Worse experience ever ! We came in last Wednesday we waited almost 20 minutes other customers were complaining and we noticed that they were running around trying to keep up so we decided to leave and go somewhere else. We've always enjoyed Dennys breakfast, so even though our last 2 or 3 visits were disappointing we decided to try again. Service was good but we got cold coffee and no waters like we asked. Then the food comes to the table, slightly warm at best. Our sausage and bacon were cold. Eggs and pancakes were room temperature. Needless to say we barely ate anything. We tipped the waitress well, (cause let's face it this is not her issue.) Then when we were leaving we went up front to pay,, nobody there. Things started off rough here when they first opened. The new manager, Donna, has really got things in order. The staff are all friendly, smiling and attentive. This place is unbelievable! I know it's Fathers Day, but these folks can't work. Three tables have left because they have been waiting over an hour for food. I'm up next to leave no food. PLEASE READ THIS ENTIRE REVIEW. You won't regret it! I had read some of the negative reviews posted on Yelp regarding service and food quality at this Dennys and they influenced our decision not to go there for their Thanksgiving meal. So we ate our midday Thanksgiving meal somewhere else. However, later tonight we got peckish and everything else in Maricopa was closed except the restaurants at AK-Chin. I decided to go in and give Dennys a try in spite of the prior reviews, and man am I GLAD we did!! We were greeted promptly and seated right away. The restaurant was moderately busy but our waitress (Rose) showed up almost immediately to take our beverage order. My soda arrived in a very timely manner and even though my wife brought her own bottled water, she received a glass with ice in it also. Very thoughtful of our conscientious server. She asked us if we knew what we wanted to order or if we needed more time. And then she asked if we had any questions. We said there were no questions, but that we would need a minute or two to decide. Our efficient waitress returned after a near-perfect interval, just as we had made up our minds what to order. My wife selected the spicy nachos and I ordered the double cheeseburger, no onions, no pickle but with mayonnaise. So far, so good! But...how long would we be made to wait? Well, it turns out, NOT LONG AT ALL! Our meals arrived in a totally appropriate amount of time, piping hot and perfectly prepared and presented. I kept waiting for something to go wrong and - guess what? - nothing went wrong. Everything went perfectly! The food tasted GREAT and our server followed up with us to be sure everything was alright and to refill my Diet Coke. This was as close to a PERFECT dining experience as one can have. To top things off, the temperature in the restaurant was perfect - not too cool, not too warm, and this is the CLEANEST Dennys I have eaten at in over a year. We were visiting from Phoenix and have dined in several Denny's all around the valley over the years. The service, quality of food, temperature of the food when served, and the cleanliness of the restaurant, the friendliness and efficiency of the staff at the Maricopa location exceeds them all, hands down! All our prior Dennys experiences in the Phoenix area can't come close to the wonderful time we had this evening. Also an honorable mention is due the sweet and polite receptionist/cashier. She engaged us in conversation while I was paying the bill, welcomed us to Maricopa and thanked us for eating at Dennys. I highly recommend this eating establishment!!! read more

I got there a little later than the time it said, and the man said they were "packing it up", 20 minutes later I was still waiting. For the very first time ever, my wife and I got up and walked out of a restaurant after being served our drinks. We were there from breakfast on Monday, May 10, and came into the restaurant at about 9:30 AM. We walked out at 10:10 after being served coffee twice. The server got to us rather quickly and was attentive but our meals didn't come. My wife had an appointment at 11 AM and we couldn't wait. This isn't the first time we have had slow service at Denny's here in Maricopa but we needed to get to our appointment and shouldn't have had to wait over a half hour for a simple breakfast, most of which should have already been pre-made. If you Denny's can't afford to keep enough personnel on staff to serve people in a reasonable amount of time, they should close the business and let everyone go to IHOP instead. read more

I came here to have lunch. I ordered hot chocolate and it was watery. I changed it to coffee and got a cold cup. The server was nice and made a fresh batch. I waited 45 minutes for my food. I ordered chicken fried chicken. The chicken and gravy was cold and burnt. I ordered a side of hash browns and they were very oily, not to mention they scraped up old hash browns and put them together on my plate. As we were sat at our table we noticed we weren't being helped or even asked for our drinks, which I also noticed people that came after us were being helped before us. I am so excited that they brought a Denny's to the Copa! I know we have sit down restaurants but none that have comfort food for every meal of the day! The service was a bit slow at first, waited about 10 minutes after we sat before we were greeted by someone (this should never be, even if it's not your table, a server should greet and say someone will be right with you) but once David came, he was wonderful! Very attentive and kind. We ordered the prime rib Cobb salad and chicken fried steak, everything was delicious! The layout of the place is awful, bathrooms are way too small and they need new menus because my husband tried ordering a few things that they no longer had, but the most important thing is the food and service so we can ignore all the bad and will definitely be back!! read more

We made a joke about it, but I instantly considered that unprofessional. He continued with non-relevant conversation, till I mentioned we were two to eat here. He followed up with telling me there were two things we should know. 1, they were serving slow that night. Not sure why he would say that to any cistomer. I really didn't understand it then, because there weren't many people there. 2, The people who were outside smoking were before us and we'd have to wait for them to come in and be seated, then we could be seated. When I mentioned I would rather not wait and we would go somewhere else, he seemed excited and grateful. My observation of the attendant was that he seemed under the influence of something. I find this doesn't hold well for the Denny's quality of service I tend to expect. Do Not!!! I repeat!!! Do Not!! Go to this Denny's. I placed an Online order that was supposed to be ready at 9:29 am. Surprise!!! It wasn't. I waited a half hour and still not ready. They could not tell me when it would be ready or where in the rotation my order was. I ask to cancel and refund my money . I was told that the District Manager said "No refunds". Yikes. Even by Denny's standards this was a nightmare. A Monday evening, a few minutes before 6pm. My wife ordered a skillet, I ordered the new boneless chicken wings. I liked the picture in the menu. After 40 minutes, we inquired where our orders were. "We had to send staff home and we're down to one cook", was the reply. When the meals arrived, the skillet was OK, my chicken wings were a different story. "Don't these come with celery?" "We're out. " "The sauce I ordered?" "I'll check on it.
