Saw people posting on social about the endless shrimp deal being back for a limited time. I thought that was the reason why Red Lobster filed for bankruptcy. Anyhow, never tried this and had to. So after a long hike, the hubby and I thought we would try it on a Saturday at 3 pm. We are old people who like to have early dinner and it always works out because it's never crowded at this time. Host was nice and got us seated within 5 mins at a booth. Place was clean. We lucked out with server Marvin. The best server ever!! Very friendly, attentive, great personally and never rushed us through anything! He explained the endless shrimp deal to us when I asked if it was available. It was a $30 deal where you can pick 3 different shrimps and a side. Afterwards, you can pick 2 shrimps at a time as the refill. Not bad. When the food came out, dang!! I was shocked how lovely everything was plated. I kept reading bad reviews so I was a bit nervous but food was not over salted and everything was hot and fresh. My favorites were the alfredo and coconut shrimp. The sauce that came with the coconut shrimps was delicious. Baked potato was on point. We just finished our shrimps when Marvin came back just in time to get our second order. Like I said, so attentive. People nowadays don't have the same customer service as they did back in the day. But Marvin...he provided amazing customer service. By the end, I was so full. I had a total of 30 shrimps. Husband ate 3 cheddar bay biscuits. I hadn't been to Red Lobster in over 15 years and my son wanted to eat there for lunch. Brandon was our server and he did a good job despite him taking care of several tables of diners. There were lunch specials offered, but only my daughter chose to order an entree from there. My son and I both ordered Shrimp Your Way with two choices. He got the coconut and popcorn shrimp and I doubled up on grilled shrimp. We did start with a bowl of clam chowder which we enjoyed. The Cheddar Bay Biscuits were freshly made. My daughter thought the Grilled Chicken Cesar Bowl was ok. I don't think she liked the hot chicken and orzo rice with the cold Cesar Salad. Plus the orzo rice was a bit dense and too chewy. My son liked the coconut and popcorn shrimp. The grilled shrimp, which had six shrimp on each skewer, was a bit over cooked and chewy. The same was true for the orzo rice. Basic sides are included, but premium sides are ah additional charge. Overall, I don't feel Red Lobster was a great dining option for lunch. For the three of us, the bill was almost $77 without tip and we didn't order any drinks. For me, this isn't a great place for seafood for the prices we paid. read more

Came into the Brea Red Lobster with my family for the first time in a long time. We heard they had brought back endless shrimp and wanted to give it a chance. It turned out that the promotion was temporary, and had actually ended the week before, but were informed over the phone that it is available as a weekly special on Monday's, which that day happened to be. Upon arriving, we were quickly sat and introduced to our waiter Wes who was very attentive and friendly. We found that the endless shrimp on Monday's is actually $5 more than the promotion they had been running, but two of the three of us ordered it anyways. My sister ordered fish and chips. The service was great. Wes was quick to get us refills and was very helpful with navigating the endless shrimp. We were also interested in trying the new "Marry Me" variation of shrimp, which although it wasn't printed anywhere in their menu he informed us they still have. We covered pretty much every variety of shrimp they offer between the two of us, along with cole slaw and rice pilaf. As far as the shrimp goes, the quality feels worse than I remember. The breading on our Walt's favorite was soggy and falling apart even when fresh and hot. The rice pilaf was borderline inedible. It tasted old but there were also a ton of pieces of rice, pilaf, or something else that were incredibly firm to the point where you couldn't really chew it. The alfredo and scampi were the most enjoyable. The marry me shrimp was borderline inedible. The sauce, rather than what is typical of the trending recipe, tastes almost exactly like marinara sauce mixed with alfredo sauce. That wouldn't have been too much of a problem had it been executed well. The sauce had some sort of film over the top, even though there was no cheese. It was just a dry layer of skin over the sauce. The milk solids within the sauce also seemed to have separated, leaving the shrimp in a pool of what appeared to be some sort of milk curds, water, and oil. The issue is that we had to be finished with almost all of our plate to get another and try what we hadn't yet. I ended up not being able to put a dent in that second plate as the food was so heavy I wasn't feeling good. From what I heard, the fish and chips were decent, though the fries were disappointing. I think you would be better off ordering a shrimp dish a la carte from the normal menu, where the preparation is probably a little more dedicated. Don't recommend. read more

