We can't believe it has taken us so long to visit Jose's Country Kitchen. Wow! We will be back very soon! This unassuming restaurant is a hidden gem behind the truck stop. But don't let that deter you from visiting! We were both very impressed with our breakfasts. My partner had the Southern Breakfast. The homemade sausage patty was spectacular - so flavorful & moist! A real star! Perfect biscuits the size of a cat's head (!), succulent gravy, eggs cooked to perfection. I wasn't sure he'd be able to eat all of it given the generous portion size, but it was so delicious that he couldn't resist. I enjoyed my Sunrise Sandwich. The ham was perfect, eggs over hard - the best for inside a sandwich, cheese, on buttery toasted sourdough. I ordered my hash browns extra crispy and they were perfectly executed. Fast & friendly service. Reasonably priced especially given the quality & volume. We won't eat again until dinner for sure! Thank you for a wonderful breakfast!! See you soon!!

This restaurant, which is essentially hidden behind a truck stop was amazing! It was a super pleasant surprise. The food was absolutely delicious and fresh. Really had that homemade feel. the hot chocolate came in a massive supersized mug and was topped with whipped cream and sprinkles. My wife was in heaven. We truly enjoyed this wonderful cafe, where I had the best carnitas I've ever eaten. Big thumbs up!! Definitely worth searching for if ur in the area.

I've been here twice and the food and service are very good. The specials are more affordable and as awesome as the menu items. There's good quality and value here.

    Great small town feels !

Fantastic homemade fries, fresh beef burgers, delicious homemade pies, & awesome 80s-90s tunes! I loved our waitress too!

4 1/2 stars. Stopped here for quick lunch based on their high ratings. Menu is vast, so something here for all tastes. Our foursome had a variety of sandwiches and all were great. Son really liked the French fries. Outdoor seating available too. This is a nice spot that I'd describe as an old fashioned, local grill. Lots of Mexican dishes also available. The day we went they had all you can eat beef tacos as a special.

Found a new to me great burger place. It's hidden behind the truck stop on 101 between Paso and San Miguel. Burger was big and juicy. Fries were good, sweet potato fry's were great. Prices were very reasonable. The server was a joy.

I have been stopping here for years! Best diner on the 101!! Chile Verde and eggs or the breakfast burritos are my personal picks.

Absolutely loved this diner. The music was spot on and the food delicious. Portions are humongous. The service was southern hospitality.

I usually get the 805 Breakfast Burrito ($7.99), with french fries in it. I want to try their Hot Cheetos Burrito ($10.99). Their red and green salsa are both really good! The green is definitely roasted green pepper (and tomatillo?) as you can see the little flecks of tender charring in it. Yum, I think I'll get some today. They carry Mexican sodas, beer, and many other tasty beverages. Parking lot is up and over a little hill so watch your undercarriage.

They expanded from the corner to the adjacent, bigger building! The food was just as good as we remember it, we got shrimp tacos and pastor tacos that were delicious. Congrats to them and def must try the food or visit if you need groceries !
