This Denny's is the only one I've been to that I like. The service is good considering how busy they get and the menu has gotten a lot better than it used to be. I like that the server asked if I wanted to add spinach to my eggs and onions to my hash-browns. Those little extras make a difference and you don't think to ask sometimes. This Dennys has good "Dennys food" but the service tonight was horrible. We never got our refills, we never got ranch we requested and we ordered the blueberry pancake bites as soon as she came to our table....she didn't bring them till we were getting ready to leave!!! Horrible service!! The manager is really sweet, but she need more qualified servers!!! From being an assistant manager and managers at restaurants....I guess I notice how bad this girls service was. I had a little confrontation with one of the waitresses here by the name of Molly. I'm not gonna get too much into it because I believe after speaking with the very helpful manager that she understood what she did was wrong. I will definitely take the managers advise hopefully by returning. I did say that I wouldn't return after the incident but I am going to leave that out of this comment because it was very disrespectful to me as a paying customer. I'm very glad that the manager was so level minded and very helpful in understanding that is exactly the way one should handle customer complaints. I never really had a problem coming here out of the many times I have however this night so happen to be one of those nights. I'm going to leave it at that and with that being said I hope next time I come in the waitresses and waiters will be filled with enthusiasm and great positive attitudes. I hope nobody has to go through what I went through that night it still has nothing to do with the quality of food if I might add. So I would recommend the spot still. My Oatmeal was pretty good except for the waitress not notifying me that a half banana and 8 blueberries were an additional $1 each. But hey, can't complain since the service was excellent. Normally I have nothing to say but nice things about this denny' s, but tonight it was the worst. We waited for our server for a good ten minutes.... then ordered our drinks but didn't get those for another ten minutes. We ordered and then waited and waited finally we see our food up from the kitchen ..... we then waited, a manager saw it sitting in the window , other waitresses saw it sitting , but no one would bring it to us... after a good 8 to 10 minutes our server bought it... we told her it had been sitting in the window for ten minutes and she said sorry and left the plates.... never came back..... never brought refills or the check... the table behind us never got their drinks until they were finished with their meal... while paying the manager said the waitress was new, if so, why wasn't she helping her???? I got a slandered cinnamon pancake breakfast at Denny's and supposedly it come with three eggs hash, hash brown and two bacon strips. This is the saddest meal I have ever had. This is why I prefer IHOP. This service here was really bad and slow. read more

Probably the worst service I have ever received. My son received his drink in a cup that was not washed. Still had food residue and milk residue all over the cup. Clearly the person who made the drink did not look at the cup before pouring the drink. Thank you Jaime for fixing this problem. Getting water and coffee refills only happened when I waved my hand to get our servers attention as she rarely came over to see how we were doing. When our food came out, she stacked the plates on top of eachother on top of the food. There was grits from my wifes breakfast on the bottom of my plate. Our server stood there holding my sons plate expecting him to grab the plate from her. He is 10. Our server was Taylor. Horrible. So I had friends visiting and they wanted to go to Dennys, which I don't usually ever go because most Dennys are gross. Well low and behold the idiots were just as DISGUSTING as other ones. After picking up our to go order, we discovered that 3 of the items we'd ordered weren't included -- no Oreo shake, no BBQ sauce and no avocado on the "chicken and avocado" salad. When I called to let Denny's know about the missing items, the night manager said that she was the one who put our order together and she didn't know we'd ordered these items. However, they were listed on our receipt. She also told me to call back tomorrow to speak with the general manager. Came here around two for a late breakfast and as usual the food was great and the coffee delicious. However, the Assistant Manager asked if we minded if they cleaned the floor and assured us they would not use Pine Sol but we asked if they could wait until we left as we were in the middle of our meal. They went ahead and mopped the middle half of the dining room with Pine Sol. It was not pleasant nor appetizing to eat our meal with the wait staff mopping near us and smelling the strong odor of Pine Sol. Perhaps the dining room should have been closed if they intended to clean it. Will probably go to a different Denny's now. read more

