We went here for brunch with a party of 9 (5 adults, 4 children; 10mo, 3yo,6yo, 9yo) at 11:15 AM, after church. We were told it would be a 20-30 wait; which was reasonable. Several minutes later, the host requested us to wait in our cars "to make room for the coming lunch rush". She just asked us the leave the #empty waiting room and wait in our cars. We were not allowed to stay. We asked her again to clarify, and she indicated that they cannot have people occupy the waiting area, as the lunch rush comes in. There was enough seating in the waiting area for our entire party to be seated while waiting. We asked to speak with the manager to clarify their request. He indicated that they had requested it but he said we could now stay. We said we will honour their initial request, and had an amazing lunch at Boston Pizza. read more

Love the food and their milkshakes are to die for! Oreo milkshake is a must have and so is the steak. Ask for herbed butter and it will change the game! Kids eat free from 4pm on Tuesdays. Their kid menu is similar to IHOP but somehow we like Denny's better. read more

We had Pawan as our server this morning, and she is very good at her job. She's friendly, attentive, and definitely a good server at this restaurant. I make it to Denny's about once a year - usually for their Free Birthday Deal. This is the closest Denny's to South Surrey with plenty of free parking. The restaurant was buzzing half full of customers, we got seated into a booth and our server was quick to greet us. I told him about my birthday and he was quick to explain the deal - $11.29 off your meal with valid I.D. - easy peasy and a good discount off my food. I ordered the Double Berry Banana Pancake Breakfast ($12.49). The sunnyside eggs were perfectly cooked and warm. The bacon was crispy and tender. The hashbrowns were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside and not too oily. My favourite part were the pancakes - fresh, sweet, big blueberries inside a fluffy pancake topped with fresh bananas and tart strawberries all under a big dollop of whipped cream... it was like a delicious birthday cake! Definitely a Happy Birthday to me! My boyfriend ordered the Prime Rib Eggs Benny. The meat was tender and was great with the soft poached eggs. Overall, our service was friendly and although sometimes we had to wait a little, it was a decent meal at Denny's on a sunny Wednesday afternoon. read more

Every now and then I get a craving for a traditional breakfast but most places offer only egg options which I don't eat. What I like about Denny's is I can create my own breakfast without being hosed on side order prices. The coffee isn't to die for but the staff are nice and on a day off during the week the atmosphere is very relaxing; not so much on the weekends but that's to be expected. read more

.. Denny's has a special Banana Nail n' Nut Pancake?.. I went to Denny's with few friends and we ordered a steak omellete with pancakes. The taste/quality was good but we were stumped as we found a human nail in my banana pecan pancake. My friend wanted to try a portion of my pancake and he was unlucky enough to get the part of the pancake which had the nail... he chewed on it for a bit before realizing it's not suppposed to be part of the pancake. He took out this thing and cleared out the mess and we could see (on his quickly turned pale face) what clearly was a a goddamn human nail! I took pictures before we left the table just in case and I am attaching it here. My friend was shaken a bit but we just made fun of the situation. I complained to the cashier when were paying for it and the cashier simply responded "ohh really i'm sorry to hear that" and goes about her business like it was no big deal. This Denny's shines above many others, and here is why! Let me first start by saying that during the COVID-19 Pandemic, this particular restaurant supported first responders and "front-liners" by providing them/us with a grand slam breakfast all day! As a Paramedic with little to no breaks in my shift, this was ver much appreciated as they accommodated many of us with irregular shifts. I wanted to be sure to make a mental note to mark this restaurant in my mind and to come back and support them when things re-opened. I did just that. I came in with my girlfriend and we had a lovely meal. At first glance, this Denny's is just like every other Denny's in the area. I am no stranger to the chain and over the years of eating at various Denny's. It seems that, over the years, the portions are shrinking a bit. I still remember getting full on one of their meals, but lately it seems my appetite has grown. Lucky for me, my girlfriend has a smaller appetite and I am usually able to score the little extra I need to fill me up from the stuff she is too full to eat :). The price is reasonable, and they have different fares for different types of meals. The service is always good and helpful at this location, especially with a caring owner/manager that supports their community in times of need. The decor and ambiance was relaxed and comfortable, as expected like the other restaurants in the chain. I will continue to return to this establishment, both as a grateful first responder, and as a satisfied customer. read more

