After lots of research and recommendations, we came upon Dr. Shahrestany at Studio City Dental Arts. I have had my share of many experiences in the dental chair and just like everyone else who doesn't enjoy going to the dentist, I will tell you that Dr. Shahrestany makes the experience far less intimidating and nerve-racking! She is amazing at her work. She's honest and doesn't push for something she does not believe is needed. I recently replaced an old crown of mine and you can't even tell that it's a crown! Flawless. Dr. Shahrestany is a lovely human being who's always smiling genuinely. Her staff is very helpful and sweet, especially Danielle at the front desk who is always on top of everything. Although the staff is friendly and responsive, the service repeatedly made me feel uncomfortable. At one point, I was asked during a cleaning my political beliefs, and although I believe the hygienist wasn't trying to intentionally alienate me, I was incredibly uncomfortable. My next few visits were business as usual, but recently I went in due to tooth pain I was experiencing, and the doctor told me she'd do a filling and try to repair a space with another filling. She did the first filling but wasn't happy with it, and proceeded to hurriedly do the filling again without communicating anything to me. In the process of the other filling, the tray table broke, and I was left alone in the room for ~10 minutes with a clamp in my mouth. I expressed I was in pain, the staff laughed (I think out of awkwardness), I was finally moved to a new room and the filling completed. Their staff emailed me my X-rays upon request, and when I went to see a new dentist, she found seven cavities that somehow weren't detected by this practice. Overall, I appreciate the politeness of the staff, but really don't appreciate how I was treated as a patient. read more

This review is long overdue. I would like to first start by saying the dentist is very friendly and personable. She's extremely polite and able to work with your schedule as far as making appointments. Here is why she didn't receive an epic review from me. I had to go back too many times to get the result I was looking for. I was only getting my two front teeth veneered due to natural discoloration. When I got my "tester" teeth, I had squirrel teeth. I have a natural gap between my top and bottom teeth and I think she tried to overcompensate. I came back a separate time for her to fix the length. This time I was happy. The third time was the permanent install. I was pleased with my final product .. until .. I now have a permanent horizontal wrinkle between my nose and top lip when I smile. I know this is from being administered anesthesia. The dentists would pull my top lip up to my nose and make several injections in the flesh above my top row of teeth. I had that done 3 times instead of 2 how it should have been. I hate this wrinkle, it is extremely deep and don't know how to fix it besides a possible surgery or having to get fillers. The experience was good, but the end result was not great. I would not return for additional work. read more

I've had quite a few teeth cleanings, a replacement for a dental appliance and two series of crowns since my first appointment on June 3, 2016. A nightmare experience. My partner went to this place a few years ago to get work done and from the beginning it was not good. The way that the veneers were done we had to get him a retainer because she left a gap in the teeth. Fast forward to today, and the veneer cracked. So we called to see what can be done but they were very rude. I'm extremely disappointed at the reaction that they gave us, and that they aren't standing behind their work. Since I was still in pain, I decided to check on Studio City Dental Arts one more time. Like I said, I liked Dr. Shahrestany and I was upset that I wasn't able to communicate w. her office and get a check up. Call it female intuition,I checker their siite and noticed that the site was revamped, it was late at night and I emailed the office. I got an email early next day from their front desk offering a couple of appointments, soon, so I can be checked and see the root of my pain. i wish this would have happened before! I am persistent and I am glad I tried one more time. I also had a feeling that my pain was connected with one of the fillings that Dr. Shahrestany did a few years ago and wanted her to check on it. She was nice as usual, prepared and identified the issue during the consultation and checked on her notes from back them. One of the fillings was close to my nerve (that's where the cavity was, very deep) and we figured out the tooth that created my pain. Not easy! She refered me to a specialist for a root canal procedure. Also, she did appologize to me because of the mess w. the concierge system and she told me she got rid of it after reading my Yelp review. Don't know if other patients complained, but I didn't expect my review to have such an effect. Yelp helped as a bridge of communication when I couldn't reach them. Too bad it happened in the first place, I was in pain for