It's okay, their philly steak cheese sandwiches are great! But the services there are not so great. The manager is a cheapskate when it comes to getting napkins. They tell their waitress to only give the customer one napkin. That's not good. this place was delicious. We went at around 4pm, and the coffee was fresh and hot, and our meals were fast and very good. Waitress was sweet and helpful, I think her name was Mikayla. Kids were full, mother was satisfied, and that rarely happens, lol. Made a hectic trip fleeing from Hurricane Irma a much more pleasant time. read more

We waited for an hour and 15 mins for our food. They forgot about us and 30 mins into it we started asking about our order. Waitress relayed there were several large groups ahead of you, it'll be right out, another 5 mins, another 10 mins. We considered leaving several times but figured we would have to wait again. We stop here every Sunday. Today they were extremely busy and under staffed. We had to wait in line 20 minutes while they play 'let's not overload the kitchen game'. There were plenty of tables open in the restaurant. I'm going have to find another regular place for Sunday breakfast. read more

Went here for dessert and then breakfast while staying at the hotel attached. Both times servers were friendly, quick and the food was good. Yes, Denny's is a chain, but when you are passing through or in a hurry this place would work great. Plenty on the plates! read more

Stopped for dinner on our drive back from South Carolina to New York, place was empty, we were seated quickly, only reason for 1 star was the waitress was some what kind! The food was terrible, waste of 20 bucks, you get what ya pay for! Chicken sandwich had a funny taste to it, as well as country fried steak, food quality is very low, will not visit Denny's for dinner ever again! Don't go! This is the worst places ever. I rather go across the street to Waffle House. They serve you better. They took a long time to bring us our drink. They brought the receipt faster than they brought everything else. They deserve no stars read more

Service is excellent here at the Lumberton Denny's. I like that the food is the same at any Denny's you go to.

Food was great, however the server I received was horrible. She never acknowledged us and only came to the table 4 times, once to get the drink order, food order, drop the food off, and drop the check off. She was blatant in her rudeness towards us. The manager and other server(who cashed us out) were very nice however, such a shame. Would have been nice if she had asked the other server to take our table if serving us was such an issue. read more

We stopped for a late night (around 10pm) dinner at Denny's in Lumberton on Saturday, July 23. We were seated quickly, and had our menus and drinks almost right away. Three of our four-member party ordered the new and improved buttermilk pancakes, while I opted for the biscuits and gravy (which, for some odd reason, is NOT on the menu). Our food was delivered a bit later, and dropped off quickly. The waiter who brought it (not our original server) handed out the plates and left so fast we didn't even have time to mention that we had no silverware, there was no butter for the pancakes, and our drinks needed refilling. No one stopped by to see if everything was acceptable, and when we were finally able to flag someone down, we received the silverware, drinks (without ice) and NO butter. By the time we were able to find someone to bring butter for the one person who really wanted it, everyone else was almost done eating. The pancake eaters said that the advertised-as-fluffier buttermilk pancakes were good, and possibly a bit "fluffier" than the original version. I thought that the biscuits and gravy entree was quite tasty, as always. Despite the poor service, we took a chance and ordered dessert...BIG mistake. The child in our party wanted the special milkshake advertised on the children's menu, but was told that they were using old menus (apparently from the Christmas season) and that some of the items were no longer available (including, of course, what he wanted to order). He chose something else instead, but was very disappointed. We also ordered the family-sized sundae, which was billed as four scoops of ice cream with caramel sauce, nuts, and whipped cream, on a bed of hot fudge. The sundae was delivered without any hot fudge at all. Once again, we had to track down a server for help. Eventually, once we were half-finished with the dessert, someone brought us a small dish of regular chocolate syrup. This is NOT in any way the same as a sundae served on a bed of hot fudge. I was quite surprised that the manager did not intervene and offer to make it right by bringing us a new, properly-prepared sundae. By that point, however, we were too tired to bother. At no point in our visit did anyone actually apologize for the poor service. Our primary server mentioned that they were "swamped", although the restaurant did not look very crowded. Of course, perhaps even that small a number of diners was more than is typical for 10pm on a Saturday. Still, swamped or not, the service should have been better. Knowing that there was an issue of too many customers/too few staff, a manager should have been making the rounds to insure that everyone was satisfied, and taken steps to make things right whenever possible. I left with the impression that nobody at the location actually cared about the poor service. Obviously nobody cared that the staff was forced to use outdated menus with offerings that were no longer available. Overall, very disappointing. Denny's itself is an okay restaurant, but this location was a great place to have a meal. My family and I stopped here for dinner during a long road trip, and the service was some of the best service I've ever experienced. The waitstaff was open and friendly, even at 9:00 at night, and the food was good and came quickly. If you are passing through or live in the area, I think it's definitely worth coming here for a good meal served with a smile. read more
