Denny's El Toro road is a wonderful place to have breakfast with a culture of amazing attitude and service as well as a very good value.

Dayana, is the best waitress. All on top of things and always pleasent. We just love her to pieces.

Came for a late breakfast this morning. I ordered the 55+ Omelette ( bacon, cheddar cheese , tomatoes & onion). It came with English muffin and delicious crisp hash brown potatoes. The omelette was light and fluffy. Thee service was fast and excellent. Will be back soon. read more

According to the city of Lake Forest website, this Denny's participated in their gift card program, however when we tried to use the card at this location, the manager had no idea and told us they didn't take it. UPDATE: We were invited to return by their manager. The second visit was much improved and they did take our Lake Forest gift card. We will be back. read more

Came here for breakfast on Christmas Day. They were busy, but we got greeted and seated immediately. Shortly after we were sat, our server came by and offered assistance and was friendly. The entire team was dressed sharp and the place was maintained clean. We received our food within 10 minutes and got our coffees immediately. As others finished their meals, the tables were quickly bussed and reset for the next guests. Literally within 30 seconds. We ordered some eggs after and got them delivered quickly. This operation was very well run, and they were sure setup and staffed for success on a busy day for them. Kudos to the management and the team. I ordered a cheese burger with just cheese and ketchup only. When I got the cheese burger, it was not what I ordered. The fries and burger were so greasy that I could only eat 1/4th of the food, it was the worst meal I've ever had. Plus, I had to go to the front counter and get my own napkins. I'm a disabled person having to go get my own napkins. I guess Dennys doesn't have properly trained cooks or waiters to assess handicap personnel. I normally don't write bad post about restaurants but the Dennys in El Toro off of El Toro rd get a absolute zero and I don't understand why they are still open. I'll be sure to warn my family and good friends never to visit this poor excuse of a restaurant ever again. read more

I don't like chain restaurants. I avoid them at all costs but I have to say that I've been coming to this Denny's for breakfast for quite some time. The service is always excellent and this simple vegetable omelet with caramelized onions tomatoes peppers mushrooms and Swiss cheese was delicious. I asked for my hash browns extra crispy and that's what I got. I forced myself to finish the plate although I was full about halfway through. Good job read more

Diana and I had lunch at Denny's Restaurant in Lake Forest. Isidoro the very nice manager and Alonso were super nice and friendly. I had the Bourbon Bacon Burger with fries. delish Diana had Mama's Pot Roast Bowl with garlic bread. Both are new menu items and amazing! For dessert I had; Strawberry Cheesecake with whipped cream. Ohh so good! We stopped another day. I had the Double Cheeseburger with fries also a new menu item. Diana had the Philly Cheesesteak Omelette. They both had a good combination of flavors! They turned me away because they do not honor the birthday value slam. I sat and waited for the woman server for 10 minutes even though the entire place was empty after I had already told the male host that sat me for water that is what I was ordering. I've been coming to this Denny's for over seven years now, and the service has always been great. But Miriam? She's on another level. She's hands-down the best waitress there. She's always so quick and efficient when taking orders, and she's got this amazing way of staying one step ahead of you. Like, before you even notice your coffee or drink is running low, she's already there with a refill. It's like she has a sixth sense for what you need. Even on the busiest weekends or holidays, when the place is packed, she never misses a beat. She's always so attentive and makes sure everyone at her tables feel taken care of. We went in for a breakfast and their food was ok. This one star is for the lost jacket I went back in to retrieve but was told they didn't have it. We left the place like 5 mins then I quickly realized I have left my new black North Face jacket there. Called the manger immediately and asked him to check with the waitress D, I heard them talking over the phone and the manager said they have it so we quickly returned and was shown three cheap black vest/CK jacket/sweater then said thats all they had. I've been coming here for a few months now and my wife and I really enjoy it. We went of Sunday after church and dined-in. They are enforcing the mask and the social distancing. They are allowing dine-in inside and outdoor as well. Inside, they are limiting capacity and all the eating booth have a tall glass window (I believe) in between each booth. Staff wears masks at all times and sits are clean and sanitized in between customers. Staff is very friendly and professional. They treat you well and keep their distance. The food is really good, I always go for the lumber jack breakfast and coffee. My wife usually built a her own breakfast. We haven't been disappointed by the food or the service here so far. We are really thankful for the staff and management for keeping this restaurant location open for business and for following safety procedures to try to keep everyone safe. I was in the area because I was set to take a standardized test at a local test center. I got there several hours early, so I decided to stop by here for some coffee. The place was pretty busy, so I decided to get my coffee to go. I went up to the cashier and ordered a simple iced black coffee. One of the workers came out of the kitchen ten minutes later, with a cup of hot black coffee. I politely told him that I ordered it iced, and if he could give me a tall cup of ice. He came out with a plastic cup and one ice cube. Sarcastically, he told me "there you go, now you can make your iced coffee." Passive aggressive, are we? I just told him to forget about it, I'm cancelling my order. He kept on going with the sarcasm, to which I responded in the same. I left and found another coffee source, which thankfully had better and stronger coffee. This place was clean enough, as was their restrooms. But their customer service was non-existent that day. I don't think I'll be back here, seeing as I don't live in the area nor have any business ties. But I did report the guy in question, so let's see what comes from that. read more

