Beware of this place if you have medical! My brother went in because he needed a crown. They immediately told us that his medical didn't cover the procedure and charged us over $1800. We didn't question their response and went ahead and made monthly payments. Not even a year later, his crown fell off and went back and they wanted to charge us the same amount. That's when we did some research and called Medical and they stated that crowns are covered!! We got a second opinion at a different dentist, they submitted the crown request to medical, and within days, we got the approval and my brother got the crown replaced for free!! Went in for a root canal, wisdom tooth removal, and filling on a Saturday 4/22. Much of the procedure seemed to have gone well at the time, they prescribed antibiotics and 800mg ibprofin and I was sent home. I got to the pharmacy to pickup my medications, but the prescription was not sent to them. I tried to call back Dental Masters but they were closed by then. I called the after hours number a bunch of times and left messages, and was told someone would call me back, only I did not receive a call back until mid Sunday, finally Sunday afternoon I had my antibiotics, a whole 24 hours and then some after my surgery. This is an issue because it may have led to my bad outcome. Through the week, my face was looking more and more swollen, and pain level was rising. I had returned to Dental Masters on Tuesday 4/25 for a second look. Wednesday 4/26 I was laying down in pain and passed out, fell on the floor and was like rolling around on the floor overwhelmed by pain, my wife discovered me and called 911. The ambulance arrived and took me to the ER. As my condition was serious, I was hospitalized, they put me on IV antibiotics. On Friday 4/28 The hospital dentist put me under general anesthesia and removed the failed root canal tooth and drained an abscess. I am still in the hospital and recovering as of Saturday 4/29. read more

The fronts desk is extremely accommodating to your scheduling I've ran a few minutes passed my appointment the whole staff is able to squeeze me in and get out at a very great time hardly any wait time. Mary was the assistant very friendly lady I've been helped by her many times before. I was seen by Dr. Chung and he was very friendly and asked if I was comfortable the whole way through no pain at all during my work. "TERRIBLY SLOW" They seem to over book their appointments. Almost every time we come here, we show up a little before our appointment and it takes them an hour before we are called in. What's the point in making an appointment if they don't take you in at that time. On top of that, most procedures seem to never be covered by our insurance. They seem to choose codes that are not covered so we would have to pay out of pocket and use their credit service. Time to look for another dentist office. Most other dentist in the area have 5 stars and this one doesn't. Should have read those first. read more

They were very careful when dealing with my pregnancy and very patient with me as I also have a huge fear of dentists. The staff is friendly and amazing, whether providing customer service at the front desk or over the phone. I always make an appointment over the phone and I speak to multiple people and the customer service is always amazing. In the front desk I usually have Ofelia greet me or help. She is helpful and amazing. The same goes for Gigi who is always greets you and provides the best customer service. She is attentive and does a great job! The hygienist that did my cleaning was Lisa, and she is does a thorough job. She makes you feel comfortable and let's you know a step by step process on what she does. I show up and everything is closed I check online and it shows they don't open until 8 am yet until right now there is no one that can attend me all the lights are off and it's not even open. I am very disappointed this is a waste of my time having to wake up early and living in Palos Verdes is ridiculous. I do not recommend this dentist very unprofessional. I wanted to take the time to give Dr. Christina & staff recognition. First off Dr. Christina is by far the very best dentist I've ever had and I've had a few. She was on time getting to me, she explained everything perfectly, she was gentle to the point where my whole procedure was painless, she kept asking if I was ok... I didn't feel a thing. Dr. Christina you are amazing "THE BEST" I also want to recognize her assistant Ariana she was gentle great as well. My hygienist Lisa she was also very gentle friendly professional explained everything as well, Ariana your awesome . I also want to mention Giselle in the front reception. She was smiling welcoming the minute I walked in the door. I was a lil uptight coming in, but it made me feel good to walk in and be greeted so kindly. There was one other person I encountered that day unfortunately I didn't catch her name, she helped go over cost, she was also very nice and helpful. So thank you all for such a great experience. They told me for a root canal it was going to cost out of pocket $1,100+ and charge the rest to my insurance, so I decided to go to a different dental office for a 2nd opinion, AND GUESS WHAT!!! you guessed it I was not charge anything my entire work was covered by my insurance. I spoke to Ariana about a week ago and I explained that I needed to use my benefits before the end of the year. She said no problem,, she would bill my dental provider and my benefits would be used for 2021. Then she made an appointment and when I arrived, no one knew when Ariana would be back in the office and Cheryl, the other office person, said that my insurance would have to approved by my dental plan and my benefits for 2021 would not be used!!! I waited 45 minutes to be seen by Dr. La Viola. He looked at my exrays, never explained anything, just said he would be back with the treatment plan and NEVER came back in my room. The staff is terrible, the dentist is rude and didn't care that he keep me waiting, and never apologized. I've unfortunately needed some serious treatment -- including an extraction that led to an implant -- but their specialist did an outstanding job and communicated well throughout the process.
