My son and I were hit with an unpleasant odor as soon as we walked through the front door-still not sure what the source of the stink was. It was a late Saturday morning and there weren't too many people there, but when we asked for a booth there wasn't one readily available because they hadn't been cleaned off yet. Moderate amount of trash on the floor, as well. Our food was pretty good, but our wait time was longer than it should have been; even the waitress said, "Finally," when she delivered our plates. Our waitress was pleasant throughout our time there, but another one, who moved at a slug's pace, looked like she'd rather be somewhere else. Then after waiting to take our drink order we decided to leave for Denny's. At Denny's, with a half full restaurant, we were second in line and seated immediately. For the first time ever, my wife and I were traveling on the road and the motel at which we stayed had a Denny's for a restaurant. We ordered typical diner fare: burgers and fries, I had a hot coffee, and the wife had a soda pop. I had low expectations, but the food was pretty good quality, and the service was moderately attentive. A pleasant surprise. I came to this Denny's twice in one day because I stayed at the hotel and got a free voucher for breakfast. If I only came there for breakfast, I would've given 5 stars. My morning waitress was kind to my twin boys, they made a huge mess and she greeted us with a smile, took care of all our needs and made sure we got all the food on time. The waitress in the afternoon was a different story. She visibly frowned when we told her we had the partnership vouchers. Our food (which was just the grand slam with eggs, bacon, hash browns and pancakes) came nearly an hour after we ordered - an hour! When the food came to the table, the butter was fully melted onto the pancake as if it was sitting under the heat lamp, the hash browns were nearly burned and the pancakes were turned over onto the back because the tops were burned. Sunday, March 9, 2025, my sister and I stopped to get breakfast and we're not acknowledged the entire time we stood there, waiting to be seated. 3-4 minutes. The restaurant was not crowded. A white couple came in and was automatically acknowledged and seated promptly. My sister and I were never seated or served. It is 2025, racism still exists. Unacceptable. You would have thought after Dennys was sued in 1994 and had to pay 54mil, they would have learned. I guess not. My advice, go to the waffle shop across the street. They provide excellent customer service and acknowledged you when you come in. read more

Poorly cooked steak. So far the worst ribeye steak I had in a restaurant. The steak felt old and was room temperature when delivered after a long wait. The chicken tenders for my children were burnt. Overall, the food was poorly prepared and did not feel fresh at all. The waitress was average, but she disappeared for a while; thus, leaving me to ask other waitress for help. I want to point out that she was very polite and nice, but the long wait experience, her disappearing, and bad food contributed to my recommendation to look elsewhere. read more

This place was actually donkey. I went here because I was driving back home from Florida and it was connected to a hotel but didn't seem that bad. When I came in there were only 2 workers. I got sat down and ordered my drink which took pretty long only for a lemonade. After I got my drink I had to wait 10 MINUTES to order my food and then it took 30 MINUTES for only one plate. The hash browns were so soggy and actually so disgusting like it's worse than the ones you could buy from Walmart in those freezers. And the eggs were alright but they only gave me like one single egg. It was also very quiet for some reason and there was no music at all. I don't recommend going here just go to the Waffle House right next to this place it's most likely way better. read more

Denny's staff provided free pancakes for students at Robeson Community College in partnership with RCC's Counseling & Career Services. The staff were extremely nice and the pancakes were delicious. They provided their spring and summer menu and I couldn't help but visit the restaurant to partake in their new items. The French toast in the restaurant was spot on! I read the review and it stated exactly what I experienced. The server was very polite and brought our drinks out right away. We had to wait over two hours to get our food. The manager at the end give us 10%off the bill for the two hour wait. The food was average and the restaurant was clean, the wait for the food was unacceptable. The manager told my wife "we only have one cook." Everyone in the restaurant was upset. The management in this restaurant should be replaced. I will not eat at this establishment and I do not recommend this place unless you have three hours to kill. The waiters deserve a five star, who did a great job with the drinks, they were great. Just wanted to get on here and commend Shaina. She was our waitress on our trip to Pineville,SC. Shaina was not only a fantastic host but she even made our first road trip more pleasant. Don't get me wrong, that Dennys period was great from the food which was delicious to the most pleasant manager and waitresses. There was another waitress there her name was Jennifer. Haven't ate here in a long time for breakfast but you never have to wait to be seated. The menu is big and you can create your own meal or make substitutions. The hosts was friendly and had a big smile. Our waitress was too fast. She only asked my mom she wanted to drink and stormed off. Mind you, it was just my mom and myself dining. I got the cinnamon cream cheese pancake special with scrambled egg(s), turkey sausage and grits as substitutions. I expected more sausage and grits. The pancakes' topping made it delicious. I wish it was added on the second pancake. Butter was already in my grits which wasn't that cool if I was concerned about weight or had an allergy. The waitress advised us I we needed anything else, we'd need to wait (yes wait) for the other waitress in duty because she was going on break but she was us to pay before she left. read more

Horrible service. Wait to get seated and the front lady kept saying one moment. After my friend and myself grabbed our own table we ate our whole meal without the waitress looking at us, not once or walk by us to ask for anything. My friend never got his toast after the waitress said it will be out in a second. No toast. My hash browns was undercooked. We stayed at hotel attached to the Denny's. We were starving after a long drive . We were greeted and seated immediately very quiet at 3 in the afternoon. The food was ordered and on the table quickly . We had breakfast next day before heading out to finish our trip and had another pleasant experience. Well, we returned here because my daughter requested it. The things we do for love. Absolutely never again. Same restaurant as last year, same crappy service. Our waitress ended every sentence with "baby". I couldn't have the healthy fit omelet on the menu because "we are out of tomatoes, baby." All righty . . . They were out of something else too. So we ordered my son a grilled cheese sandwich. Don't you know, it comes with tomatoes. Who has ever heard of such a thing? Granted, they were slices of tomatoes, not diced tomatoes like the omelet would have had. I guess they don't have a knife in the kitchen. Service was horrible. Food took forever. After standing in-line for 10 mins watching the hostess read off the menu over the phone, we finnally sat ourselves, she gets off the phone and 5 seatings later, no apologies, no menus. Only after Ammy, one of the servers saw that we were not being helped and took the initiative did we get service (Which was great). This Denny's is inside the Holiday Inn of Exit 22 in Lumberton. Not much different than any other Denny's. Food is decent and is served rather quickly (especially at 5 am when the place is empty). Ordered an All-American slam, which consists of 3 scrambled eggs with cheese, bacon, sausage and hash browns. Standard breakfast. Service was good. Place was clean. Food was hot when we finally got it, but that's because it had been sitting under a heat lamp for a long time. The "cheese" on my skillet had melted completely off the food and pooled underneath where it turned into a thin crispy crust on the bottom of the skillet. The pancakes were rubbery, exactly like they had been frozen then heated up in a microwave. They were tough enough that they could not be cut with a fork like usual. Just traveling through NC, we stopped for the night, rather late, at the Holiday inn. Denny's restaurant is within the Inn. Our waitress, Mikayla, was friendly and brought us both our much appreciated dinner and drinks....drinks from the bar. Food and service were terrific. Food is open 24 hours a day.