Came for breakfast on a Saturday morning. We were seated really quickly, but the service was quite lacking. It was hard to tell if the servers were deliberately bad at what they did because they didn't care or felt overwhelmed, or if they legitimately didn't know what good/great customer service is. There was no actual engagement with any customers, nor follow through with how meals were. No checking or top up for beverage, not that we needed one -- more an observation made. The server stopped by our table to take our order, drop off the bill and take our plates. She then came back later to grab other plates as we finished our meals at different times, and none of those times she really said anything. Also, yup, you read right: dropped off the bill prior to us finishing our food. Didn't check if it was separate or together. Didn't say anything about her shift ending soon and checking if we needed anything or if we wanted our bill passed onto someone else or brought it up right away so they can cash out. Just left it and walked away without asking if we needed a machine or if we were interested in anything else. It was somewhat cringeworthy, actually. Then, when we got up to the front till to pay (after being told they would bring a machine and then nothing happening), it took them four different people to sort out the bill. I get it. They just opened a few months ago. Seriously though, more training needs to happen, because this location pales in comparison to the Langley one. Poor service could've been overlooked, but the food was not that great either. Slightly burned on the outside, and semi-raw on the inside for the hash browns I ordered, which was disappointing as hash browns are a fav of mine. The vegetarian omelette I ordered also didn't taste that good, so I was let down all around. I don't give 1 stars often. This was a really poor experience though. C'mon Denny's, you guys can do better than this. Please step it up. read more

I have been there many times in the early am hours after work. While the food itself is as good as any Denny's this location is a hotbed of drunks , This location does seem to value customers much less, with wait staff not paying any attention to seated customers no matter their manners. Manager absent even when the drunk folks are loud and rude to other customers. If your desperate, or if its day time hours give it a shot. Maybe you will see a better place to eat. But at night, unless your drunk don't bother. read more

This is a 24 hour Denny's which is great when you're feeling hungry in the middle of the night or early in the morning. This location has great service, has short waiting time, coffee was refilled on time and the waiters really keep an eye on you. The food is the usual greasy diner food, but the great thing is that everything is available all day! So if you want lunch at 6am, you get lunch at 6am. If you want dinner at 6am, you can do that too! I love Denny's. read more

This location is very new and understandably there are many servers in training. A few hiccups occasionally with something like ice in my drink when I asked for none, etc. But this is to be expected with a new place that is still getting on its feet. The manager, Zaid, is a seasoned veteran of the food service industry. We met him when we would go to the Delta one on Scott road. When he transfered to run this location, we switched to follow him. My boyfriend can make very obscure and creative requests, and Zaid takes the challenges readily. One time he took over in the kitchen and made something three times because my bf was being particularly specific. Pleasant and helpful, he is very creative, too. More than one case of "Surprise me" and he came up with something delicious and not on the menu. I feel really bad letting them know when something comes not to my specifications, but there is never any issues with a swift resolution to the problem. The ONLY thing I don't recommend ordering goes for any Denny's anywhere: breakfast sausage. But I blame the supplier for that. ;) It breaks my heart to go to the other coast where there are no Denny's, but more so that I don't anticipate encountering a restaurant manager who is so personable that he is the primary reason we ate here regularly. read more

We have gone to this location a number of times and always found the service erratic. Getting a refill on your coffee was always an adventure. We have resorted to going up to the counter to ask because the server ignored us. But yesterday was a new low. We arrived and were promptly seated with menus and then completely ignored. Despite our gestures and requests no one came to take our order. It was like we were invisible. It wasn't that they were busy...it was 3:00 pm and there were four servers on duty. We waited another 15 mins and left after complaining to the manager (who appeared uninterested). We won't be back. read more

Terrible terrible customer service from the manager Zaid of the King George restaurant in Surrey. My wife has had gastric bypass surgery which has literally reduced the size of her stomach and every time we go into a restaurant or a Dennys we tell them and they are fine with letting her order from the seniors menu or the kids menu. Well we told this to the waitress and she was fine with it until she came back and told us that her manager Zaid had told her that because she was not a senior she could not order from the seniors menu. I then requested to speak to the manager and when he came to our table and we explained this to him he proceeded to tell us that they have "rules" and that they will not accommodate my wife but instead he suggested that she order a half meal. Well now one of the only things she can order from there does not come in a half meal. We explained to him that most of the food would get thrown out anyways if she ordered a full meal. I tried talking to him and I told Zaid that I am a business owner myself and my wife is an optician and we were not there for a handout and it wasnt like we came in asking for free food. He proceeded to keep telling me they have rules and they would not do it. I told him rules are meant to be broken to accommodate customers with certain circumstances and that it is good practice to keep customers coming back. None the less we ended up getting up and leaving still hungry and visually upset by this manager Zaid. We then proceeded to go to the Scott road Denny's and before we sat down we explained the surgery part to the waitress and asked if it was okay that my wife order from the seniors menu. The waitress was so nice she immediately said yes we could without even thinking about it. These are the things businesses need to do to keep the customers happy. About half way through the meal we were approached by the manager who then proceeded to try and justify "rules". Apparently he had just got off the phone with the other store manager in question Zaid. Turns out they are friends and when I tried to ask him certain questions in regards to his friend Zaid he purposely avoided answering it not once but twice. We told this manager that we will be filing a complaint about this and he tried to downplay it in order to make the other manager look good. All in all we will NOT return to the King george George Denny's and we will certainly not recommend the restaurant. read more