Late night madness! Fast food and fun. This place on a Friday or Saturday night at midnight or one is just packed. There is usually a wait and customers galore. Fun night time energy here. My family has been coming to this Denny's for 17 years now. We live around the corner, so it's convenient for inexpensive consistent family meals. Their grilled chicken, grits, ranch dressing, salads, chicken tenders, nachos, cheese sticks and scrambled eggs are family favorites. We have always had top notch service here-from Dennis to our newest server Chris. Its not gourmet food, but we aren't going there expecting that. I was in San Diego with my best friend to surprise my daughter who flew in to see her boyfriend and we stopped at this Denny's on Nov 2. The worst service ever, seriously. We will never come back, and I highly recommend anywhere else for breakfast. Eggs were cold, hash browns done the exact way we did not want them done, asked for syrup, never got it. Asked to speak with manager and server proceeded to talk to the manager about another employee, other customers were helped more than we were. When a general manager complains about one employee to another employee and loud enough for customers to hear, it's inappropriate, and unprofessional, cussing repeatedly, what if I had a small child, or what if them cussing profusely makes us uncomfortable, it shouldn't matter, while you are in uniform, you represent your employee, you are supposed to act professionally and set an example for your employees, but this morning was not the case. Both of us had to stop eating because we started feeling sick to our stomachs, I rate this place ZERO STARS. Ordered takeout via phone a few days ago, and got the chicken-fried steak breakfast meal with scrambled eggs, hashbrowns, and wheat toast. They told me that it would be ready in about 15 minutes, and so I high-tailed it there. When I arrived at the restaurant, the meal was ready, packaged, and bagged. Included with the order were some napkins, ketchup packets, and jelly cups. First thing I noticed about the packaging was the vented lids, and how they separated the steak from the rest of the meal by putting a perfectly-fitted plate on top of the deep-dish serving tray. How awesome is that?! Well, I paid about $11 for the whole lot and left. It was a bit pricey I know, but the food was spot on and I gained food coma from trying to finish the entire huge portion. Needless to say, I will return and I definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for good diner grub. Oh yeah, service was pretty good as well. read more

I was shocked to find out that this Denny's does not serve the full menu all day. My favorite is bacon and grits. I tried to order grits with my dinner and was told that they do not serve the full menu at the dinner hour. I think this is a sign of poor management. So disappointed while at the restaurant we received attitude from not only the waitress but also the manager. There was a mix up in our order instead of notifying us they bring us the wrong plate and then continue giving us attitude because the item was no longer on the menu. Denny's. The name evokes visions of late-night drunken food binges and piles of carb-laden Slam-droppings. It is what it is, but there are certainly good and bad Denny's franchises. This Denny's is pretty good. I allowed my family to drag me here last weekend, and I was prepared for the worst. I was happily surprised to be seated quickly and have my order taken politely and efficiently by 'Estaban'. He was an excellent server, and the meal came out as ordered and in record time. Our drinks were refilled and several different people came around to check on how our meals were going and if they could bring us anything else. The restaurant was clean and the bathrooms were clean as well. (Nice surprise!) The food was fine: hot, relatively tasty, and fattening, just like you'd expect from a breakfast at Denny's. I'm not going to go into our meals, because you all KNOW what is on the menu at Denny's. It's not gourmet. I am guessing that with the tough economy, most marginal eateries are having to really shake up their serving staff and improve their customer service. There are 2.4 million average places to eat and only good service will encourage the masses to spend their money there, as opposed to a cheap fast-food joint. This Denny's, on College, did a good job and I was pleased with the results. I would eat there again if pressed. It is what it is, but for a Denny's, it was A-OK. read more

I came here with 3 other friends at 2 am the other day. There were 3 servers and they told us we had to wait while they cleared a table. We didn't understand why because when we peered in the room there was only one other couple in the entire restaurant. They finally lead us to a table in the back and as we walked through all the tables were full of dirty dishes and piles of food. It took 15 minutes just for us to get drinks which were served in dirty glasses. The server was also very slow to take our order. When we finally got meals, they were missing elements that were part of the meal, one friend's food was cold, and my food made me sick. We were there for probably about three hours in total which seems outrageous because I have been to at least 15 other Denny's in Southern California and never had to deal with a wait like this. They took forever to get us a bill. Needless to say we did not tip and we will not be coming back. Not only was this the dirtiest Denny's I've ever been to, it may as well been the dirtiest food place I have ever eaten at. read more

Pretty sure I understand why this place has such a terrible star rating. I ordered food over the phone to go. Problem number one, the girl taking the phone order was constantly taking to someone else and laughing the entire time. It was difficult to even get her attention to tell her what I wanted to order. At one point I paused - let her have her conversation, asked if she was still there, to which she rudely replied "yeah I'm waiting for you to tell me what you want for the drinks." Okay... get the ordered straightened out, she asked for my name and 10-15 minutes the order would be ready, no problem. Then I get there to pickup. Big shocker, they can't find my order in the system. The lady that helped me at the counter was totally lost, looking through all the orders naming off the items - none are mine. I thought maybe I'd called the wrong Denny's, nope. So she goes to the back and is told by the girl, I'm assuming, who took my order on the phone, that the order is under a completely different name. Uh huh, so why give you my name, then? Fine - she gets my food. Some other guy comes over to take payment, asks if I need utensils. I say "yeah sure" and he goes "oh cause we don't have any". Why would you ask then?! I get handed my food, and they forget the drinks. So I had to request those. Got them. Thank God, cause I'm never coming here again. read more

Disgusting service. Eating dinner with my sister and friend when seated by the lady with short flipped hair asked for beverages. Her attitude was horrible, got our drink to us while slamming them down. Our waitress Mexican girl with black and white flannel took our order in a rush brought our food, never checked on us. We had to bother HER for for refills and the check and a box. No tip. Terrible service and not even a thank you for coming in.
