Stopped here on the way to Colorado, we were sat pretty quickly despite the sign saying we are understaffed so if your in a hurry don't eat here. Despite that, we were sat pretty quickly and food didn't take that long... however We had to listen to the staff discuss how they have been sober for 9 years but have family on and off drugs, have bad choices in men, and can't get pregnant. Staff also asked the men eating there if they wanted receipts to prove they didn't buy breakfast for another female because men can't be trusted. I will never eat here again, our waitresse was rude, would over talk you and felt like she needed to tell you how to have your food and drinks. It's new years weekend and they were out of everything, then our appetizers came and she slid the bowls on the table and put her hands on her hips like look what I did, 3 tiny burnt chicken strips and 4 tiny onion rings, my brother said that's it for 7 bucks? She said yep that's all we gotst yes she said gotst like a little kid. This was the best Denny's I've ever been to! Our waitress, Cheri, was incredibly kind and helpful especially when helping pick out food for my Grandpop, who is on a diabetic diet. All it takes is one bad, rotten apple to net a one-star rating for a restaurant, in this case Denny's at 1602 S. State Street, off of 70-E, in Salina, UT. My server was SO cold and rude, I couldn't believe it. As she approached me for the first time, I immediately sensed an iciness; something was off; no smile, no friendly demeanor. Her voice was almost monotone, face expressionless. I asked for water; she brought it. Shortly after I asked if I could have three buttermilk pancakes (the photo showed two). With an aloof voice and facial expression she said I couldn't get three; I'd have to double order the two. In a casual voice I remarked, "You mean they can't just make three?" She said they couldn't make three; it was either four or two. I've eaten out many times and have always had these kinds of requests happily granted. However, I gave in and said, "Then I'll order two of the two." I then asked her to bring my milk out one minute before the pancakes. This may sound nitpicky, but a thousand servers before her have honored this request with a smile. Servers get atypical requests ALL THE TIME; it comes with the job. I don't want my milk sitting out for 10 minutes before my pancakes come; I like milk only when it has a fresh chill. The server's exact response (no kidding), in a COLD voice, was: "This isn't a five-star restaurant. I'm not going to bring the milk before your meal." I replied, "Actually, I've made this request at two-star restaurants and they always bring it right before the meal." She then quickly rambled, with an irritated voice, something about being too "slammed" to honor this simple request. Again, I've made this request more times than I can count at other common diners. The response I typically have gotten is along the lines of, "Sure! No problem!" or, "Of course, I can do that!" The manager brought out my pancakes. No milk. I told her, "The milk was supposed to come before the pancakes." I waited briefly and then the server brought it. NOT ONCE did the server ask how my meal was or if I needed anything. I actually didn't need anything, but it's the point: Servers ALWAYS ask how my meal is and if I need anything; sometimes too often. She kept walking by me like I didn't exist. She was also aloof with a few other patrons, but was friendly and exceptionally chatty with the people in the booth right behind me. This means she wasn't simply over-worked. A portion of the second double stack of pancakes tasted like onion; I said nothing about this. I quickly consumed the meal; I asked the manager for the check; while I was doing that, the server placed it on my table. I wrote her a nasty note (trust me; she had the nastiness coming to her) that included the words "No tip." I didn't want to give her a verbal piece of my mind because these days, everyone has their phone camera ready to roll, and I didn't want any scenes with me getting posted to TikTok or YouTube. I paid the manager up front, then went to my car. Before starting it I spent a few minutes doing things. Then I pulled out, and, as I turned around in the lot, I saw the manager outside in the back. I began wondering if the server saw the note; there was always the possibility that the manager saw it first and took it. I got out to speak to the manager about the server, and that's when I saw the note (bright orange paper) in her hands, phone in other. Assuming that the server read the note and gave it to the manager, I headed towards my car. That's when the manager began walking towards me and griping. I interrupted and told her that, "There was NO excuse for the way she talked to me! NO excuse!" I said, "What a HORRIBLE server she is!" We spoke over each other, so I didn't hear everything she said. What I DID hear was her telling me never to come to that Denny's ever again. I regret not saying, "Why would I come back to THIS dump? GET OVER YOURSELF." However, that comeback had not occurred to me. She then threatened to call the police. I said, "Go ahead, by the time they come I'll be gone." I regret not thinking of saying, "Yeah right, the cops will come out because a patron told the manager what a lousy, horrible server she has." If you go to this Denny's (1602 S. State Street in Salina, UT), avoid at all costs a server with the following physical description (I didn't get her name): White, 35-40, 5-6 or 5-7, brown hair tied back in a thick braid, extremely thin, hollowed-out cheeks. In fact, you may as well skip this Denny's altogether unless you don't mind an onion taste in food that's not supposed to have onion flavoring. UPDATE: So they kept the note. Hmmm, that's interesting. But the server deserved that note all the way. I have no apologies. Treat me well and you get a big smile and a 20 percent tip. Treat me like sh/t for no reason and you get a returned favor. That server gets no pardons just because she starves herself. I wasn't 86'd; I left quietly, then spoke to the mgr in the lot. read more

