The food was great, and there was even a clearly-marked plant-based pancake option for breakfast. The coffee is delicious and they keep it coming. What made our visit especially nice was the service: I wish I knew our server's name, but she was so friendly and so attentive that she elevated our breakfast experience. The best steak my friends have ever had at a Dennys, we substituted fruit for toast it included: fresh strawberries, bananas and grapes...no cheap honeydew or melon. We were exhausted. I just flew in from Honolulu, and joined my Hubby for work in Mojave. This Denny's was the only thing open. The burger and fries were good. The service was the best we have had at a restaurant in many years! Lea was our server, and we just loved her positive attitude. She came across sincere and caring. Was on top everything. You know... like service used to be! Back in the day. We really enjoyed talking to her. I found that the inside, and especially the outside are kept way too dark. I'm assuming it's to save money. I saw several individuals come into the place to only use the restroom. Although the sign on the door clearly states they are for patrons only. I now understand the need for that sign. Good Breakfast, Good Service Memorial Day and we were scheduled to drive back home. We wanted to stop for a hot meal and found a restaurant in Mojave. Unfortunately, due to the holiday it was closed. We ended up here at a Denny's. Parking was behind the building and entrance is facing Mono Street so you have a little bit of a walk to get inside. Just a little different architectural design I guess. The restaurant was busy but there was no wait and we got seated in a booth right away. I ordered a Super Slam with all bacon and hubby got the Everyday Value Slam. Everything was good and delicious. Food came fast which was nice so we can get on the road quicker. Our server was great. This is the Denny's we choose to eat at instead of the one where I live. This one is cleaner, employees are nicer and food taste better. I have never had a bad meal at this location. The only negative is it smells like sewer towards the bathroom area. It has for 20 years I have been eating here. Bathrooms are clean they have something going on with the pipes. Not quite sure why this has not been taken care of. I won't sit near the restrooms. Today my son got his free grand slam for his birthday. He enjoyed it. It was a little busy this afternoon. The food took about 40 minutes to come out. Besides that our food was great. I ordered the Berry Vanilla Crepe Breakfast and I got the Everything hash browns instead of regular hash browns and turkey bacon. The everything hash browns were amazing! I didn't even know Denny's had this option on the menu. Hash browns with onions and cheese!!! Plus country gravy on top!!!! Yum! I will definitely order those every time I go. Denny's Amateur Hour. Nice slow afternoon, 1:30. Girlfriend told me what to order for her and went to restroom. Two waitresses stood talking to each other instead of waiting on customers or taking our order. After girlfriend returned waitress finally came for order. I used the men's room and it was nasty! One urinal covered with plastic and the other one was clogged up and not draining when flushed. We went to a state park afterwards with pit toilets and it smelled no worse than Denny's! They offered a great deal on the menu for onion rings - "upgrade for 99 cents." But they charged us $7.99 instead. I had to bring the menu up to the hostess cause I didn't want to wait another 10 minutes to catch the waitress's eye and point out the difference to her. I get it. It's a small town without many other choices so they give minimal service and overcharge eight times what the menu says the charge will be. But there are many other places for me to eat in other towns on the way there, which I will do from now on since I now know what a pit this one is. read more

I want to commend Nayeli. After driving from Reno and having to stop in Mojave I wasn't looking forward to much from a Denny's in the middle of the desert. After walking about half a mile down the road, I'll be honest at one point at the restaurant I didn't want to walk back especially after seeing coyotes, but what's a goon to a goblin? Nothing nothing lol But back to Nayeli. My sense of admiration for her is astronomical. I commend people that excel in what they do and therefore she needs to be recognized. I came in schlobby and looking broke, but her genuine nice attitude and her ability to forge a smile made my day. As a trucker we tend to not see many folks face to face and when we do it ain't smiles haha Throughout the course of my meal she was attentive and nice. Wish I would've chit chatted more but alas I'm an introvert and suffer from social anxiety . But anyways, she and her fellow crew members served up good food, and great service. First, the good things. The staff and food quality are awesome! The wife and I have been enjoying eating there for the last 20+ years. The problem is that whoever owns that restaurant has not been maintaining the building properly. One of the urinals in the men's room has been out of order for years. The other urinal has a sign saying "Flush only once!" or it will overflow! Several chairs have broken and a large circular table has loose hardware that will spill your filled drink from wobbling! Also, one of the two front doors has been broken for over a year, swinging freely in the wind. It's a disgrace that these problems haven't been fixed. read more

It was pretty empty for being the holiday. Got seated and served right away. The server and staff that evening were wonderful! Our server, a young woman, was ever so efficient, friendly and even complimented me on my Santa cap - whereas everywhere else I went, they were looking at me like a bunch of "Bah Humbug" Scrooge's (yeah I get the PC times, but what happened to back in the old days when you could be yourself and say what you felt and not having to use the disclaimer of "Happy Holidays"? Well I'll probably get a bunch of spears thrown at me for bringing it up, again I'm mentioning what use to be back in the 1980's, I know the "do's & don't s of today's world sadly :( It felt wonderful to eat at this particular Denny's on Christmas Eve wearing my red Santa cappy! Wait was considerably better that last time, food, drinks, refills, napkins, and silverware all came out in the perfect order. By far, this has become my favorite restaurant establishment in the area. Management here practices excellence in service, and it shows. Service here was terrible! My wife and I came here for breakfast. She received her food and mine came ten mins later. I asked for my food to be well done and food came out cold and kissing the sides I asked for. Spoke to manger frank who asked kitchen to make my fries well done. Ten mins later the fries were out, at this point my wife is pretty much done with her food and my sandwich is cold. I spoke to frank (the manager) and he basically told me that it did my take ten mins for the fries to come out. He didn't apologize for the inconvenience whatsoever. He said so what do you want to do!? You want the 800 number. Didn't offer to comp either meal! Definitely wouldn't return back to this location. Poor customer service and I really don't see how frank is a manage TV with no customer service skills! We had two little boys who were needing the potti like nobody's business but were told "only for paying customers." We had made quite a drive, they were in dire need, so we ordered a to go order then they allowed the boys access so as not to wet themselves. No one around, no one else in there, but "rules are rules" to those without any heart. $25 to use the bathroom. That's fair--from one perspective. But from my viewpoint, we would have eaten there and probably spent a hundred or more. So, the bottom line is, we paid 25 for a take out we didn't eat and will never be back in that Denny's as long as we live. As a side, boys being boys, we barely made it a few minutes down the freeway and once again, one really had to go--again, and so we found a McDonald's--which is a class operation, he barely made it, but did make it do to class--which the Denny's did not have. My experience at this location has been awesome until my last visit. I grew up in Mojave so I stop to eat here whenever I am in town. I will say the service by the waitress was very good however my son wanted a double burger and got a single I ordered a sandwich the bread was burnt so bad it was bitter and the restrooms were nasty you could smell the urine before you entered. When I mentioned my concerns I was told "oh well have a good day" You would think that a $80.00 bill would get a somewhat different reply. From now on I will bypass this location. read more
