My family and I were driving by this location on the way to the airport and decided to have a bite to eat before we get there. When we arrived we were greeted with a friendly smile from the host and manager who were both in the front. The service was really prompt. our drink order was taken right when we sat down which was nice because it was a hot day. Our server was super friendly and checked on us frequently. The manager stopped by to check on us. After a 10 hour shift...I was hungry and so I went here with my son and his gf bc I didn't feel like cooking at home and nothing else was open at that time. There were only 2 tables being served during our visit. Ours and another table. There were 4 workers from what I saw. 1 cook. 1 server and 1 hostess. Another employee that was sitting at a table the entire time; upon our arrival and our exit. It took them 10 minutes to bring menus and 10 more minutes to ask what we wanted. Another 45 minutes to get our food. I asked for mayonnaise for my burger and was waiting for them to bring it (another 10 minutes) and I turn to go and look to see what's taking so long and the employee was talking with the cook and signaled he'll be just one more moment! SMH! They brought us cold food. Messed up our order, then tried to over charge us on an item that was supposed to be included. When we wanted to pay, they were no where in site! So we got up to pay and 2 of the workers that were supposed to be helping us... were sitting down chatting it up while one was eating! SMH!! Well when I woke up I immediately thought about Denny's and how they still give you a free meal on your birthday. I called Denny's on 132nd and Hawthorne Blvd and spoke with this super nice guy named Daniel (Danny) and I asked if I could get my free birthday breakfast and that today is my birthday. I've worked in the restaurant business as a manager before and let me just start off by say if you don't have the right crew members you won't succeed. Teamwork is what really counts and if it goes wrong management will not rise nor will a restaurant function properly. Everyone must be cooperative, understanding, and friendly in order to achieve greatness. So yeah this location can get busy, and will get hectic but you can see the effort in all the employees that want to serve you right, want you to enjoy your visit. So I believe that they do the best they can to satisfy their guest. By all means this Denny's is outgoing, the management always strives here to make every guest feel welcomed and relaxed while their visit. The waitress are friendly and take orders accurately and serve you within a great full manner. The food takes about 10-20 minutes, although it is always at its right temperature, so never have I ever returned my meal here due to unsatisfactory. The restrooms are always clean and the tables are wiped as soon as the party leaves. The parking lot is really close, and even has additional parking. I love the area and I like this location, I always go and eat here with family. read more

Received terrible service. Placed an online order for pick up at about 11am and went to go pick it up about 25 min later. When I arrived it took a while for them to acknowledge me at the front desk which is fine as I know it can get busy; however, my order was not ready so I continued waiting only for them to not come over until over 8 min later saying they had no recollection of my order and that my payment possibly did not not go through. I checked and the payment had gone through but I was left waiting at the front again for 10 min before I was acknowledged again to show the proof of payment and at that point another employee told me my order had, in fact, been made and that likely someone else took it, I was given no options for a solution and was told they were busy. I waited over 5 min again to speak to someone again and was told that I likely made a mistake and placed it for delivery (which I then showed my receipt proving this was not the case and it was a pick up order at the correct location) and was still not told whether I would be given a refund or get my food remade. At this point I had waited around 30 min total and had to ask what would be done about the situation, I had to wait for my food to be remade & rather than give any type of apology for the inconvenience they tried to blame me for the order not being there. read more

I've been going to this Denny's for years because it's down the street from my home and the overall experience has never been 5 stars, but it's sad to see such a decline in the operations of the restaurant. I'd like this review to reflect more of a sympathetic tone versus an angry one, because it's clear that this team needs some direction. As I walked in, I read the sign that said "Please wait for hostess to be seated," only problem was there was no one there. No one even greeted me, even the staff members who made awkward eye contact didn't bother to at least say, "We'll be right with you." Terrible introduction. The rest of the experience mainly had me focused on the cleanliness standards....or lack there of. Dusty blinds, pepper shaker clearly not cleaned, and not to mention...how long has that balloon been stuck to the ceiling? Anyway, the sign on the front door says it all. I've been coming here since I was a kid. And I take my kids here too. Yesterday was the first time I've been here since the pandemic hit and tbh. It was nice. The guidelines were met when I came and there was a sign as well for when the servers arrive. The servers have a mask and facegaurd. My server was Maria and she did really well in accommodating my family. She was also very sweet and considerate when taking my kids orders (they're really shy). This Denny's had gone down hill since the new Owner. When I got here this morning the gentleman sitting across from me asked the manager for a coffee mug that did not have liftstick on it. The managers reply was "My Bad". That is not a proper reply. She is that unprofessional. The portions get smaller by the day but the prices don't. They are always loosing their cooks because of the managers bad attitude. They are understaffed, I've started to dread coming here when I used to love it. The waiters are mostly pleasent for the exception of a few bad apples. Tony and Joseph are my favorite two, they never let me down. The evening service is even worst. You wait at least 20 minutes to get seated, another 20 to have your order taken and at least 30 minutes to get your COLD order. If you send it back to get warm food, it's an additional 15-20 minute wait. How rediculous is that. I will be taking my business elsewhere. read more

To my surprise when I received my to go order everything was exactly as I requested. This is the worst Dennys ever!!! I ordered two orders of the moons over my hammy, no ham, add bacon. When she repeated my order she said moons over my hammy add bacon. I said ma'am please make sure you don't but ham on my sandwiches. I would like to substitute the bacon for ham. She assured me she got it. Of course I got the shit and it's wrong. They added bacon to the sandwich with ham which I don't eat and charged me extra for adding instead of substituting. I'll never come here again. It's a small detail but with food allergies and stuff they need to be more careful. I called them back and no one would answer. Any time I would get an answer they put me on hold or transferred me back to the line that just rings. Ugh!!! And it's Mother's Day!!! I would definitely not recommend this dennys because they rush and are lazy, and don't care about the details.
