The most terrible rude condescending dentist/team of hygienists I have ever been to. They lie to patients about for more income. Went to another older family dentist after this who said I didn't need any of the recommendations they kept saying I needed to get done and makes sense with a younger dentist who wants to pay off school debt. (Not sure if the main dentist is still the same one as the time frame I went in 2021) All these positive reviews are definitely fake or paid reviews. Dr. Mullarkey is THE BEST dentist I've had. Upon our first appointment, Dr. Mullarkey identified a chronic bone loss issue that no other dentist had pointed out, and I'm so grateful she did because it could've gotten way worse without taking action. In addition to having a few dental issues, I also have dental anxiety, which causes me to ask a million questions :) Dr. Mullarkey is always patient, compassionate and thorough. She makes me feel at ease because I'm confident I'm in good hands. Lastly, the office staff is great. They are friendly and organized and were able to get me in last minute today because I had some tooth sensitivity. I will continue to stick with Dr. Mullarkey and Cusp Dental even though I have to drive 30 minutes to get to their office. I'd definitely recommend them. read more

Before reading, know that I would never give any dental experience 5 stars because the anxiety I have for going to the dentist is unreal. However, Cusp Dental is pretty great. You won't lose your anxiety, but since going to the dentist is inevitable, I'd recommend this place. Their office looks really nice and I was given so much information during my cleaning around what I've been doing well and where opportunities exist. I was explained the science behind much of the reason for issues with my teeth and everyone from reception to the dentist herself were completely respectful, positive, and nice. They genuinely took the time to listen and work with me, rather than just getting you in and out. I had to go back for five fillings and while I should have taken a sedative before going, the team used a lot of the numbing stuff and not once did I feel any pain. Of course, my heart was racing the whole time, but they did an amazing job. Additionally, at the end of each visit, it was clearly communicated the next steps I should take to achieve my goals of a healthier smile. While we'd all like to never go to the dentist, I would highly recommend this team. read more

I had to come in while sick (fever, sore throat and later developed pink eye) to prevent them from charging me a cancellation fee. I tried to do the right thing but the right thing is expensive. When the appt was originally scheduled I was already within the 48 hour window so I would have never been able to cancel "on-time". I wasn't even planning on scheduling an appt but they reached out to me to tell me they had some openings that same week. I've been a patient for a bit spending thousands but obv that means nothing since money is all they care about. Hopefully no one else got sick due to their office practices. Disgusting. read more

As someone who's always had a phobia of dental work, it took me so many years to find a dentist I trust and am completely comfortable with. After a recommendation from a coworker, I decided to give Cusp a shot and made an appointment with Dr. Mullarkey. The overall vibe of the office is very unique and super comfortable. Nice colors, music, super friendly and personable staff who aren't robotic. Dr. Mullarkey and the hygienists on staff are super down to earth. They speak to their customers like they genuinely care, and are extremely careful when it comes to anxiety and pain tolerance. Since my visit I've recommended several other people to the office and each of them have been equally blown away by their experience. If you have PTSD from previous dentists, Cusp Dental will really change your outlook on the dreaded dental visit. I have had terrible dentists in Chicago and put off going back for fear of being bullied into unnecessary procedures, botched fillings, and poor communication with my insurance company. Dr. Younan and her staff are fantastic. They are very informative, honest, and personable. I barely noticed any kind of discomfort while Dr. Younan replaced a broken filling. Another dentist told me that filling was fine when I complained of sensitivity. I can't believe I waited a year to find Dr. Younan and find that there was an actual issue with it, but I'm glad I finally made it in. I went to Cusp Dental today for the first time and am THRILLED that I found this office. Over the last few years, I'd been going to a few dentists in the Loop (close to work), which had left me underwhelmed for various reasons. I am so glad I finally decided to make a move to a new office close to home in Lakeview. The office is very modern, clean and incredibly comfortable. Their chairs have a massage feature which is such a nice touch that I'd never seen before. The dentist and hygienist could not have been nicer or more professional. The dentist walked me through everything they were doing and thoroughly answered all of my questions. In addition, unlike other dentists in the past, I did not feel like they were trying to con me into unnecessary services. Cusp Dental totally gained my trust and a new, loyal patient! read more