We just had lunch at Denny's the food was fresh and abundant and the prices were good. The staff was friendly and very efficient. I enjoyed my whole meal and they brought out extras we didn't have enough of like sour cream and salsa. If you're like me and have a bad experience in the past with Denny's I suggest you give it a try because they've changed. And they have quite the extensive menu, with him some healthy choices that have calories and fat information on the meal. read more

Always enjoy eating at Denny's franchises due to obvious reasons. I came in with my family and from who I assume was the manager kindly greeted us and got us a table right away. For myself,I had the cinnamon pancake breakfast. I thought the bacon, eggs, and hash brown were pretty good. The pancakes were meh in my opinion and that was the main part I was looking forward to. Also, had an OREO milk shake and thought it was alright nothing mind blowing. In terms of the staff, I would say they were super friendly and awesome! Our server was nice and helped my parents with their choices. All in all, I would say I probably come back to try another dish. read more

He's the BEST manager of any restaurant I've been to. we changed what dennys we go to when he changed locations. If it weren't for him, I wouldn't eat at Dennys even half as much as I do. Id ask Zaid to surprise me with my order. He's never disappointed. accommodating when I ask for something not on the menu. They've never said no. Very disappointed. I went in with a small group figuring that the service if not the same would be better than the Scott Road location especially with it being brand new, but I was very wrong. Among a few things that went wrong: 1) nachos full size-delivered half size or less-cook didn't know how to make it 2)poutine-cook didnt know how to make it. melted cheese on fries. I could do at home 3) went in at 3 am when it was not busy at all. Left at 530 because the order took over an hour to get to us. There was another table who had the same issue right across us. The only thing I can say is the lady serving us was very nice, and did try and understand how upset we were but as far as the cooking goes, she said it was out of her hands. read more

Last Tuesday (May 24th 2016) I went to the new Denny's on King George Blvd. in Surrey. I walked in around 9am and saw two Managers in shirts and ties and about five waitresses, great I thought - I should be well looked after. Not true! The waitress asked if I would like Bold Coffee or Mild Coffee... I choose the Bold.. after 5 full minutes I receive a cup of luke warm coffee. I asked for a hot cup and 7 minutes later it came.. It was hot but very bitter. I called over one of the Managers and explained that I have been waiting over 10 minutes for a hot coffee..... He said maybe the classic blend (sounds better than mild) would be better, I said fine. Seven more minutes went bye and a waitress said it would only be a few more moments.... To get to the end of my storey... I waited 3 more minutes (over 20 minutes in total) and never got coffee. I WALKED OUT! I can not say how the food was but the service and customer care was A-W-F-U-L ---- Denny's on King George Blvd has a big staff, loads of managers but no interest in customer service. When this King George Blvd. branch opened in Newton we were very happy,as living in Newton very close by we no longer had to make the much longer drive over to Scott Rd. Denny's. What a mistake, we tried it 4 times and hoped it would improve as being new we gave the benefit of a doubt and kept coming back. After repeatedly getting unfriendly, poor service and lack luster yucky, poor quality food,salads and coffee we went back to the much longer driving to Scott Rd Denny's even though we live only 5 minutes from this horribly poorly run K G Blvd Denny's. Being retired we therefore eat out allot, so we let many months go by and continued with our 2 to 3 times weekly trek to Scott Rd Denny's and finally thought we should give them another chance and tried King George Denny's once again, hoping they may have improved. Wrong- it got worse! Especially the rude waitress who this time also appeared to be the head waitress slams the food down on the table like the proverbial sloppy Joe's, no friendliness whatsoever or offer of coffee refill, never at all asking if everthing is ok, We were going to ask for desert after our meal but she gave us no chance, she slapped the bill on the table, walked away without saying anything then 10 minutes later sits down at the bar and starts loudly chatting and smoozing with her boyfriend who came into the restaurant at that point wearing martial arts clothing and appeared to be hoping to pick a fight by the way strutted around with a puffed out chest and made a big loud show of cuddling up to this horrible waitress.Obviously it was near the end of her shift but no excuse to treat us the way she did as it appeared we were one of her last customers of her shift. I am disgusted with this place and will never set foot in it again--now back to trekking to Scott Rd. Denny's where the waitresses are always friendly,attentive, courteous and helpful, the quality of food is always excellent and the atmosphere is friendly, relaxed and enjoyable. Try their cheddar broccoli soup, incredibly delicious! The managers are attentive and friendly and run the place the way a quality restaurant should be.
