Came here about 10:15am 1st sign of problems: doesn't even deserve a 1 star: 1. I was waiting to be seated and the hostess seated the just arrived and I told her I was here first. 2. I noticed they took care of the other families first from getting the drinks, ordering even though in the beginning I told them I was their first. 3. Took the waitress a really long time before coming to get us our drink and food order. 4. After ordering our food I told the waitress what we needed which is steak sauce, Tabasco, extra napkins, extra butter and she said as soon as our order comes out. 5. Our order came out and even asked for orange juice for my daughter took another 15mins for steak sauce, Tabasco and butter to come out. Almost at the end of our meal still no kid orange juice we asked again. She came back and said this on the house. 6. We were done we asked for 2 boxes, we already paid and everything still no to go boxes waited for 15 mins just to get it. Please have management read the reviews to do some changes. Asked for Superbird with avocado and fruit, paid $13.50 and got the order wrong after waiting for 25 minutes. Bread was burned, no avocado which I was charged extra for and burned fries that were not ordered. Bar far the best service I've ever gotten at a dennys. My family and I cane for lunch and had marisol as out waitress and she was so friendly and made sure we had everything we needed and I can't forget to mention we're those kind of people that are picky and like our food a certain way. I ordered mozzarella sticks which were nice and hot and yummy . Next I ordered a buffalo chicken sandwich which is not on the menu anymore but i substitute it with chicken tenders and it was still yummy. The restaurant was clean and service was fast . In first doing a review, Denny's is a diner type of atmosphere so the workers are over worked and underpaid. I have been in this location now twice, 2nd better than first. My first visit I went in on a Sunday around 10:30am, we went in and luckily did not have to wait long to be seated. We were sat, for menus and told our server would be with us. It took about 20 or so minutes for someone to notice and come. The serve we had ended up great but they were busy and knew folks were training. There new staff just followed each other like lost dogs, but overall after ordering food came in quick and we got refills along with being checked on. My second review was a Saturday night around 6pm. Not very crowded and we got sat right away. Our waitress was nice and did a good job at recommendations. Although she did not come back to check on us, so that was sad. I got the pancakes with cinnamon on top with white glaze. They were delicious! read more

Came here for a free breakfast for my daughter's birthday. They didn't honor it & said that we can come back the next day & get a free breakfast instead. I don't understand the difference between the day we went to coming back the next day to get a free breakfast. . . So I payed for her birthday meal, which is fine but I thought all Denny's honored their birthday reward, I even called ahead of time & asked to verify. We also waited awhile to be seated, the manager walked past us & didn't greet us. Did I just give a Denny's 5 stars? I don't give anyone five stars? Looks like I did! Huh? Why would I do that? Strange... Not really that strange when the manager Sergio greeted me at the door with a huge amount of enthusiasm. Quickly got me to my seat in a place that was good for me, filled my drink order and got a server to me a lightning speed. The entire time, he did not stop smiling. The first server took my order with... my goodness... THE SAME ENERGY! The second server continued to check on me and even laughed at my dumb jokes. Oh... and they are DUMB! I asked Sergio to join me at my table for a moment. He did. Turns out that he has around a quarter century of experience in this company. He takes great pride and OWNERSHIP of his personal performance and that of the team he leads. He loves his customers. He has been a guest at restaurants like us (did you all know that they are people too??? JK)? He never liked when people treated him wrong, so he wants to be sure that it does not happen to his guests. Now... I think it is fairly easy to have a manager with good customer service, but it does not mean a thing unless that translates to the team that manager leads. So my CSUF friend is very American. She eats American food all the time and doesn't usually like to try new things. She also loves breakfast food (i.e. Ihop and Denny's). With that being noted, on certain sad, sad days, I would have to come here for lunch with my friend, Anna Q. Being that I usually pick the lunch spot, I owe her that much. Some parking spaces, this Denny's is next to the 57 freeway. It's a restaurant but it's always, and I do mean always, dead and slow. The food is mediocre, you know the sausage links, scrambled eggs, pancakes, etc. The service is so slow. They usually only have 1-2 servers run the whole place, which isn't under-staffing because there's not much people, but it does take a while for the server to come back to your side of the booth. When you're done, you take it up to the manager who cashiers you. Often time, this is when you'll wait a good 15 minute because the manager is either not found or very slow in cashiering. I do give them the star for being open late, like all Denny's. Great pick for meeting up with your group for group projects the night before your presentations and term projects are due. read more

