(4.25 STARS)…read more Memorial Day road trips always seem to create the best random discoveries, and Pit Stop Bar & Grill absolutely delivered. Tucked away off Victor Street in Barstow, this was a fun find while driving back to Los Angeles from Vegas over Memorial Day weekend. Big props to Haley M., who was basically running a one-woman show and somehow kept the entire place moving with a great attitude and solid service. That alone made the stop memorable. The location has a cool, laid-back vibe with plenty to keep people entertained while grabbing food and drinks. They've got two billiards tables, a dart board, and all kinds of classic bar games, board games, and card games, including UNO, which is a family favorite. They also have several televisions. The food was all good too. I really enjoyed the Green Chili Burger, and everyone else in my party seemed genuinely happy with their meals as well. I felt they were trying to nickel and dime when I got the bill, i was charged for a side of ranch, a side of BBQ, and had no idea I was being up charged for the onion rings. I didn't say a word, but it hit wrong with me. .75 points deducted. What especially stood out to me, though, was the Memorial Day place setting displayed near the front entrance honoring our veterans and fallen heroes. It was simple, respectful, and genuinely touching. See my picture. That detail said a lot about the heart behind this place. If you're making the Vegas-to-LA drive and want something more memorable than the usual freeway fast-food stop, this place is definitely worth checking out. Great atmosphere, friendly energy, and one of those spots you end up talking about later.

If you're tired of the tourist crowds and lines at EddieWorld, I recommend this place for the convenience. I ordered the pastrami sandwich with fries based on the friendly guy's recommendation inside the order window. The $14.00 price was reasonable. Service was slow, though. I guess it's because he's the only guy there taking orders and making the food. By the time I took a bite of the pastrami sandwich, the wait was worth it. The taste is what you'd expect from a "typical" pastrami sandwich made fresh. I've had some phenomenal pastramis in my lifetime, and when I say "typical", it's a complement.

Great small family ran business. If you are in or passing through Yermo and don't mind eating outside with a chill vibe, (we prefer outside) this place will not disappoint. We ordered chili cheese burger's with grilled onions and jalapeños and chili cheese fries with grilled onions and jalapeños as well and washed it all down with Mr. Pibb. Yes they have Mr. Pibb! The best soda EVER and hard to find. Our delicious burgers were flavorful and juicy and NOT thin cardboard. Chili cheese fries were amazing too. Great people, great food!!! We will be making this little hidden gem a must stop, when passing through Yermo. Thank you Richard and Mary. God bless you both, your mom and this special place too! Also, thanks Richard for recommending Mules Canyon Rd for trail for off roading. We went off of your recommendation and had a blast! Thanks again!!! See ya soon!

The apple cranberry salad was excellent and tasted very fresh. The steak was very tender, and the herb crusted salmon with pilau rice was solid as well. The ambience was lively without being overwhelming, and the beautiful elaborate glass dome really makes the space feel special. Service was great throughout the evening. Attentive, warm, and present without being pushy or constantly interrupting the meal. Overall, a very good dinner and a spot I'd happily come back to when in Big Bear Lake.

This restaurant is inside Chateau Big Bear and features a 57-foot ornate Tiffany dome. On this evening, my family and I got to see pianist Mike Cross perform blues music along with a drummer and bassist. Mike was very friendly, and we got to exchange greetings after the show. We got the chicken marsala, spaghetti bolognese, and Caesar salad with chicken. The chicken marsala came as a big portion with a lot of mashed potatoes along with steamed carrots and charred broccoli. It was delicious with the rich and savory marsala wine sauce. Also, I never realized that charred broccoli can be so tasty. Service was a little spotty as it took long to flag a server for drink refills. Otherwise, this was overall an enjoyably memorable dining experience with my family.

It's easy to find since it sits near the freeway exit and many billboards along the way as road signs. Its gravel paved parking lot is huge. All those cars there were somewhat reassuring. I took the first counter seat I saw while being surprised how small this place is. Only later I found it has 2 large dining areas and a pizza parlor further in. The waitress wore a pink outfit likes those I saw in movies. Some of them seem to have been there for years. Courtney is probably the youngest among them and very friendly. She took my order and gave a glass of water without ice as I requested. Most dishes is named after celebrities of old. My neighbor ordered an omelette which is huge, enough for 2 yet reasonably priced. Peggy Sue also has a dinosaur yard outdoors. Water in the pond and waterfall is green, not sure if it's algae or coloring. Either way, I have no intention get near them. I don't think I'd bring my family here but I might stop in next time on my solo trip to Vegas to try its omelette.

The woman at the front desk was extremely unfriendly with a terrible attitude. We were quoted about a 45 min wait but didn't end up waiting that long, we figured a lot of people didn't want to wait lol. There's a pretty large gift shop inside FILLED with different knick knacks, candies, & ice cream. The staff in the gift shop were a little more friendly than the older woman in the front. In the back, they have a small "diner-saur park" but we didn't go check due to how hot it was outside. Once our buzzer went off finally, the woman at the front began to give my grandma attitude because she thought my grandma said party of 9 when we all clearly heard party of 5. The woman at the front let out a loud audible sigh & told us to wait there while they "checked" if there was a table open for 5. If you had a table for 9 by YOUR OWN mistake, why would you not have it for 5?... We were then taken to our table by an extremely rude man who not only tried to rush our party, but was mad when we w couldn't keep up with his pace. We had our grandparents with us who aren't able to run around a restaurant like he was. We got sat at a table in the back, mind you there was SO MANY empty tables inside, but maybe they didn't have the correct amount of staff present. AC barely worked in the back. Extremely hot and stuffy. It's a little confusing that different people take your drink order and different people take your food order. So you can't ask the food order person where your drinks are cus she didn't take the order... it's confusing. Our server was rude, not surprised. The entire staff besides the drink order girls were rude. Food came out finally, nothing to brag about. Lacked flavor, under cooked fried pickles & undercooked onion rings. We ordered some pies to go which were okay. Overall, our experience here was not the best. The staff really needs a refresher on how to be polite to their guests.
