I went in to fix a chipped tooth and get a cleaning and left very happy with how I was treated at Dental Options. My tooth was fixed quickly and as part of a general checkup I had Xrays taken when my doctor noticed I had impacted wisdom tooth (never had them removed). She offered to schedule me with the surgeon to have it removed. I wasn't pressured to have them all removed (as I've heard many of my friends have at other offices) and was even encouraged to leave my other ones until/unless they started bothering me. I was taken aback by the honesty (especially given some of the horror stories you hear from other dentists) and I appreciate them not trying to milk me and my insurance! The office itself was clean and the staff friendly. Even though things are busy at this office, I didn't feel rushed by the doctor or assistants and they took the time to answer all the questions I had. If you're a bit apprehensive about going to the dentist (as I am), these folks will put you at ease. Either they changed things around since the other reviews were left or the other reviewers are being way too harsh, but I had a very positive experience here and would highly recommend Dental Options. read more

What I'm mad about is having been told I would get a free cleaning if I signed up for some in office plan, signing up, then being told I DO NOT infect get a free cleaning. And when I called to sort this out I was told they would look into it and call me back that day. They never called so I called back two weeks later. At this point they put me on hold.. forever. Update during Covid times....I feel really safe with everything they did for safety, I received all paperwork to complete in my phone, got text one hour before appointment advising to text back when ready to come up from the parking lot, my temperature was checked as soon as I got there and they got me right in. I am a difficult patient, I get very very anxious when it comes to the dentist, so I was definitely shaking in my seat from the moment I sat down. I've been coming here for years. Ms. Sheila is absolutely amazing. She's very precise with her work. Not only does she do a fabulous job cleaning, but she actually grades my work. Each time I leave with instructions on which parts of my mouth to target. It's great!!! If you come, you have to ask for her. I also had my wisdom teeth removed by Dr. Crosby. She did a very good job as well. One tooth was impacted, and when other doctors said I'd lose the teeth in which my wisdom teeth was impacted, Dr. Crosby was able to get it out. I had a root canal (sp) on the next teeth and all is well. They were also able to salvage that teeth. They truly care and do an amazing job!! read more

As a new patient at any business you want to feel value, today I felt value. Am a new patient at Dental Option on Biscayne. I had went to this office to get an examination and on that same day I did my first deep cleaning on my right side of my upper and lower gums, that day was fine. The second visit was horrible after my second deep cleaning on the left side of my upper and lower gum. It was rough and painful and I had a serious scare because I had a mix of pigment and bruise which I never notice pigment in my inner lips prior to any visit. Long story short, I was contacted by Maria who is the Office Manager, she took my concern and my experience serious. I met her today for the first time, she made sure I had a second opinion with a Very nice experience Doctor. I knew that there can be bruising because your hygienist had to open your mouth in all angle. I alway appreciate honesty and this was what I receive today. I hope my new doctor continue to be honest, fair and kind. I hope that the more I visit this office the better result and goal for my mouth and less money to waste happens in the near future. I've never felt compelled to write an awful review of a service or place until now. I don't want to sound completely biased so I will say that whenever I was actually at the dentist, they were very friendly and professional. I never had an actual problem with the dentists themselves, but more with the receptionists and the process of getting my insurance verified. There is a huge lack of professionalism from the receptionists, who while they are very nice, only called me back about 2 of the 12 times they said they would. Then, I was told that since my insurance was taking so long to get verified that I could get my cavities filled in and after, if my insurance was verified, my insurance would be billed and I wouldn't have to pay for whatever was covered. Lo and behold, it takes a month for my insurance to be verified for some reason...and guess what? I am told that they cannot bill my insurance since my cavities were filled before my insurance was verified. I obviously would've waited had I known this, but I was misinformed and am now stuck with a $500 bill instead of a $10 co-pay. They said they could do nothing about it. read more

This is a corporate style dental facility not like having a personal family dentist. Very big overhead expense for the owners. They focus strictly on expensive treatment remedies. If you have full dental insurance or not responsible for paying the bills you may get adequate treatment. Partial insurance, deductible coverage and low income budget categories will not get relief at Dental Options Inc. Disregard their scare tactic sale pitch to influence you into the high priced remedies. Analogous to a car dealer's service dept repairs which are double/triple independent shops. read more

