I'm not the type to be picky about food, but the meal I just got from this place was one of the worst meals I've ever had in my life. I ordered (online) grilled salmon with mashed potatoes and veggies, but literally the salmon was so tough and flavorless. My veggies were mushy and whoever packaged my food just threw the veggies all messy into the gravy on my potatoes. It was disgusting and I literally had to force it down since I didn't want to waste the money I already spent on it. I get that seafood in this area isn't the best, but that salmon was just wrong. Not my favorite place to go. But, there's really isn't a choice when it comes to a restaurant in Porterville. Usually order by phone and they always tell me it'll be ready in 20mins but it always takes an hour!!! And lots of times they always forget some of my order. When you think of Denny's you think of a great environment where you can relax and enjoy your time with family. You think of great customer service, delicious food, a clean restaurant, and clean restrooms. This was not one of these Denny's! This restaurant was dirty, the waitresses weren't attentive and did not listen to our order. The wait time was long which I get it's a Denny's but 2 hours for four people is crazy especially when there's only two other tables being served in the entire restaurant. When the food came out my burger was made with onions which I hate and can't eat, I sent it back and all they did was pick them off. My burger was soggy and it was falling apart. I paid $60 for my whole family and this was not worth it. This wasn't the first bad experience with this Denny's. Do not go here! read more

Placed an order online for a Curbside pickup. Got my food and went on a 30 minute drive back home and once I got there I noticed I didn't even get half of my food. I ordered a lumberjack slam and only received the eggs, hash browns, and pancakes. As I'm writing this review I'm sitting in their parking lot waiting for the rest of my items. The worker told me that my food would be 15 minutes when I went to go pick it up and we waited close to an hour for it. There were 4 people to enter Denny's after me and they got their orders before. The service has never really been great here but today was by far the worst service we've ever had here. They took so long to help us. She never really checked up on us and we had to ask them to remove our appetizer plates because they didn't take them once we received our food and they saw we were struggling to fit everything on the table. Before Covid, I liked Denny's a lot so recently y friends and I went to the one on Henderson in Porterville and the food was terrible. Everything that we got was bad. The mozzarella sticks were barely heated up and the rest of the food tastes horrible. One friend got a burger and another got nachos. I would't go back anytime soon. read more

The food was decent, pretty much what you'd expect from Dennys. However the service was atrocious. The waitress hardly ever came by our table. I wouldn't have minded if the restaurant had been packed but it was nearly empty that night we went. We ordered the all you can eat pancakes, which turned out to be a waste of money because the waitress never came by to ask us if we wanted more. We went up to the counter to ask one of the staff for more and it took a very long time for us to get the new order. I guess that's how they make their money on the all you can eat pancakes, by not bringing any and hoping the customers leave. My Honey and I have been very disappointed in this Denny's (on Henderson)for about 3 months. We usually have breakfast there every Saturday morning with no complaints but lately we have been disappointed in their service. The food has been mediocre (cold or eggs runny which I can't tolerate), service poor (no coffee offered when we are seated, or ignored... Yesterday (Father's Day) we decided to have dinner there...we were shown to a table by the Hostess within a few minutes of arriving. We waited for 10 minutes before we decided to leave. The waitress never came to take our drink order or our dinner order. We were totally ignored( a couple of the employees were just standing around and gabbing.... and the problem was....They didn't have that many patrons at that time! The only bright side is when Yessi, the young lady that waits on us when she is there on Saturday mornings. She is always cheerful, happy, energetic even tho she is super busy. She makes sure we are happy when we leave. We will only go there if we see her car parked in their lot now cuz we know we will get great service.. Denny's is usually a great place to go but the employees on Henderson are giving Denny's a bad name. We decided to go to the Denny's on Hiway 190 after our Father's Day experience where we got great fast friendly service..plus the food was hot and delicious!! read more

This place is just a disappointment EVERY single time I go. For the most part I give restaurants the benefit of the doubt because every place has bad days. But my goodness things never get better. The inside feels like there isn't any air conditioning and the place is alway a mess!! The reason for my review is because a group of us recently placed an online order for over $140. Easy items such as burgers, side salads, grand slams. With very easy instructions like extra croutons on the salad. When the order was picked up which was over an hour wait (the online ordering system said 20 minutes). The restaurant was empty so it wasn't a busy night. Once the food was brought home the quality was very disappointing. Welted lettuce (it was brown) no tomatoes, NO croutons. Old fries. It was just ridiculous. For the amount of money you would hope you can at least get some fresh ingredients. Also the attitude the staff gave us was so unexceptionable. They were mad at us for ordering as If that isn't apart of their job? And on top of that they were tipped ahead of time! If I would have known this was the type of food they were going to be serving I would have definitely been hesitant on wanting to tip. Any who if your in the mood for Denny's I recommend going to the other location across town. It's a little better. But for those prices your better off going to a good quality cafe. read more

They have a great selection on the menu of several different items that are very affordable for example they have the $2. $4. $6. $8 menu, they also have different items at regular prices. Come here about three Sundays a month for lunch. Negatives are, Bad waiting area, and to small. Takes to long to get seated, need to fill all those empty tables we see even if they have to hire another person or what??. Get it on. Food is ok, could be better. Seems to very from Sunday to Sunday in regards to taste and portions. The best buy is the 2, 4, 6, 8, menu. The wait for food is long, long, and to long. The food could be hotter, the server usually does a good job. Denny's has raised their prices which I can understand, but believe they have reduced their portion size too!. The place needs to be cleaned / up dated. I don't know if other DENNY'S are like this, but we used to stop at the one in Visalia, it is fast, clean, great food, great service also. It is located on the corner of Hwy 198 and Akers road and super busy all the time!. Across the street from our doctors. Porterville doesn't have a lot of eating places, with the exception of fast food ones. Still we seem to eat at Denny's quite a lot. Four of us decided to get some lunch. I ordered the double burger which was huge and tasted great. It was way to big for me to eat by myself so I had to share with my brother. It was really good however the fries were so greasy probably recooked like three times because it was all grease, no potato left inside the fry. Went in and sat at the bar to get good service - wrong. Ignored me. I had to almost trip the waitress to get a cup of coffee. Waited 5 minutes at the register to get anyone to take my money; almost walked out without paying. Terrible food and equally poor food. read more

This is possibly one of the worst Denny's out there. Not only do they skimp you on your food portions, but their service is terrible. I honestly cannot recall the last time I had good service here; I always leave mad and disappointed. For example, the last time I went it was around 1 am and the place was fairly empty. We sit down and order. Our food comes out but oh wait? They never gave us any utensils to begin with so we have to wait another five minutes before the manager walks by so we can ask him to bring us some. At this point a large party of about 8 people show up and all of our waiters attention goes to them. I was waiting for her to come back so she could bring me the extra butter I had requested on my pancakes but she never came back to check on us until I was already done with my meal.