months and my husband took care of his cavity at another office and that wasn't a good experience for him. I wish the dr. would have done it instead since I know he would like her as much as I do. But I appreciate the doctor listening to her patients critique and working to get them a better experince. It shows the care I liked here in the 1st place. I went back a couple of times for a temp. crown and then a permanent one. A few hiccups, my first time back for consult I had 1 pm appt. Went there 10 minutes early and I was turned away, staff had a lunch break. It was strange, I don't want to interrupt, but I usually like to go a bit early to fill out paperwork. I made sure I wouldn't be early for now on. Another time I had a 12:30 pm appt. and got a confirmation text a couple of days before that it's at 1 pm. I wish they'd have called earlier to let me know sooner. I work till the moment I leave for the appt. These are small issues, it's new staff, I am sure they will improve since they all were nice to deal with. Everything is fixable w. direct communication. But I am glad things improved and I was able to see the doctor and get the care that I needed. For me, the plus of the office it's her, nice, caring, good, somebody I can trust and is easy to talk to, aproachable and knowledgeable who likes 80's hits as much as I do and hums along during procedures making it more bereable. We're looking for a new place for cleanings, so we'll be back when we'll need those! read more

I had a fantastic experience and highly recommend Dr. Shahrestany at Studio City Dental Arts. Somehow, I managed to break one of my molars all the way into the root. I was in a lot of pain for about a year, until I finally faced the fact that I needed to go to the dentist. Dr. Shahrestany was really patient as I worked my way through the phases of denial that the tooth had to come out, and the realization that I needed an implant. She sent me to a talented oral surgeon, and this week finished the process with the new implant. I can't say enough how lucky that I am to have a dentist be so understanding throughout this process. I would highly recommend her for any work that you need to have done, especially if you are anxious about going to the dentist like I am. I can't say enough good things about Studio City Dental Arts. I'm a highly anxious dental patient and I've had the BEST experience. It started with having to make a phone call which is really hard for me to do. Danielle answered the phone and I immediately felt at ease after sharing my dental anxiety. So I made an appointment and I actually went! Danielle is as just as kind and helpful in person as she was in the phone. Next up I meet India! She's probably the most fun dental assistant/hygienist I've ever met in my life. She's funny and it sounds crazy but I actually have fun and look forward to going back. Now for the grand finale! The dentist!! Dr. Shahrestany's is the most gentle, sweetest and I think conservative with dental work which I appreciate. She's not going to upsell you. After my long-time dentist retired, I wasn't a huge fan of the person taking over his practice. Luckily I was referred to Dr. Pro! She and her staff are kind and knowledgeable and the office is lovely. After years of simple cleanings, it was time to replace my crown and a filling which were down almost back to back and with relatively little discomfort. So I went on Yelp and liked what I read. The reviews are right, this is a wonderful place: the staff is lovely and very polite, the facilities are extremely clean, modern and tidy and the dentist is excellent: very gentle, attentive and explained every step and procedure. I was never scared or in pain. She took great care in making sure I was OK every step of the way. She fixed two cavities and did a wonderful cosmetic bonding on my front teeth. I've always been super self conscious of my smile. The size of my teeth & the gapping. I was finally ready to take the plunge to get veneers. I set up a free consultation, and Dr. Shahrestany walked me through the entire process & made me feel at ease. She even took the time to show me anonymous patients prior with SIMILAR teeth & gapping I had so I had a better visual of what my veneers would look like. There was so no pressure and they told me if I was interested to give them a call back and they would set up another appointment to get the molds started. Dr. Shahrestany is one of the kindest dentists I've ever had! She and her team made me feel comfortable and safe with their Covid-19 safety precautions. I cannot thank Glenda, Alma, Dr. Shahrestany and another woman (whose name is blanking on me) enough for the service that I received yesterday at Studio City Dental Arts. I as many others was hesitant before going in for my appointment since it had been such a long time since my last check up. I cannot tell you how welcoming not only the office was, but the staff. Friendly and more ham hospitable. Long story short, Dr. Shahrestany spoke to me with hope in her voice that I will have the smile that I want. It's just going to take time due to her wanting