I don't usually give reviews but I think everyone needs to know this about the Denny's in Barstow CA. Their business practices are truly deceptive, I will even go so far as to say they are cheating their customers. If I could give the review 0 stars I would. My mom and I went this morning for breakfast. I was looking over the menu and was telling her what the prices were for the breakfast slams (the least expensive was 15+ dollars). My mom tells me Denny's is having a special. $6.00-$10.00 for their breakfast slams, she saw the commercial this morning . I look all through the menu and there is nothing about the special. They have an insert promoting specialty slams ranging from 15.00- 20.00 but nothing about the other special. I ask my server about it, he goes and gets an additional menu and gives it to us. I ask why we were not given it along with the regular menu. Our server tells us, " we don't give them out unless the customer asks for it". So what this means...if my mon had not seen the commercial, if I had not asked about it, our total would have been an extra $20.00. I don't know about you, but to me this is deceptive, and every person who comes in to eat at this Denny's is being cheated. Cheated because they don't have the opportunity to look over the, (lets call it) the sales menu to decide if they want to order from it, and cheated if they order a meal off the regular menu that is on sale and wind up paying full price. I'd really like to know who the person is who decided not to give this menu out to everyone who comes in unless they ask. The why is obviously greed. As for the ambiance, the music was so loud, my mom and I couldn't carry on any kind of conversation. The noise from the kitchen, the other patrons, and the loud music proved to be to much. I go to a restaurant with family and friends to spend time in conversation with them, getting caught up on what is going on in each others lives. I asked my server if there was another section we could sit in where the music was not so loud. He said no. I asked if they could turn the music down, again I was told no, so my mom and I sat in silence, because we got tired of leaning up over the table toward each other to talk. All in all, this was the worst dinning experience I have ever had, and that is saying something. read more

They don't check on, and they also make you wait over an hour to get your food as they take online orders before people actually dining in. They were fast at taking our order, but not getting it, so unless you want over an hour to get your food don't go. Or go when you're not hungry. Yes while it was a holiday, they should have had more cooks, or work out a system for online orders and dining in orders. This wasn't the first time this has happened to us. read more

Me and the family stopped here on the way to vegas comming from the Anyelope Valley. Server was decent at the start but brought us cold coffee, and when asked for another cup just refilled it instead of bringing us a new fresh cup. He then tried to hand us semi hot plates instead of placing them in front of us. My grand slammwich was missing bacon and sausage and the maple spread and was on sour dough bread. My sister in laws salmon was partially raw. If I could I'd give them 0 stars but it doesnt let me. Needless to say I left no tip. read more

Burger was very salty and the fries. Also the waiter took way too long to get the food also they did not want to give me atleast a refund on the burger. I offered to pay for everything except the burger but they didn't let me so that was very annoying. I won't be coming here again that's just a waste of money for me. read more

The server Soledad was great . She was a little slow but she is older and they seemed short staffed . Food wasn't great I ordered a Cali club and the bread was stale (didn't complain) . Then my son found a tag in his Mac n cheese . Let the server know and the manager came over like she didn't know how to handle the situation. I just said take it off the check . I went to Denny's earlier today. Me and my four year old son had a nice time. First things first Michelle the waitress is beyond amazing. She is friendly, attentive and professional. Every time me and my family come in to dine she is here to greet me and my family with a smile. Today was mommy and me day for me and my son and he loves to come here so that's what we did. Michelle never disappoints. Thank you so much for always going the extra mile Michelle. God bless you and your family. Now second thing is the food is always good. I always get the wild Alaska Salmon meal and it is yummy. The flavor is so good. Here's a tip: Ask them for the garlic butter on top of your salmon or on the side. They are suppose to put that on the salmon but not every cook does. I am pescatarian so the food options are very limited for me here but my children love coming here and it's a great place to take your children especially when you do not feel like cooking some days. I highly recommend this location. The manager Paula is also great and professional. She always wears a smile. The waitresses Adriana and Sandra have helped me once before and they are also friendly and helpful too. God bless them all and their families. I'll be back Michelle.