After a completely botched root canal and finding out that I needed an extraction, the endodontist I visited who discovered that an extraction was needed recommended Dr. Younan. After the horrible experiences with my previous dentist, going to Cusp was a breath of fresh air! Not only was she on time (actually before time!) for all of my appointments, she spent A LOT of time with me explaining my options after an extraction. The extraction itself was not painful at all! Dr. Younan knew I was wary of dentists after my last one and checked in with me constantly, all the while explaining what she was doing. She was wonderful! Unfortunately, because I am a smoker, I developed a dry socket (even after waiting the time she told me). When her office called to check in and I told them that, they assessed me over the phone and prescribed an antibiotic to help. Even a few days after that, I was in agonizing pain, and called early on a Saturday morning when they were open. As you can imagine, Saturdays are usually busy, but Dr. Younan still wanted to see me and got in right away. A few days after that, It started feeling slightly better. Dr Younan had me come back TWICE after I had the emergency appointment to make sure It was healing properly, which I appreciated. Dr. Younan and her staff are seriously amazing! Feeling so relieved, and thankful for this place. As someone who has always hated going to the dentist, these ladies just might have me changing my ways. They were *beyond* patient, gentle, thoughtful and kind. Was in really good hands from three ladies at the front desk, to Liz who did my cleaning (and was a total saint), to Dr. Mullarkey who was equally as kind, concerned and patient. They answered all my questions, did everything possible to chill me out, and even had netflix and headphones for me to watch/distract myself with during the appointment. It had been a while since my last appointment with another dentist, and the team at Cusp was able to squeeze me in quickly for a last-minute emergency appointment and recommended me to an excellent oral surgeon that was able to provide me with an assessment the same day and a surgery appointment for later in the same week. I've been back since then to have a cleaning done and was impressed with how helpful everyone was and how interested they were in providing more information and suggestions for the future. I've been searching for my heaven sent dentist since moving to Chicago 8 years ago. I have easy teeth, clean em, make sure nothing has gone array--and I'm out the door. After recently moving to Chicago, I was on the market for a new dentist and am so glad I chose Cusp! The staff is incredibly friendly, the office is clean and modern, and the hygienists and Dr. Younan do an excellent job. I've been in twice recently, once for an initial check-up and cleaning and then back to have a cavity filled. Both times the hygienist and Dr. Younan were personable and professional and went above and beyond to ensure I was comfortable every step of the way. Furthermore, this happened to be my first cavity/dental procedure of my life and I was quite nervous going into it. To my surprise, I couldn't have been more relaxed throughout the procedure and was in and out in less than 20 minutes. I've put off my wisdom tooth extraction for far longer than I'd like to admit but in order to see an oral surgeon my insurance requires I see a dentist first. I searched for something close by, and after reading the reviews I called and even though they weren't accepting new patients until September they were kind enough to squeeze me in after I explained how much pain I was in. Upon arrival the office had clear signs for social distancing and after being taken back I explained how my fear of dental work has kept me from taking care of my wisdom teeth, they immediately did all they could to keep me call throughout the entire visit. They explained everything they were about to do, how it may feel, stoped frequently to ask if I was okay. They listened to my fear, and helped me be calm for the first time ever while at the dentist. I can't thank them enough for the best dentist visit I've ever had and I'm happy to finally have found a place I'm comfortable with. read more

Get in there......it isn't so bad. Dr. Younan is amazing. Her staff is equally as pleasant. The environment is clean and they really make you feel at ease, which is something I have always found difficult when going to the dentist. Jaclyn is awesome and always seems to find a way to squeeze me in when I take too long between visits. This week I had some tooth pain while on vacation, I got in the day after I returned, and after a quick x-ray I was referred out to have a tooth removed. The referral place was great because they were able to see me same day, but the environment was not near as friendly as Cusp and I waited over 2 hours past my appointment time before I was seen. Jaclyn also called me about an hour after my tooth was pulled to check on me, the oral surgeon's office neglected to go that extra step. I honestly feel like Dr. Younan has a plan to keep my teeth healthy, and not treating me like a time slot to make money. read more

Dr Malarky is awesome! The staff is friendly, facilities are clean and they do a great job with teeth. I've been to a few bad dentists over the years, but the hygienists and Dentist really put me at ease. I have receding gum lines from years of clenching my teeth at night plus extra sensitivity in those areas. Every time I go in, extra care is taken with my teeth sensitivity and the cleaning is adjusted according to those needs with room temp water and less aggressive scraping. The technology in the office also seems to be the latest and greatest in dentistry. I will continue to go here as long as I live in Chicago and highly recommend others to do the same. read more

I've been a patient of Dr. Younan for the last 7-8 years and I feel very well cared for. She is very personable and professional. Her new Lakeview office is beautiful. modern and clean. Administrative staff are very helpful and friendly. Not many people look forward to going to the dentist - let me relieve your fears. Dr. Younan has a very gentle approach and I've never had a negative experience with her. I also really appreciate how Dr. Younan is not sales-y or greedy. She has never recommended unnecessary procedure to me. I did need to get an implant a few years ago and Dr. Younan provided great information about this procedure and recommended an excellent oral surgeon to me. My treatment on that procedure was very cohesive between Dr. Younan and the oral surgeon. I highly recommend Dr. Younan to anyone looking for a new dentist. read more

"but i don't liiiike going to the dentist" no, stop, you're wrong. this place is GREAT. i was one of those people who went to the same dentist from birth to 20yo and had a whooole slew of issues, which led to dreading my semiyearly checkups & countless ortho visits. long story short, i'm SO happy i found cusp dental - they're always able to work with my schedule & the cleanings are lowkey enjoyable. dr. mullarkey is a QUEEN & the rest of the staff is A+! a couple weeks ago, the "permanent" wire on the back of my teeth popped off & cusp was able to fit me in the same afternoon to get it glued back on. and just my luck, i lost insurance a couple weeks prior (whaddup 26?!), but cusp gave me a very fair price for the repair & i was in&out in 10mins. 11/10, would recommend. read more

This is one of the best dentists I have ever been to! Since moving to Chicago, we have been struggling to find good, comprehensive dental care. Everyone in the office was very friendly and the place was beautiful. Dr. Younan discussed the details of my dental exam with me including how my diet was affecting my teeth. She sent me home with a folder of my X-rays and pictures as well as some literature on dental care. I am very happy with Cusp and will be visiting them again in 6 months! read more

I have hated the dentist since I can remember and I have had a handful of dentists. For a moment in my early twenties I thought I found a great dentist but she turned out to be... ok at best. Dr. Sandra Younan deserves the best dentist in the world award!!! She made me feel very comfortable, I felt like I could speak to her easily and thus relay any concerns I had. When I needed a root canal ugH!!! On the same tooth I had already had a root canal she referred me to an equally awesome endodontist. My visits where always pleasant from the people, to the work I had done. I no longer live in Illinois and am on the hunt for a new dentist but I doubt anyone will compare to Dr. Younan.
