Two really good hot buttermilk pancakes, two eggs (got mine poached, cooked perfectly), came with sausage or bacon, I upgraded to apple Gouda sausage for 0.49. Very good. I'm not going to lie , in the past i've received terrible service and didn't think I would come back . I went today with my husband and kids because we haven't had it since before the pandemic . The service was great . The waitress was kind and took special care of my kids and made sure we had everything that we needed . The service is amazing! The employees are quick and confident with the job! But unfortunately... I found a fly in my food. I can't tell if I bit half of it off, or if this is a small fly. It only had 1 wing after I finished munching on my meal. So I think I ate the other one. That shit sucks, kinda ruins the whole denny experience. I've gone to this Denny's for many, many years. It's disappointing when I place a take out order and it's wrong or incomplete! Unfortunately, this has happened a few times before. When I've called back the only solution is to come back and we'll complete your order. Why wasn't it correct the first time? And do you really think once I've gotten home I want to turn right back around to get the rest of my order?! There has to be a better solution for fixing their mistake. I went in today to pick up my order and the manager kept telling different people to help me and no one was listening to him. Finally a girl came by and he told her to help and she checked me out. Talk about feeling not welcomed! Once I paid I asked if my order was complete and she said yes. I should have know better than to take her word for it, especially at this location. 3 items were ordered and 2 were incomplete! For the Ultimate Omelette I added avocado, and was charged for it, and it was missing. My sourdough bread, which comes with my order, was also missing :( To make things worse I ordered Banana Creme Pancakes and they looked utterly depressing. Totally unappetizing! You'd think with a small order more care would be put in to not getting it wrong, but that doesn't seem to be a priority. It wasn't even busy this morning! I called to let them know my order was incorrect and the manager didn't even take my call. The person who took my order did and she offered to have me go pick up the rest of my order. It's not entirely her fault, the cooks have to be careful to make the orders correctly as well! Regardless, I felt her solution was unacceptable, so she took my name and number and said the manager would call me back because he was too busy at the moment. I'm giving Denny's a 3/5 because I have varying experiences with each visit. Sometimes the service is flawless: fast seating, quick service, and delicious food. My go-to meal is the 'Moons over my Hammy' sandwich. However, sometimes it's not. One time there was a homeless man passed out next to the entrance door (obviously on some form of drugs, I mean that's Riverside for you). Ignoring that because it's out of the restaurant's control, the waiting list to be seated was really out of order. I had just entered the restaurant and got seated before other people who had clearly been sitting there for a while. The waiting room also gets really crowded, which is made worse from people trying to pay at the same register that people are trying to put in their name at. I've had times where I waited a while to be served at my table. Overall I think Denny's is too expensive, just as other diners. For the quality of food I think most of the options should be price reduced, especially because adding sides really racks up the cost. The issues with the restaurant definitely is NOT with the workers, but rather the organization/rules of business of which they have no control over and are obligated to follow. On a brighter note, they are open 24/7 so if you're hungry and nothing is open, you can go to Denny's. read more

Even though this Denny's is located in the UV right by the UCR campus, I think I've only been here twice last year. I sorta feel destined to be scantily clad each time I'm here. One time it was after my formal and I had changed into a pink sorta lowcut tank top and black short shorts, and so it was like 7 AM and my date and I ended at Denny's. And I secretly found it amusing because he was still in his black dress shirt with the tie still on, I think, and black dress pants. I'm sure I must have looked like a prostitute. The other time, it was a late night grubbing after clubbing. I was in shiny, black clubbing attire. I think that's enough said. I'm totally off topic but who caresss. To be honest, Denny's was one of my favorite restaurants until I visited this particular one. Denny's is known for its great hospitality however, I've seen none of that in this diner. Though the majority of the restaurant was empty when me and my friends walked in, it took them over 20 minutes to seat us even though some of the waiters there were just chatting amongst each other. The waiter messed up on our orders and even charged us extra for things we didn't order and receive. After our meal, we noticed that half the items listed in the receipt were things that we didn't order and receive and it took us over 30 minutes to resolve this issue with the manager who was also quite rude to us. I only come here late night to fulfill a hunger during finals or come here to hangout with some coworkers. Service here lately has been pretty good, but there are days when I'm like where the heck are they. If I were to create an average on time of service it would be slow. LOL. I'm currently addicted to their zesty nachos at the moment. I come here and share half zesty nachos and half sampler plate. That's about $11 of food for two people to eat. Wanted to use my birthday coupon I got emailed to me for a free grand slam....... Now I have been using this coupon for years, and never once was I told that I had to purchase a drink, and the coupon doesnt state that a purchase has to be made. As I'm placing my order, I tell the manager that I want to use my coupon and he tells me that I have to purchase a drink.....I tell him that I never had to purchase one before, and the coupon doesn't state anywhere that a drink purchase has to be made. He then tells me that every Denny's is different and I have to purchase a drink there, if I want to use my coupon. I did not want a drink from there, I already had my beverage of choice that I wanted to enjoy with my breakfast. Not recommended. The customer service is terrible. This is my story: On October, 2021 a student friend and I went in for breakfast around 9:30 in the morning. Although the place was empty the host, a young Indian boy, told us the wait was 20 minutes. It was hard to imagine a wait like that in an empty place, but we sat down anyway. After about 10 minutes of observing the tables that had patrons, I noticed that not a single table had been visited by a server. No wonder the wait was 20 minutes! We left. I'm generally a fan of Denny's for a quick, reasonably priced meal, but the management of this particular store is clearly sub par. My advice is to go to the IHop across the street. We were seated instantly and our food was fast, hot and delicious. read more
