After work I went to Denny's .The positivity and professionalism that I was greeted with was something I would equate to a five star restaurant. The server Juan was very hospitable and accommodating. This is rare nowadays when you go out to restaurants especially when it's later in the evening in the workday is almost done. Juan gave me options for my food that I didn't even think of and he did it in a inviting way and not a pushing /promoting way. I had placed a to go order and he even went through and showed me everything that was in the bag so I knew I would be satisfied with everything I had ordered and he explained why some of the food was organize the way it was. I was so impressed I asked if I could speak to his manager. That is when I met Edwardo. Edwardo immediately greeted me with a smile and when I gave him the compliment Of his staff member you could tell he had a lot of pride with his employees and with his work. He explained how this particular employee has worked his way up. He also explained that he stresses importance and proper training on how to socializes people when you are at the register, when you're at the table, and when you answer the phone lines. This is an artform lost at many businesses. It is so wonderful to see a manager who really cares about his employees and the success of the company that he was working for. Coming here for Christmas would be absolutely the last thing I would chose to do, but for the in laws I figured suck it up. The service was fantastic, they really have great crew working here and the food came out quickly despite being so busy. What is just really unacceptable is the food. I would put it right there between hospital and airplane meals, the salmon such bad quality, the salads overdressed, the breakfast dishes had no flavor whatsoever, just very very basic cheap food. I come to this place all the time and today was REALLY disappointing! We had to ask for our bill (and and a couple other customers were trying to figure out where to pay their bill because no one seem to be there to take our money)because we've been waiting for it for the longest time. We only saw our service associate twice--taking our order and dropping off our order. There was only two of us and we got a total of 4 cups of coffee because we can't get anyone. We can't even bring to their attention that our order was missing sautéed mushrooms--we have to bring it up at the cash register so that we don't get charge--so we didn't get charge. But as I got home, about to toss my receipt, I noticed that I got charged for 4 CUPS of coffee. So I called and asked how they charge for coffee when you order a cup--you're suppose to get charged once and refills are free...we got a total of 4 cups of coffee and got charged for 4. The person who picked up the phone said that they'll refund us when we stop by with our reciept or not charge us coffee for our next visit--I'll be seeing this when I go back to get my money back of $3.69X2-it's not much but I'm just so disappointed and inconvenienced that when I'm in the neighborhood.,I'll definitely get my refund. And for those who are wondering, we didn't leave any tip. We didn't even have time or opportunity to give tip (if we wanted to) because no one was there to hand our bill and when we got to the counter where we can pay.,no one seems to want to take our money! This location is open 24 hours. I've taken advantage of the early open hours. On a few occasions I've dropped by early for breakfast around 4:30 AM. Since it's so early in the morning there's only a handful of customers so you're able to pick a table and sit where you like. There is a regular server named Mario, he's been here every time I've stopped in for breakfast. He's very attentive always checking if anything else is needed and keeps my cup of coffee hot. No paper towels, urine on the floor and diapers were stacked on top of the over-filled trashcan. It took us 30 minutes to get our food, and when our food did come they forgot to bring out my sons meal so we had to wait an additional 10 minutes. Then the waiter was nice enough to tell us that they are extra busy because the health department shut down the other restaurant on Alicia parkway, not what you want to hear when you're about to eat. We left half of our food on our plates, paid for our nasty meal and left. On our way out another overflowing trash can with soiled diapers on top. This location is not the best. The food today was not so fresh. The omlettes we got had meat and veggies in them but the veggies look like they've been overcooked or old. The hash browns weren't hot when they came out, barely warm. The burger was good, super juicy! We also got onion rings and those were delicious! Service was good too. This Denny's runs like a well-oiled machine. They are very efficient here and get people in and out quickly all while providing great service. I had read online about the Denny's in the nearby area and was impressed by the El Toro location's 4-star rating so I decided to see for myself. The place was decked out to the nines in all american paraphernalia: red, white, and blue banners strung up on the ceilings, american flags, and it was literally a full house. The whole restaurant was bustling and noisy and you could tell that business was very good. It's a good sign when a restaurant is as busy as it was. We had read about Fernando and his amazing service and lo and behold, we got him as our waiter! He was extremely gracious and friendly and upbeat and gentlemanly (weird for a Denny's but appreciated!). My bf ordered the bday grand slam and i got this sticky bun french toast thing that was too sweet. It wasn't bad..just a little sweet. And what I thought were sugared nuts just seemed to be crunch balls of sugar. I'd like to try the banana nut and honey french toast but I'm afraid that it would be too sweet also. Most of the white on one of my eggs was missing (they definitely move fast in the kitchen). They were nice enough to honor the free bday grand slam despite it being the day after his bday. By far the best experience ever at this Denny's location. Starting with an excellent greeting from Jessie the General manager, greet my family like no other and seat us immediately. At the table we were greeted by Dayanna G., well let me tell you something, she was the most professional server, she even remember us from previous visits to this location, she got our drink order (party of 4), brought those drinks In less than 2 minutes!! Wooowwwwwwww!! She got our food order, repeat everything back to us to make sure she got the right items, our food was delivery at the table in less that 7-8 minutes! That was fantastic. She personally delivery the food to our table to make sure everything was right. She kept checking on us every 10 which that tells me we were on her mind and she didn't forget about us.