Consistently bad service, long waits, overpriced, don't offer any of the menu deals offered at other locations, and food is prepared poorly. Decided to give them a shot again today and my food literally made me gag and nearly induced vomiting. I ordered a side of pancakes and a side biscuit with gravy. Clearly not many people order biscuits because the gravy had literal clumps of fat, was cooked in old oil that went bad, only 3 small bites of sausage, and the biscuits were raw. I took literally two bites and couldn't eat anymore because I was grossed out. The pancakes, a classic, were both burnt and had black spots from burnt food that had been cooked on the same grill previously. I ate what I could and left over 1/2. When we told our server we'd like our biscuits comped, he fought. He literally took a fork from someone at our table and cut the biscuit and scraped it (the gooey nature was visible at this point) and he argued about how if we want them "hard and burnt" we could have asked for that. He said he could comp that portion of the meal but it wasn't fair because we "ate the whole thing" referring to the two bites I had taken and forced myself not to spit back onto the plate. I wish I would have taken a picture of our meal because it was beyond disappointing, but even worse was the service. The manager at this location is a cheapskate and has clear anger issues -- not fit for the service industry. read more

Every time I have been here it is a pleasant experience. The food is always delicious. Our server has been Israel. Israel is very kind, attentive, and has great customer service. I have tried the double cheeseburger, build your own slam, Oreo milkshake, wings, choconana pancakes, and Loaded nacho burrito. I recommend all of these items. I have to start by saying I didnt even remember this Dennys was here. I guess I am blinded by the Sizzler across from it.... I love me some Sizzler. Anyway, I met with a friend of mine in town for Christmas, on Christmas day and I remembered the commercial for Dennys on TV stating they were open. It was less crowded than I expected, I think... I dont know why, I figured a lot of people would go out to breakfast since they were open. I got there around 8 and there was no wait for a table. I ordered the Pumpkin Pecan Pie Pancake breakfast and it was delicious. I ate every single bite. My adult son likes to go to Denny's. I agreed and we both had coffee and a grand slam meal. When I saw the bill was $52.61 with tax and tip, I said never again. It's just not worth it. I can make breakfast at home for the both of us for $7.46 including coffee ($2.50 for 2 eggs each and 2 eggs for the pancake mix, $1.50 for Kodiac pancake mix using water, $1.50 for 4 pieces of bacon, $1.67 for four sausage links, $0.29 for two coffees made at home). When they're charging more than seven times then my food costs that's ridiculous. read more