After several visits, we have finally given up on this location. The first visit no one acknowledged us or seated us for several minutes, and the food took too long to come out when all we ordered were small plates off the $2/4/6/8 menu. Second visit, waiter NEVER refilled either my bf's coffee or my lemonade. I asked for a refill towards the end of the visit, he never came back. Had to ask some other waiter for the check. Asked him for water, never brought it. Fourth and final visit recently, manager at the front told us to just pick any open seats. No one ever came to hand us menus. We sat for 14 minutes and watched them seat another couple that came in after us and gave them menus/took their drink orders. They didn't even come to clean off the food that was still on our table from the last guests. After about 15 min of no one ever coming to give us menus or take our orders, we got up and walked out. Manager just grinned at us on the way out, as if she would care, they have enough partied out college kids to give them business in that area. This place also constantly smells like a dirty mop, sticky residue everywhere, unclean. My girl Danielle B. and I are like two old ladies. We like to go to Denny's and get breakfast for dinner. This is our favorite location out her way. I've been here three times and the service is always quite good, food is fine, etc etc etc. So it gets 5 stars for a Denny's. People talk smack on Denny's all the time, but really, what are your options after 10pm out in this area besides like Del Taco or some random greasy burger/Mexican food joint? This is probably the 2nd best denny's simply because it's conveniently close to where I live. - They have outlets a few outlets. Some are on the ceiling and there is one on the wall, but usually someone has that spot. - I prefer the table with the outlet next to the bathroom. It's quieter and closer to the waiters so service is expedient. - I dislike that they do not have wi-fi. - Don't come here thurs-sat nights if you plan to study. Gets hectic as you can imagine since it's close to CSUF. - The waiter gets mad if you order one hot chocolate and share with someone. lol - Cooks have a difficult time making an over-medium egg! haha - Sausages are sometimes undercook for my liking. Let's be honest: Nobody goes to Denny's for the food. Denny's is the midnight weigh station for drunken college kids with the munchies, hungry clubbers after last call, and truckers during a stop on a cross-country haul. So I'm not even going to review the food as you know you're going to get what you expect: greasy, unhealthy American food that tastes OK to sober people and delicious to the non-sober folks. But I had to review this Denny's in particular because the service has been bad on virtually every occasion I've been there. That's not to say the employees weren't pleasant, but they are incompetent. Customer service needs some serious improving at this particular location. The last time I was there, the hostess told us to sit where we pleased, so we did...and nobody came to take our order after we waited for almost 10 minutes! Every time we tried to get a server's attention, they either looked right passed us or were too busy chatting in the kitchen. We ended up just walking out...and nobody noticed. During other visits, it took them either forever to take our order, they would forget something we asked, or we would have to wait extraordinarily long before we'd get our food. Have not returned in a year and will not return ever again. By the way, there's a Denny's up the freeway, at Imperial Highway and the 57, that has superior service three fold. read more

I don't know if these places are independently owned, since it is a franchise, but my latest visit was not good. I noticed a different man who seemed to be in charge, and he was annoying. Fist off, we were told that they were setting up a table for our party of 5 by one of the servers. There were people who were sitting in the little waiting area when we arrived, so you figured that they had been helped already, but these people hadn't. They just sat there until someone approached them. The man who seemed in charge finally approached these other people and came to us say that they needed to be helped first. I said that was fine, and that I was told that they were also getting a table ready for us, but he couldn't understand this at all. He had to tell me three times that they had to be helped first even though these other people were heading toward a booth while they were getting a table for us. Later when I found a big hair in my french toast, I called over for help, and this same gentleman came over. I show him the hair, and he said, "Should I get you another one?" Really? That's so annoying that it had to be said. The speed of service was very slow. But when he took the french toast, he came back with it pretty quickly. Unfortunately, my french toast wasn't fully cooked. There are two more Denny's about a mile away. I'll probably visit the other ones next time. read more

Ordered something to go last night as I was staying at the hotel next door. Not only did it take them 45 minutes to make two items, they forgot to put cheese on the eggs and didn't give me my milkshake! I called them and asked if I could get a refund this morning, they said sure no problem I'll make sure the opening manager knows. Also they did not have Cherry Coke or any kind of mix of sodas like the Santa Ana location off the 55 Freeway. Finally the waiter was awful and had no personality. It's Denny's, the last resort for food after a late night out of drunken debauchery. You'll be hard pressed to find anything on the menu that isn't grease soaked, but in your drunken state, the healthy food choice isn't your priority. I would pass on the sizzling skillets, which are way small and, well, greasy as hell. I'd just go with the Steak & Eggs, because even if it's crappy, it's still the best thing on he menu. I've eaten here for years. We rarely have had to wait for a table. Food and service is consistent and good. We've ordered take out food twice over the phone as we were paying cash. 1st time no problems. 2nd time, today, a couple of minor things. I asked for extra butter and syrup and we did not get it. I got the Supreme Skillet which was awesome. As I approached the bottom of the big bowl full of red tomatoes, spinach, mushrooms, and red potatoes (all with cheese and 2 eggs on top) I realized I had yet to encounter any sausage! At the bottom I found half a sausage and 5 pieces of sausage. One single link of sausage. One. Lone. Sausage. Really??? I have been trying to get family to go to Denny's with me for a while. Finally I had some family go with me last Sunday. I explained that it seems to have gotten better since we were last disappointed with the food and service. I ordered the Eggs Benny and so did my family member. I guess the cook is not aware of how to make eggs Benedict as the eggs were fried hard instead of poached and the English muffins were burnt and difficult to even cut through with our knives.
