Would give no stars if I could. Firstly, the waiter that was there , was horrible. She didn't notice us when we came in because she was on her phone. Then, she seats us and tells us about her car for a few minutes. We order our drinks, but she talks to her friend before even putting our order in, this happens again with the food. After we ordered our food, it sits there for about 15 minutes. I go up and ask If I can take my food. She says she'll do it and once we get our food, my child's food had a ton of sprinkles on his pancakes. She says she used it on the wrong side. We also saw she didn't put any other of the people's orders until she talked to her friend again. We could also hear her on the phone, that a pickup was done wrong. She then was talking to the chef and said she doesn't care and to make it the exact same. My pancakes and eggs were cold and raw, most likely from sitting right there. They were seated at 10:36 and text me at 11:48 saying they just got their drinks and out 10 year old is crying because she's so hungry and has been sitting there for over an hour without food. My request was a simple one, I ordered the Lumberjack slam with a delay on making pancake, so they would be hot enough to melt butter... The server said they cannot do that, the cook would be mad... If I could, I would leave a zero star review. We waited for over an hour for our food, with zero coffee refills, and had to ask multiple times for more water. Every time we were just about to get up and leave the waitress would come and tell us our food was about to come out. TLDR: place is trash at a landfill... It's like the Wild West in this restaurant, stood for almost 10 minutes as the staff continued to walk past us over and over again. I grew up eating at Dennys in Union gap, always was great service... until today... My wife and I with my mother-in-law and daughter waited to be seated for about 15 minutes, once we were seated, we waited about 10 minutes to be asked if we wanted anything to drink, as we waited, we watched the server take customers she knew and sit them down, she then brought them their drinks as she walked by us with a smile. I then asked her again when we would be getting our drinks , she said they would be on the way, she then proceeded to head back to the table with her friends, she then took their oder for food, the table next to us said they had been waiting for drinks as well, they left before even getting their drinks!! I got up to talk to someone else, i then seen they had steritech there... he's like quality control. I again asked for drinks. She said OK and walked off. Service was so bad, I understand at times they are understaffed but they weren't even trying to give good service. We were given our coffee in to go cups, we got no silverware and no napkins when we were sat down. It then took around 40 minutes just for them to take our order, while they were taking orders from people who got here even after us. After waiting an additional 30 minutes for our food they ended up giving us the wrong order. We then had to wait around 10 more minutes to get our order and when we got it it was wrong again, we told the server and she scoffed and gave us a very rude look even though it was not our mistake it was hers. We then finally got our order and we asked another server for a coffee refill, because our original one was no where to be found, she said yes to the refill and then just left to serve another table and we never got our refill. They Homie from Denny's. I went to Denise tonight to order a meal and I was going to dine in but it was 30 minutes to closing and so they weren't gonna let us. After finding that out and after a couple apologies later the Kirk from the back came out said that he was going to give us a better deal and was able to accommodate us in a awesome manner that made me leave feeling good even though I wasn't able to dine in. Returned after Covid is winding down hopefully. I asked for a seat over in the main seating area and instead was seated next to the bathroom and told she could close the blinds. We ordered the strawberry blueberry pancakes with two eggs over medium and no whip cream. The order arrived with whip and eggs over hard. We had also ordered bacon only. The replacement arrived with bacon and sausage. We never did see the sugar free syrup we had ordered. The staff spent all of their time discussing who should do what and if the manager should take the position at the other Denny's. I asked to speak with the manager and she was on the phone which was the case the whole time we were there. They couldn't log on to the till so the third person knew how to do that. This has got to be the worst customer service I've received at a restaurant in Yakima in the last year. We waited for 30 minutes to be seated with a group of 5 and the wait was because they needed tables to be wiped down. Because the location is so small I could see all of the tables in the establishment and could see 6 tables waiting to be wiped down so customers could be seated. We then waited another 20 minutes to have silverware and water brought to us. We ordered at the same time and it took another 30 min for a milkshake to be brought out, and food 10 minutes after that and one of the orders was a plain hamburger....they brought out a Philly cheesesteak. It could be an off day but there were plenty of staff around to accommodate that location yet the service would make you think only 2 people were doing everything in the restaurant. Decided for some breakfast at Denys , walked in at 10:40ish , took about 10 minutes to be seated . We finally ordered and got two strawberry lemonades while we waited for our food . About half an hour later an elderly couple by our side started to get irritated about their food not being ready , mind you they have had been there way before us . They flagged the waitress down and asked about their food , which by coincidence it was on its way. We waited another 15-20 minutes before i started getting irritated & finally myself flagged the waitress down for the check , ( two lemonades) . We went upfront and were asked if we wanted to know if the food was almost out . Who would have believed it wasn't even made yet or was the next order up. Terrible waiting time & they had the audacity to charge for our lemonades which we didn't even drink ( i did mine half way) . It seems that my experience here (twice) has been quite a bit different than many others. First off, when I go to a Denny's, I keep that in mind. It's a short order restaurant that's does a decent job at breakfast and anything that can be fried. Past that, it's hard to guarantee anything! I've order pancakes and a country fried steak scramble from this particular location. Pancakes, per normal, are pretty hard to screw up and I think Denny's actually does them pretty well! Who doesn't love a short stack!?! Simiarly, the country scramble was solid. Country fried steak, potatoes, onions, peppers, and heart-stopping gravy! Horrible, disgusting location. Salad had moldy tomatoes on it and club sandwich was all bread and very little meat. Even the fruit was flavorless and beyond the ripeness that a person should be eating safely. The women's bathroom was absolutely disgusting. No one asked us how our food was.