to get there properly. I had a liver transplant last year and I have to be extremely careful about any open wounds/incisions with the possibility of infection sending my new organ into rejection. Once I told them that, they made sure to make feel at ease about not only their cleanliness and precautions, but recommending minimally invasive work that would not put me at risk of getting sick. Dr.Shahrestany is AMAZING, super sweet, does great work, and office is clean BUT unfortunately her staff member that works her front desk, DANIELLE - IS HORRIBLE. I honestly don't know how she works customer service with her attitude. She is completely night and day to Dr.Shahrestany, who is the sweetest. I'm honestly dumb founded on how Dr.Shahrestany even hired her to handle her customers, the only thing I can guess is that Dr.Shahrestany is not aware of Danielle's rudeness which leads me to this post. I ask Danielle a question and she'll respond with such a passive aggressive attitude. Danielle always has an aggressive attitude and I honestly don't know why. When speaking to her over the phone she sounds like she either hates her job, or hates people, or both, and it's unfortunate because it has put a bad taste in my mouth and will no longer go to this office bc of Danielle. If I treated customers with the same attitude as Danielle I would be fired asap from my job. I feel bad for writing this post because Dr. Shahrestany has a great personality but her front staff desk, Danielle is beyond rude. Hopefully by writing this someone can read it and correct her horrible attitude or just hire a nicer person, because asking Danielle questions in regards to treatment, etc at the office is a nightmare. Five stars is not enough for this place. I started having a severe toothache and they were able to get me in the same day to examine the issue. Upon arrival, I was greeted by Glenda at the front. She was so kind and welcoming. I immediately felt comfortable. Once it was my time, India took me to one of the rooms, asked me about what was going on and got x-rays. She was so friendly and made me feel even more comfortable. The doctor herself came in a few minutes later and took another quick x-ray and promptly let me know what the issue was. She made me feel like she actually cared about my well-being, because she took the time to explain to me what I needed to do to resolve my issue. After my appointment, I was given an active treatment plan print out, which included a visual aid and pricing, as well as a referral pamphlet with the doctor's notes on it. I have spent pretty much my entire life hating my smile. When I was younger, my teeth got stained from Vitamin D drops my pediatrician insisted I be given. I had a temp crown that broke, while my regular dentist was out of town. I called a few other clinics and they were not willing to see me. I called Studio City Dental arts and they said, sure I could come in and they can take a look and see what they can do. When I went in, there was no waiting, they took a look at it and fixed it for me. I was in and out in less than 40 mins. Most people try avoiding there dentist but this office is so welcoming and the doctor is so amazing, kind and nice you will find yourself happy to return. I will not be going here anymore. Long story short. I had a pain in my tooth. Dr. Shahrestany did an X-ray of the tooth and flossed in between the tooth than told me that the tooth needed to be extracted and I would need an implant or a bridge. I was devastated any the news and it just didn't sit right with me so I got a 2nd opinion. It turns out that she misdiagnosed me and in fact the tooth could be saved and was. read more

Well- first off let me start off by saying that I had dental and medical coverage way back in college in 2008, but once I graduated, I lost it and essentially hadn't been back to either practice. Fast forward 5 years, and I was long overdue for a lot of things. I was also interested in invisalign, and Studio City Dental Arts seemed to be the cheapest out of pocket option I could find. Naturally, I was terrified, considering I hadn't been to the dentist in years, and my last experience was a horrible one. But walking in, I was greeted by Martha, who I connected with instantaneously. She was extremely welcoming and warm, and assured me that I'd have a great experience and consultation. She answered all my questions, and never made me feel annoying. Finally it was time to hop in the chair with Dr. Shahrestany. She is the most patient, kind dentist/woman/human ever. She explained everything she was doing and examining. She gave me a realistic idea of how long it would take to fix my smile, and made sure that I felt comfortable. I was able to pay for things in installments, and they helped introduce me to care credit as well. Dr. Shahrestany takes her time, and never makes you feel like you're a burden. I highly highly highly recommend her and this office. I've sent a lot of my friends there to have work done and they've all had similar experiences!! I'm now done with my invisalign and am super happy with the results.
