It's 24/7, sigh, only if you must. It's really not good. On the I-5 right off the I-46 (Paso Robles) off-ramp, is perhaps the largest stops you'll find along the SF-LA route. Lots of gas stations and fast foods galore. Denny's, sigh, is the only "restaurant" among them. It has all the Denny's items, full menu, but it's sub-par all the way. Food is greasy, salty, and highly mediocre. I've been a few times, and sometimes it's a must stop, especially if you have others with you who need a full sitdown break from the drive. But I'm telling you, try to avoid. It steals all my positivity, I don't even think about doing my Yelp check-in! read more

And the pancakes themselves- pumpkin-something special flavor- I liked that they had nuts, but had some additional flavors that made me gag. Maybe they didn't clean the grill before cooking, I don't know. But it tasted disgusting. Masked with syrup. Between that and the corn, it just tells me they need something positive to happen in the kitchen. I wouldn't order a salad from here. Horrible customer service . Untrained staff . Not clean . Long wait times even for Denny's

This review is based on one time I dined here passing through. It's right off the freeway, so it's a good stopping point on a road trip. Food was decent. French toast was great but everything else was super greasy. BLT was not as good as at other Denny's locations and was dripping grease, with not enough lettuce and barely any tomato in there. Tables looked like they had been cleaned. Server checked in on us to see if we needed anything and was friendly. The only thing was that the bathroom was dirty so I couldn't use it and a soap dispenser was empty. And the server had long fake nails, which is a violation of California food handler codes due to the germs that get trapped under the nails. read more

One word: terrible. Terrible customer service, below-average food, and just a bad experience. My family and I came here at 9:45 am, just as a pit stop to LA. We got our DRINKS after waiting for at least 30 minutes. My sister ordered the horchata milkshake and pointed it out on the menu. 45 minutes pass by and she decided to cancel it, and the waitress said "oh I thought you wanted the dessert". WTF??? We only ordered 2 full plates of food and 1 appetizer. The "loaded nachos tots" were oily, mushy, and just plain disgusting with all the excess sour cream. If anything I'd highly recommend eating at a Denny's along I-5 rather than stopping at the places which seem to be independantly run. At least here, we got a huge breakfast at a decent price. Although overly salty, my grand slam breakfast hit the spot at 11pm when we were just too tired to go any further, but wanted to keep driving a little longer. The service was excruciatingly slow at this time of night, but there was only one person in the kitchen and one behind the counter. There were 3 gals ahead of us getting take out and so we weren't seated until they had been taken care of. There was another diner in there besides us, but other than that, that was it. The food arrived and we devoured it because we were starving. Still, I was happy with it and it cost me less than $15 for 2 breakfasts, a juice and a coffee. Dinner at this Dennys location was pretty excellent. Service was slow at first, but once our food came it picked up. I ordered the Mediterranean chicken with broccoli and mashed potatoes. The chicken was topped with diced tomatoes and feta cheese (the Mediterranean part), which paired perfectly with the chicken. It was seasoned and cooked to perfection as well. The broccoli had a nice, buttery taste, like the pre-buttered them for me. I loved it. It was just the right amount to still feel healthy without sacrificing flavor. The mashed potatoes were my favorite part, mostly because I was expecting cheap, potato flake type mashed potatoes, and instead I received real mashed red-skinned potatoes. Also seasoned perfectly. The problem with this location is the location of the restaurant itself. It resides in the town of Lost Hills. If you have never been here, I don't recommend you start now. The traffic is so bad it took us close to thirty minutes just to leave town, and the town is not that big. Stop here at your own risk, and maybe if you're not in too big of a hurry. read more

