & butter. I enjoyed the Chef's Skirt Steak Entree, medium rare, it was cooked perfectly & very flavorful. It came with asparagus & roasted potatoes. My daughter enjoyed her kids meal Penne Alfredo with chicken, which came with a drink & fruit. Their homemade lemonade was good too with free refills! We will definitely return to try more items on the menu.

Cilantro Lime Salad with grilled corn on the side

This was my first time visiting Nordstrom marketplace cafe. I didn't even know they had a cafe. I ordered the Santa Fe Chicken Sandwich with Simple salad and Cilantro Lime Salad with grilled chicken. Everything was delicious. The sandwich had grilled red peppers and onions inside which I liked. As for the Cilantro Lime salad, the grilled chicken was added for $4. The grilled chicken was surprisingly good. Even though the salad had cilantro in it, I hardly tasted or noticed it. I didn't taste any lime flavor either. Maybe it's in the sauce. Either way, the salad was still delicious. I asked for grilled corn to be on the side because I don't like when corn is burnt and has black spots on them. I just prefer to good normal corn but a lot of places make grilled corn black.

    Santa Fe Chicken Panini

The service was amazing. I ordered the Santa Fe Chicken Panini and it was honestly the best sandwich I've ever tasted. The ambiance was chill and relaxing, perfect for doing some work on my laptop.

Good food even greater service. Waitstaff very attentive and since the remodel the atmosphere is very bright. Food is underrated and priced right. You should try it

A nice little cafe offering soups, salads, sandwiches, and entrees. It is a great spot to grab a bite to eat after shopping around Nordstrom. Their menu is short and sweet, and the interior is very clean and cozy. Staff are very friendly and bring you the food after you order at the counter. The salads are a bit overpriced but the burger was delicious.

Eateries within a department store is an experience from a different time. A time when people might pop in for a sandwich and a coffee and maybe a cigarette and read the newspaper. A simpler time some might say. These days with so many restaurants and a food court, a department store cafe may not be one's first choice. However, if you want a unique experience with a pleasant staff, good food and drink and a glimpse of history, try the Marketplace Cafe in Nordstrom. The cafe is beautifully decorated with abstract art and a slight throwback 80's vibe without looking dated. We had delicious cups of soup: Roma Tomato and Clam chowder. Both hit the spot with a crunchy toast. A delicious cookie and we were off. If I'm in the mall and needing a quick nosh with great service, I am coming to Marketplace Cafe

    Niciose Salad with Salmon

Remodel nice, service always good but food was disappointing. So disappointing in fact i doubt I'll come back. It was the busy lunch hour, wait staff unavailable for me to share my concerns. Nordstrom, bad cherry tomatoes, wilted salad greens way past their prime, sad.

Shrimp & Grilled Shrimp and Arugula Salad with Sweet Corn

This salad was delicious. But the room itself is very loud. I believe it was recently renovated because the furnishings look new. The space reflects the sounds of other people and children, so please note that your conversations may need to be projected in order to be heard. This is not an abnormal phenomenon for contemporary restaurants. Service was much better than one would expect for a mall eatery tucked in the corner of a shop. The salmon niçoise salad, the shrimp & arugula salads are recommended.

Wow! I was so surprised by the quality of the food, which was top tier. We ordered the mushroom raviolis and Santa Fe Chicken Panini, followed by Boston Cream Pie. Talk about a flavor explosion! The raviolis stole the show with a creamy sauce topped with sun dried tomatoes and basil though. The panini was sit on too! The staff were over the top helpful and brought out the pie thinking we had waited too long, which we hadn't - but who are to turn down pie?! Adam, you're a rockstar! It was rich, moist and sweet - I will order the exact same items when I return. JUST YUMMMM!!!

Spicy Wild Shrimp Pomodoro - delicious!
    Josie C.

Pleasantly surprised! Wasn't expecting the cafe to serve restaurant quality food. The French dip was served on a soft bun and was extremely tender and juicy, perfectly cooked. I'd dare say it gives Tam's a run for their money for what it is. The shrimp pasta blew me away. I had such low expectations only to be wow'ed. Quality wild shrimp, not frozen. I asked for my pasta to be mild, and it was just as amazing. The tomato soup was absolutely delicious as well. I've come back many times since. Nice gem of a spot for a quiet lunch minus the hustle and bustle of the mall.

Beautiful inside with two separate downstairs areas and one upstairs. Don't approve of the large TVs in the bar area but the sound was off at least. Once we were seated (and by the way, the hostesses were super friendly and hospitable), Joe was our helpful server. We ordered a Last Word and a Negroni with brussel sprouts to start with. The drinks were ok, the brussel sprouts were super tasty and well charred. Next we ordered the pork chop and chicken skillet. I wanted to order the peri peri chicken but they were out of it. We also ordered a boulevardier and espresso martini. The pork and chicken were so tender and flavorful! My espresso martini tasted like a smooth liquid dessert . Very loud inside. My husband could barely hear me. Curious about the rooftop seating so maybe a reservation for up there next time, maybe I'll get to try the peri peri chicken. Highly recommend!

Had my first lilikoi foam in Maui and I love that I'm starting to see it around Los Angeles now. Adds such a punch of flavor to an after we balanced drink. For food, we started with the bacon deviled eggs and shrimp taquitos. Those deviled eggs were lightly fried, which was different, then had apple wood smoked bacon on top, just a really tasty bite. The shrimp taquitos were also not what you would expect, nice and light but still very good. Entrees we went with the center cut fillet and the prime rib dip with swiss cheese on a brioche bun. That sandwich just melts if your mouth after dipping it in the jous, and the cheese was the perfect accompiament. The fillet was cooked perfect as well, coming out medium rare. We let them know that they were undercooked. The chokes were gone for a while and when they came back they were slightly better so we just made due and realized that they just weren't very good artichokes. Also, though the heart was good, the flavor of the leaves was not great and the dipping sauce was nothing special. They were covered with diced onions for some reason. The spaghetti portion is smaller than at most other HK cafes and isn't as good though. - Baked sole filet with rice and white sauce (3/5): Had high expectations for this dish but it didn't quite meet them. The rice used was plain white rice which isn't what I'm used to at other HK cafes and it left me a bit disappointed since it meant the dish was much more monotone in flavor and there were bites that were unflavorful. The fish itself was generously portioned and easy to eat with the warming cheese and white sauce combo. Wouldn't get again only because I know other spots that do it much better but decent overall. - Beef stew with noodle (3/5): Had expected this to be dry style with the beef stew over softened egg noodles but it came out as a soup. Beef pieces were tender and generous. Egg noodles were a bit overcooked. - Sticky Rice Dim Sum: They were massive and decent in flavor. They were a little mushy I think because it had been steaming a while (which was probably why they were quick to be served) but we didn't mind - Siumai: Generous amount of fish egg on top and was pleasantly meaty. We found parking in the front but also know there's a lot in the back. The restaurant itself is big and pretty empty and quiet. We were glad that service was friendly and quick this visit since the first time we were there one of the servers gave us attitude.