Red Lobster was okay overall, but I wouldn't say it was a place I'd be excited to visit again. We came here because we had a gift certificate, so we decided to give it a try. The food was decent, served hot, and the portions were good, but nothing really stood out or impressed us. The main downside was the service. Everything started fine, but after the food was served, it felt like our server was not checking on us as much as expected. We had to wait longer than we wanted for assistance, especially when we were ready for the check and needed a to-go box. Overall, it wasn't a bad experience, but it was pretty average. Came in to red lobster with my girlfriend for dinner on a Saturday night. Location is on the perimeter road for the brea mall. Easy access and a fairly large parking lot with potential overflow parking in the mall lot across the perimeter road. Parking lot was fairly full for almost 8PM on a Saturday night. The restaurant was over half empty. We were seated immediately after walking in. Ambiance is a nautical theme common to red lobster and many seafood restaurants. Dark stained wood paneling, pictures of seafood, fishing, and harbor scenes, and other motif items like ship steering wheels, fishing nets, shellfish traps and the like on the walls and hung from the ceiling around the restaurant. Our server was Zach, and came up quickly with biscuits took our drink orders, and promised to return soon to take our order. He returned with our drinks several minutes later and took our orders. Checked in about 10 minutes later, offered to refill the biscuits and my soda and told us that our food would be out soon. Zach returned with the biscuits and again let us know that our food is coming right up, he again said he will refill my soda. Our food came out about 5 minutes later my soda a minute or 2 earlier. Food temperature was nice and hot. The plates looked great and we dug in to our meals. The dinners tasted good and the portions were generous. I have a strange relationship with snow crab , while it's my favorite crab taste wise, the small legs and therefore amount of work to get my fill is time consuming. My girlfriend enjoyed her lobster tail and salmon. She ate about half of the grilled shrimp and brought the rest along with her shrimp fettuccine to go. Unfortunately Zach was sort of missing in action after the food was served. We were ready for the check and wanted a to go container for my girlfriend's leftovers but waited quite a while for him to return and check in on us. Overall the food and initial wait time to be seated were both good. The wait for our meals and for the waiter after the meals arrived were quite a bit longer than expected, especially considering that the restaurant was not even half full. Came here for lunch, and you honestly can never go wrong with Red Lobster. I absolutely love coming here -- the food is always so good and consistent. I usually order the Choose Two Shrimp meal, and it never disappoints. Everything comes out fresh, hot, and full of flavor. For drinks, I ordered a piña colada with a strawberry mix (can't remember the exact name), and it was so refreshing and delicious -- definitely a perfect pairing with the meal. Had another great visit at Brea Red Lobster! My daughter, her friend and I all enjoyed the calamari appetizer, and our entrees. He said the chicken breast entree was delicious and it looked breaded and fried to perfection. Decent portion for a big eater also. My daughter enjoyed her steak and lobster entree and the biscuits. I've been to this red lobster on countless occasions throughout the year and have experienced the small changes they've been doing. It had been a while since we had been here and I got the meal for the bday dessert. My bf and I decided to visit and bring our own wine. One of the best things from them was the no corkage fee since they don't really have a wine selection. This is family friendly casual restaurant with a wide variety of seafood dishes. They were pretty empty with only about 3-4 tables total. We decided to order the Brussels sprouts as a starter and one of their seafood combos to share since I wasn't too hungry. My bf also added the loaded baked potato. We waited 30 mins after ordering and NOTHING. Eventually they told us that they no longer accept wine from outside, not even for a fee because they no longer pay for that type of licence. This was disappointing since the tried telling us that the had never accepted it and we know that's a lie. Eventually the showed up to our table with a different tables food. We think our waitress mixed tables and potentially never got our order in. We waited 20 more mins from that moment to even get our food. The food tasted really good as it was really fresh off the kitchen. We have never gotten our food so freshly cooked before which just adds up to them not inputting it in the system. Sadly because the experience had already been so bad, we didn't get to enjoy the food as much. Now the reason I came in, my bday dessert. The waitress tried to tell me that I was limited as to which one I could get and that would've been fine, but I'm the type of person who reads the small print and that's not what the email said. I took the time to log into my account and I was right. It was a bit of a back and forth, but I eventually got my dessert which again was really good, but the experience wasn't. I wouldn't recommend this unless you don't mind super super sweet drinks. The Crab Queso was a bit salty but overall good flavor when it's nice and hot and it's a nice shareable size. The chips were very tasty as well. I would recommend to order this. The Top Sirloin was okay, the best thing about it was it being a medium rare like I requested. The flavor was okay but it was a bit chewy, I wish there was more of a sear on it, I would recommend to upgrade to the filet mignon. The Lobster tail is always very good, I've had lobster at various places and this one is always almost just as good. I would highly recommend the lobster here. The Sailors Boil was comparable in taste to most seafood boil places. I would recommend to Shake the bag when you get it so the flavor gets a better spread. The spicy sausage was the best, shrimp was okay, like most boils the flavor isn't great, mostly just bland. The only bad thing was the corn, it was very soggy. I personally wouldn't order this again, but if you're really into boils this one is good for the price. The flight of margaritas was good I would recommend to get them. The service was nice and fast with friendly staff, the ambiance is quiet and a bit outdated. I gave it a 4 star because the food has been a whole lot better ever since the CEO change, if you haven't been in a while I would definitely recommend to give it another shot. read more

I've been to red lobster countless times in my life. It's usually an enjoyable meal but in my humble opinion, I could take it or leave it. We ordered the lobster dip appetizer. It's supposed to be a mashup of cheese, spinach and artichoke dip and lobster. It's not much in this dish but I didn't taste or see any artichokes. The dip was good but I've had better. I ordered the shrimp meal where you can pick two shrimp options. I was saddened by the difference in taste of the shrimp linguini. The shrimp linguini is a red lobster staple and there was something off about the sauce. I couldn't quite pinpoint it but it wasn't as delicious as I've tried countless times before. The service and ambiance of this location is always lowkey. Our server was kind, attentive and patient. No apologies given by the server. Food also don't come out even though we were waiting until 9:20.. 50 minutes of waiting and not a single staff bat an eye on us. The only thing that came out the whole time was the "Strawberry Breeze" mocktail and it was HORRIBLE. It was literally brown??? Tasted watered down, literal sprite mixed with water. DISAPPOINTING. My friend and I came in at 8:15, said it is 15 to 20min wait. No problem. We were seated by 8:30. Our waitress got our drinks and brought the biscuits. I had to remind her 2x and eventually got everything i needed. - The ingredients were all very fresh though - The honey mustard dressing was a good I was supposed to get to choose 1 side but the waitress didn't give me a choice and brought out my food with rice. - They used to have a great rice pilaf made with wild rice - Now it's soggy rice, looks good but not a good texture in the mouth The shrimp fest was hit and miss: - Shrimp alfredo with linguini was good, a hint of garlic in the cream, but the noodles were overcooked (2 orders) - Grilled shrimps on a skewer (2 orders), overall good but a heavy rosemary taste - Coconut and fried salt/vinegar shrimps were TOO SWEET in the batter, inedible - Shrimp scampi was ok The cheesy buttery buscuits were solid.