Aside from the lady that seated us eating a dinner roll behind the front counter, setting it down, wiping her fingers on her pants, then picking up our silverware and taking us to our table, it was a great experience. Our server was friendly, very attentive, and the food was great. read more

The ladies who serve you are sweet, but damn, if you like Denny's you either have very low expectations or have never actually tasted good food. I had never had Denny's before so for dinner on Saturday July 19 2008, had dinner there with hubby. Service was prompt. Food was great. Better than IHOP or Village Inn, I tried before. The place was slightly crowded with travellers since this place is in middle of no where and offers 24 hours service of food. Hands down the best Denny's I've ever been to! Even though it's part of a major chain, it felt like a hometown diner. We happened to stop in while passing through on a 19-hour road trip. Almost everyone in there was local and greeted by name. Our server, Kasey, had all the regulars' orders memorized. I'm sure all Denny's have standardized ways of making their meals, but these pancakes were fluffier and coffee was more delicious and free-flowing. The restaurant itself was clean and homey. Let me start by saying if I could give zero stars I would. We went to eat after the balloon launch and we got Danelle as our server. We were sat for 35 plus minutes and watched as people got sat in her section after us and she would immediately go up to the table introduce herself and take their drink orders and she continued to look at our table but never came over to do her job. We had to get up and as Nicki of the managers to take our drink order and then we waited another 23 minutes before we grabbed another server all together. It was a disgusting display of customer service and than disturbing to hear that she has a management role. She didn't come up and apologize for anything. This isn't the first time Danelle was rude but, it is the first that her unprofessionalism has bothered me enough to say something. Maybe it had something to do with the 4 hungry children at the table that had been patiently waiting. There are many great severs at this restaurant. We were struggling to find places to eat nearby for our wedding day breakfast. Everywhere nearby had terrible reviews. My wife found this Denny's had amazing reviews so we made the trip here. Upon arriving the restaurant looked brand new and well kept. We walked in and were helped immediately. The inside is unlike any other Denny's I've been to, it's very clean and extremely well kept. Very impressive! Our waitress Cheri was one of the kindest waitresses we've ever had. She checked in on us and made sure we had everything we needed. Hate to say it but when theres very limit restaurants, Dennys is a good option. These small town reataurants charge u a lot for less food. I got Tres Leche panckaes with 2 sausage, crispy hashbrown, & 2 eggs for only $10. It was a filling breakfast. Waitress is nice & attentive. read more

This Denny's is a welcome respite for a weary traveler. I normally dont eat at Denny's because of cleanliness or service, but this one is amazing. Super clean, everyone is super friendly, especially Cheri! Super welcoming, decent WiFi for taking a client zoom call, and the food is pretty good! They do social distancing, clean and sterilize tables and seats between customers and have sanitizer etc available for everyone. Anyway, if you are on a long stretch in the middle of nowhere Utah canyon land, this is a highly recommended stop. read more

Called in a phone order, get there I'm about 10-15 minutes. Order hadn't been placed at all and the hostess continued asking me how I wanted my food as if she didn't take my order. I ordered a veggie omelet and she came back to tell me they couldn't make one. I asked her if she could make a regular omelet without the meat. She had to seek help for everything.
