The food was okay. Although for the place being empty it did take a while to get our food. We got half our order and then had to wait about 5 - 7 minutes for the rest. The service was okay but Denny's waitstaff all seem to hate their job as well as people. I've been to the one in North Smithfield and will never go back. Stopped in this morning to have breakfast. The place was very clean, though there were not to many people there. I had the Grand Slamwich, It had sausage, bacon, ham and cheese on Potato bread. Small portion had only 2 eggs on it, tasted pretty good with my coffee. I haven't been to a Denny's in a long time. Customer service was excellent. The waitress was a sweetheart. Never had a bad experience at a Dennys untill now. Took the family out to dinner on 6/26/15 and was not pleased. The wait staff was pleasant and did a good job, even though the the manager seemed to be giving them a hard time over nothing, they were doing fine. Then comes the food....Everything was flavorless and cold. It seemed as if nothing was really cooked and all came out of a frozen pouch and was poorly microwaved. 2 Lumber jack specials and 2 kids meals with drinks. 50 bucks gone and I left furious. This was our first trip to this Denny's. It was a Saturday night with a fairly big crowd. The place is very modern with comfortable good sized booths. They seated us right away and we were very happy with the waiter. He was very attentive especially important because we changed part of our order a few times and he got everything right. The quality of the food was excellent. The only complaint (not worth mentioning) was the wood stripping around the outer edge of the table that stuck out in one corner, but not interfering with where we were seated. read more

My friends and I arrived here about 230am last night, noticing that there were a few tables open but there were still people waiting. No biggie.. after waiting 5 minutes for a host, there was no one to greet us and the party of 3 in front of us had not put their names down yet either. When I got there,we sat down and found out what we were going to order. After thirty minutes, we still had not ordered while other people were getting their food. I complained to the waitress and she said I will be right there. It was a whole 15 more minutes before she finally took our order. The biggest problem with this location is the lack of staff and leadership. We arrived on a typically busy Sunday morning, with the lobby filled with people waiting. There was no one at the podium taking names so people started signing themselves in. In the 20 minutes we waited not 1 table was seated even though 10 tables had left. The manager finally came out and started organizing the list and started having tables cleaned so people could be seated. I would not recommend this location of you plan on being in & out within a normal amount of time. Once seated we had a wonderful & attentive waitress. I have been to many Denny's before and by far this is the best location I've ever eaten at. The overall atmosphere is much cleaner and friendlier than the Warwick location, slightly bigger as well. It doesn't feel as crowded. The food here seems to be slightly better than at other locations, it seems to be prepared with more care. The servers are mostly friendly and helpful. This is a brand new location so I was ready for a great dining experience. What a huge disappointment. The service was slow and forgetful, the food came out and had obviously been sitting for a while as our eggs were cold as were the hash browns and my pancakes, which were a special, had melted completely so that the toppings were sliding right off the plate. At least I got mine, my sisters didn't arrive until after she'd finished her meal. Her eggs were wrong (she kept them by choice), and we had to request refills on coffee. Went to this recently opened Denny's at 11 AM on weekday. My companion and I were seated right away in a corner booth, which was reasonably comfortable. The interior was very clean and modern. We were served coffee right away, and our order was served promptly in 10 minutes. I ordered the French Toast Slam (two slices of french toast, scrambled eggs, two slices of bacon, and two sausage links) and an extra side of bacon and sausage. The standard coffee is a mild blend, which is fairly weak, so I would recommend the bold blend if you prefer strong coffee. The food itself was average at best. The scrambled eggs weren't very hot, the bacon was somewhat chewy for my taste, and the french toast was rather bland and could have used more cinnamon. On a positive note, the portions were excellent, and the waiter was very attentive, bringing us napkins and coffee refills. Positives: pleasant dining atmosphere, quick service, attentive staff, fairly extensive menu options, adequate portions, open 24 hours. Negatives: Bland, lackluster food, weak coffee. read more

This Denny's is probably the worst Denny's location. I've given it many chances as it's the closest Denny's to my house but after this I'm just going to save my money and drive a little extra for a decent experience. What Denny's seats you on a football Sunday, where hardly any people are out dinning, so the restaurant is very quiet, yet STILL manage to walk by you seventeen times without a single employee asking you for even a beverage. After 20 minutes without any attention we left and went elsewhere. A year later we went back and ordered the Mediterranean chicken which comes with feta cheese crumbles and sundried tomatoes. The waitress brings out grilled chicken without tomatoes or cheese on it and doesn't see anything wrong with the plate. Maybe if your staff knew the menu and had DECENT wait staff someone would've caught this issues - once I brought it to the waitresses attention it was THEN that she informed me that the kitchen was out of the cheese crumbles and tomatoes. As a former waitress I know that it there is a modification to a plate due to the kitchen being out of something, you inform your customer BEFORE you dish the plate and ask if they'd like something else seeing as the MAIN INGREDIENTS are missing. But no mention of this happened until after I had the food in front of me for ten minutes. Not even a management comp was offered - without those two ingredients I had plain grilled chicken. Now today after waiting over an hour and change through GrubHub, I paid $33 for cold chocolate chip banana pancakes which came with no banana. We substituted red potatoes instead of hash browns and still got hashbrowns... the eggs were all wrong.. finally learned my lesson with this place - seriously fuck this Denny's and their inability to read a proper order correctly nevermind pay attention to a seated guest. It's apparent that rolling silverware and gossiping over the counter is more important than providing an acceptable dinning experience. Never offered refills for any of our drinks - we had to ask for them. Had to ask for napkins AND silverware as there were not anyon the table. Never did receive spoons, had to stir our coffee with a knife ! had to also ask for sugar as there were not any on the TWO tables we occupied. The kitchen could not handle the orders coming in...Heard someone saying stop the tickets so can work on what they had All of the plates were NOT hot only mildly warm. manager implied I didnt order mine without mushrooms..(as ticket indicated).she implied we were wrong instead of the kitchen staff that could not handle the incoming orders. She basically said it wasn't their fault; don't want to make the cook mad. She made no effort to make thing right, no effort of an apology. After 10 minutes, someone said to get the 'remake' going. After 1/2 hour of watching my family eat, we were told my remake was just in the pan. Had to request my order be removed from total because I never received it. read more

This was my second time here. Both around 3pm, both times we were the only customers in there. My first time, the waitress left us with empty drinks for over 20 minutes, my salad was beyond soggy and overall the service was completely terrible!! I decided to give it one more chance but the same thing happened today. We were without drinks for 20 minutes, while all the staff sat there and conversated without moving once!!!! I purposely didn't call her over today to see how long it would take her, and after the 20 minutes I had to ask her to get us our drinks. Mind you again, we were the only people in there ! We had nachos as an appetizer, and we got the half sized one when we were supposed to get the full. My salad came out messed up because she entered the wrong thing. My boyfriends meal was cold by the time he got it. I'm never one to complain but I am absolutely shocked about both of my experiences here. My waitress either looked like she had no sleep for days or she was high as a kite. I had to keep reminding her to get things that we should of had in the first place. I have never seen this in my life !! While the whole staff was sitting around doing nothing they could have been cleaning the piles of stuff off the window sills or the cob webs on the lamps. Or better yet, give us great customer service like they should supposed to be doing! I will never be coming here again! I don't even know how this waitress and some staff still have their jobs.
