I've been to other locations & it's always been good for food & service. I ordered online for pickup. It should've been ready at the time promised. When I went in to the restaurant, it took a while for someone to acknowledge me. I was told that pickup for online was at the bar area. No one was at the bar. I waited for longer than I should (at least 10 mins) have before someone came out with my order. This was Strike #1 for the bad, indifferent service. I brought my food back to my room. Strike #2 - They didn't have the courtesy to provide utensils despite the request on my online order. Strike #3 - my chopped steak under the melted cheese & mushrooms was raw. I ordered medium rare but this was clearly raw...bright red, bloody & very cold in the middle. Do yourself a favor & look for another place to dine. read more

I was in Lumberton for a tough few days and needed a drink and a snack before heading to where I was headed next. It had already been a long day and it was only the middle of the day... I read the bad reviews, but this place was close to where I was staying and I always like to give a place the benefit of the doubt... So, I walked in and sat at the bar, looked around and the place was clean, cozy, with a relaxed atmosphere. Someone made their way right over to greet me. I ordered a drink and she offered me some rolls. The drink was well made and the rolls were warm and delicious. Off to a great start! I opted for the fried pickles, I wasn't hungry, but knew I had to eat something... The fried pickles were served piping hot and super crispy! They had an interesting breading that was crisp and not too thick as to overwhelm the pickles. They also weren't suuuuper greasy, which is always a plus! Then, I had another drink and started a conversation with the bartender and later the nice gentleman that was a regular, that took a seat near me. These were some of the nicest people I've met in my life. They listened, they were kind, and offered kind words when I needed them the most. This isn't a place that's "fancy" and you expect filet mignon and champagne. This is the place you come to when you want to fill your belly with good food, have a stout drink or a cold beer and hear a kind word from a server or a stranger. If you read any of my other posts, you will see I am going to give my very honest review- the good, the bad and even the ehhh so-so! I was in Lumberton to take care of some business and am staying the weekend. I needed somewhere for my husband and I to eat so I pulled up the different restaurants in close proximity to our hotel. This restaurant received so many recent negative/bad reviews to where honestly, I should have not dined here just based on others experiences. I'm so glad I march to the best of my own drum and am the deciding factor on what is good, bad or just ehh so-so. Don't get me wrong, as much as I am willing to give fellow reviews "the benefit of the doubt," there are some instances where I need to see for myself. Venue- it does look a little dated and could use some sprucing up but it wasn't enough to turn me away. Service- We were greeted by smiles of three individuals one of whom was the manager who I didn't know was the manager. Our server, Brianna was shy but extremely pleasant, friendly and attentive. There was an average amount of patrons who were all eating or finishing up and it didn't take long for anything we ordered to come out. Food- The rolls were nice and warm, ceasar salads were tasty but the medium- well steak came out super well done. This was immediately corrected and the woman who I didn't know was the manager (Danielle) came over to apologize for the steak not being to our liking and to advise that a new one would be on its way out, which it did. Overall- Upon leaving, I noticed a wall full of pictures of military service personnel. Me being a veteran of the United States Air Force, smiled to see this wall. Texas Steakhouse, I can't change the past reviews you've received but I hope this one I posted will encourage others to patronize your restaurant. Sometimes it takes minor tweaks to turn things around- management, staffing, quality of food, etc. , We can't please everyone...one customer at a time! I'll visit again. The service was prompt. We were greeted, seated and served within just a few minutes. Our server, Sequoia, stopped by, and introduced herself promising to be right back for our drink order, offered water without us needing to ask. She was knowledgeable about the bar service, and took our order too. Our bread and salad came out with our drinks. Being bariatric patients, we shared a meal. Sequoia didn't bat an eye, just took our order with a smile, and made sure we had an extra plate. She was very attentive, but not intrusive. She seemed to know our next need. I am giving a good for my review for one reason and that is the bartender Jae! She was extremely friendly, quick at service, and personable. If this were just based on the food, my review would be different. I sat at the bar as to enjoy an evening to relax to myself. Jae greeted me immediately and got my order right away. I inquired about the fried pickle appetizer and she absolutely recommended it. I waited a few minutes and then ordered a filet mignon with mashed potatoes and salad. Here is where things went alittle askew. My salad came out before my appetizer(which is fine) but my appetizer, which was fried pickles, took 35 mins and came out 5 minutes before my entree. I ordered the filet medium rare and came out black and blue with absolutely no sear marks. You expect from a steakhouse that they would have grill marks, a nice sear on a 30 dollar steak. I sent it back, which Jae was wonderful and apologized profusley for the issue, and it came back medium, which of course I ate but still not at the correct temp. I understand mistakes happen but I can say I will return to give them another try because of Jae. A side note as well, the outside of the building is very depressing and seriously needs an upgrade as I have never been here the 3 years living in Lumberton wondering what kind of establishment this is and if they were closed. read more

The food toom a little longer than expected but I guess since we have 7 people it should have been expected. I think it was just us and one other table . Overall the experience was just alright nothing to rave about. The food that I got, salad and potato soup were basic. The soup was like reheated Campbell's. In looking at others food it looked ok. Burnt mushrooms, cold food and steak was not cooked to order. Kids meal came out and it was boiled noodles and a little cheese on top. We asked for a plastic fork or spoon and never received it after the entire time of waiting while Brandon walked around bribing guest to give a 5 star review. Completely unacceptable! I was told why the MANAGER Brandon forgot about fork is because he was running around and got busy. Sever acted like she was CLUELESS AND DIDNT CARE. Not once was a apology received or even a good explanation only deflected and gave excuses for all the nonsense. While my dinner party was still polite and respectful. I looked at the reviews and see plenty of reviews with 5 stars literally a hour before I'm posting this, which meant he accomplished his goal of getting better rating while he has very unsatisfied guest. Shows how much pleasing and making things correct with the guest mattered to him. I also observed plenty of people returning the meals they ordered due to unsatisfactory or just disappointment. CRAZY HOW A 5 dollar off deal can make people not tell the truth and be honest about the experience. I will NEVER recommend this establishment to anyone. I cannot believe this steak food chain could be so bad. There was prob three families in there at 5pm. That's not even normal. This town must have known more than us passer-throughs. The manager held the servers knowing we were waiting for drinks and service. I think he was giving a pep talk or something. The food...I can't even make it sound half way decent. The top ribeye steak called the Marshall Dillon Ribeye on the menu seemed like it had been through a dehydrator and was flat as a pancake and dry. I've had many ribeyes in my life and this was not one of them. Tasted more like a butt steak or leather boot. It was terrible. My husband's chicken was flat and dry. The mashed potatoes were cold and the free bread had no substance. A major disappointment and we will never come back here again. I feel the server had listened well to the pep talk and that the manager might have said "even though things are bad here we need to make sure we still give exceptional service." Even though she did not bring the lemon in our water and brought us a pen that didn't work to sign the check and the manager told her it would be 120 second pep talk and it was way longer than that for her to come back with our drinks!!