We stopped in for breakfast after a four hour trip from Los Angeles. It was not busy - pretty calm actually. We were promptly greeted and seated in a booth - close to the door. Alejandra was our waiter. She was friendly enough and took our drink order and in just a few minutes we were enjoying our beverages. I had coffee - which was okay - not the best, but it's Denny's. I am okay with that. We ordered and waited for our food to arrive. After what seemed to be a long wait, our food finally (20 - 25 minutes) arrived.I had the Loaded veggie Omelette. It was okay at best. Just not put together nicely and not tasty - just tolerable. My wife had the Waffle - which appeared to be hot and she enjoyed it. I especially liked the pour spout on the syrup. It was one that you typically see on booze bottles in bars. It limits the flow and you can point the bottle and direct the syrup. Our friends ordered the Grand Slamwich and the Blueberry Pancake Breakfast. When the food was delivered the blueberry pancakes were not ready yet and she said she would be right back with them. it had to have been 15 minutes before they FINALLY arrived. How long can it take to make pancakes? She said the were good and they certainly looked good, but I have made pancakes before and they don't take that long to make. (35 minutes??) There's a reason I stopped going to Denny's ans today reminded why. The breakfast was cold and I asked for crispy hash browns and crispy bacon. The bacon was limp so I nicely asked for it to be cooked over big mistake. They brought back so hard I could barely chew it. So I asked why they microwaved it the waitress said the deep fried it!!!!! We've been here before and the first time was really good. This time was just so very poor. When we walked in today it looked like business was slow; only three tables were full. But our wait to get noticed by our server for a greeting and any water/coffee was over 45 minutes. There were people that came in after us that ordered, ate and left before we even saw our server. I had to go up to the register and ask for water. Once we received that from the manager(?), our server came over to ask about drinks. We ordered drinks and the food at once. Our waitress served her larger table that was there after us, she served another table of two that was there after us and while she served the larger table again, she had two plates left on the tray that she took to the back towards the kitchen. It was our food...a few minutes later she brought our plates out. My side of fries was warm, my fish was hot and my broccoli was ice cold. I sent it back and advised I didn't want anything else. My husband's food was the same, hot entree and warm side. He was ok with it. Our server didn't come back to check to see how everything was. I had to get up again to ask for a refill of my husband's drink. The manager never came over to say anything about my food i sent back. Our server did apologize for the food and towards the end she when she brought the refill that I asked for, she stated, "I'm sorry. I've been running around." I'm not sure if it was a training issue, or just a lack of attention/team work/support on management's part, but it is a good thing to circle around to the tables that you have. Greetings, drinks and even a quick disclosure of being busy would have left me with a feeling of attentiveness that would have carried over in the experience. There was nothing and a general ambiance of no care for customer service. This was pretty bad service. I am not sure if we will come back anytime soon. read more

Oh Denny's, how very disappointed I am. If you are thinking of going here. DONT. You would be better off on an empty stomach. First, it took us 5 minuets to be seated with no one waiting to be seated. One of the waiters seated us, not even the hostess. We then received our menus, and choose our food with in 2 mins of being seated. We closed our menus and waited for our order to be taken. It wasn't for another 15 mins. After ordering, it took another 30 to receive 3 pancakes, which I can make at home In about 2 minuets. As I was sitting there, the booth next to us was being cleaned up and as that happened the person cleaning the table spilt milk on me. She didn't really do anything but apologize. I then realized that the clock was off by a hour. Last time I checked, day lights savings wasn't any time soon. The food was below average. My 11 year old sister makes better pancakes, and hers are not thawed out and microwaved. Anyways, I did not tip. I couldnt believe that I actually had to pay for that garbage. The building was really gross. Our booth was really gross. I sat on the edge of my seat the whole time because I was to grossed out to actually sit in the booths. Overall, DONT GO HERE. This is really a reminder to myself never to stop here again on our I-5 road trips. The service is extremely slow (even when they're not busy) and the food is so-so. I ordered the "loaded veggie omelet". Our server had no idea of whether the kitchen cooked their eggs with milk because "it all comes prepackaged". It was supposed to be a "fit fare" item and it was completely loaded with salt! Plus, we are in a hurry to get back on the road (aren't diners supposed to be quick?) and our meal takes an hour to arrive. Oh yes, they also served the adults first and made the kids wait. Family and friends came to this Denny's for a quick lunch stop. We were heading up to Stockton to get dropped off at University of the Pacific because our spring break was over. The Denny's looks fairly nice from the outside there is plenty of parking around it. Walked inside it's fairly crowded we waited for about 15 minutes until we were seated. While waiting there were a few customers who were complaining about the servers not letting them pay their receipts and ignoring them. It gave me a little hint that this place would not have good customer service. The place itself is ok, it's not that clean the floors are pretty dirty already. The tables were decent not thoroughly cleaned. There seemed to be a lack of servers in this establishment and a few didn't even look interested in helping the customers. It took about 15 minutes before a server actually came to get our drink orders. We ended up just ordering our food with it might as well since they are fairly busy. We got our waters after 15 minutes. The water tasted really really weird (like a huge amount of chlorine), me and my friends ended up just not drinking them. Even the people sitting not too far from us got waters and ended up getting new drinks so it wasn't just us. In the end we just ordered ourselves new drinks.. At least when the food came out it looked pretty appetizing. The food was alright, I would give this place 1 star the service was not great at all and the water literally killed our tastebuds. Overall experience just skip the water and choose something safer like orange juice. I don't know if I'll return to this Denny's ever. read more

Each time the waitress walked by she would stop and tell us she'll be back in one moment. Finally ordered and had to wait 35 mins for the food to come out. With us there are 10 people in the restaurant. All other tables already have their food. Horrible. people should just go to one of the other drive thrus nearby.