I have been going here for about two years and although I thought my dentist was pretty good the rest of the staff seemed untrained and useless. Every time I went there a different group of people were there so they never recognized me. They had a different hygienist every time for cleanings and they all seemed to be in a hurry. Finally I decide to change dentist and I call to get my X-rays I am promised an email of a release document. Of course it doesn't arrive so I call back and request that they prepare them for pick up the next day. I was in total pain with a bad wisdom tooth. Scheduling was quick and just as easy as the tooth was removed. The front desk staff is EXTREAMLY courteous, efficient and nice. I have been going to DO for a couple years now and have not seen nor experienced the horrible situations I have read here. Certainly not the place I went to and I just went there two days ago. The staff and doctors are very pleasant, professional and helpful. As one writer pointed out; there is a lot of activity but it never seems rushed or chaotic. I do not wait long to see my hygienist and she is always helpful to point out areas that need attention - which isn't much. One thing I do not like that many offices do is to up sell by suggesting more cleaning visits when twice a year will suffice, but they do take "no" for an answer. DON'T GO HERE! I had just been to a very expensive dentist to have a cleaning done and he told me I had a cavity that needed to get fixed. Dental Options was close by and less expensive to have the cavity filled but when I called to have the appointment made they told me I'd have to pay for xrays again even though I knew the exact tooth (number and all) that needed to be fixed. So then they offered me a $59 special that covered xrays and a cleaning. I told them I had just had a cleaning, so they said they would honor the cleaning at a later time. Now I called back to have the cleaning done, and they went through a million excuses on why they would not honor the free cleaning. First they said it was because the $59 deal was only for first time patients and I had been there before. Well if that was the case why would they have offered me the special? Then they said it was because too much time had gone by since my last cleaning. They never told me I had to come back within a certain amount of time but logic would follow that if this deal was only for first time patients, why would not having come back soon enough apply?? They finally told me they would give me the free cleaning if I paid them a bunch of money for the dentist to sit down with me. Well then it's not a free cleaning is it?!? After that when I asked the receptionist for their address and suite number to give them a bad review I was put on hold for 20 minutes. I hung up and called back and asked for the address again. The woman put me on hold and then hung up. I have to explain that I needed their address and suite number because there are many other dentists in the same building and wanted to make sure to review the right one. I called back a third time and asked for the address again and the woman on the phone started screaming at me and was completely unprofessional. After looking at the other review I understand this is common practice for them and would never go back there again. read more

I almost fell for their attempt to get me into a major surgery, priced at over $7500 (i have their written quotations) that was at the very least questionable if not downright unnecessary. Luckily I started feeling uncomfortable when I saw that the treatment coordinator changed three times in very rapid sequence forcing me to deal with a different person every time. In the end they crowned this performance by suggesting I first get 3 teeth extracted on the top left of my mouth ( which was going to leave a huge visible gap) and then discuss the price again from this new extremely vulnerable position. When I indicated that this approach was difficult to trust for me, the office replied that all they could do was ask the owner of the practice ( a dr. Gordon if I remember correctly) to contact me directly but I never heard from her even though i keep getting reminders for check ups and cleanings. This is a fairly large practice and one of the doctors i dealt with, actually seemed competent. I think the problem lies with management and transpired also through small incidents like the young assistant being scolded in public for sitting me in the chair without making surethe admins had gotten hold of my credit card. I am the first to recognize that businesses need to be profitable but this shouldnt come at the expense of providing quality medical care. So, after a few months of this I went shopping again and I am very pleased with the practiceI work with today. They seem to be very competent and are without doubt, much less predatory read more

If you are looking for a personal experience this is not the place for you. I have never seen the same dentist twice, and they have the nasty habit of charging you despite what your insurance says. It has been a frustrating experience for me because I am not a fan of dentists and having received services from this organization, I know why. I am tired of having to argue about what I should and should not have to pay for (I have insurance and my insurance agrees with me as I will be filling a grievance against this organization). I will never go back to this dentist. I am truly disappointed. I will be looking for a new dentist and a better experience. Please note that you may want to become a billing and coding specialist before you enter the office and a master of your own insurance information or better have an attorney at hand. This dental office is a complete joke. The staff is full of complete unprofessional young people who do not know how to communicate. I was scheduled for my 6month cleaning and was actually booked for a service I didn't even request. Thank god I asked how much was the service for when I realized I was in the process of getting X-rays. I do not have insurance as most people do not, and do no appreciate to encounter cost I wasn't expecting. So disappointing. They refused to give me my cleaning until I pay for the extra services. The office has changed and for the worse. I made an appointment to have a cleaning and was told I needed an exam first. OK , I agreed. The dentist came in after the x-rays and said " I am recommending you for a deep cleaning" . I will send in Daniel (who is the Director of programs or some such thing) to give you a price . She came in and I explained that I thought deep cleaning would be good later but just now I wanted a cleaning. She then said "our policy is that if you are recommended for a deep Cleaning we won't do a cleaning. " Really and you call your office "general Dentistry" ... change that to "our way or the Highway" Really talk about high pressure to "up-sell" ! I said that my insurance will not pay for deep cleaning and I just wanted a cleaning to day . She refused , so I took off the bib and walked out. I would not recommend this office. I would also note that it seems the office personal , whom I had positive experience with in the past , has changed. It really felt like a very high pressure sales "job" Have had less pressure when buying a car ! How can you have a policy that does not take care of patients ! no real explanation but their POLICY ! Let me sign a waiver saying I understand that I should have deep cleaning. I can't believe that this office had the Gaul to respond the way they have in other reviews... It would seem that they only treat "healthy Gums " ! they should be reported on ethics at least. Please do not embarrass your self and your staff by responding to this. This is the most conniving office I have ever had the displeasure of going to. I went in for the listed net special of a consult, xrays and cleaning for $59.00- They never performed a cleaning and took only 2 xrays! The entire visit was 3.5 hours long!! They honored the so called special only to bitch slap me with a totally unexpected cost of 250.00 for impressions that they assure you are necessary!! Only they never tell you the cost up front and you can't leave without paying after they took the impressions. They then offered to get back to me with a quote within one week. After the first week, I get a call from the rude, arrogant office manager who insists that I must now come back in for additional xrays and yet another consultation. The woman who called me after the office manager refused to offer a quote due to 'we need more xrays and another consult' was just as rude. This office is a sad pathetic excuse to take your insurance and money. So not worth your time nor your teeth no matter how difficult your case may be. Stay away. read more

I've never written anything before on a review site but my disdain for my visit 5/6/16 demands I comment on the HARD SELL and poor service I received. As a first-time patient with good insurance permitting two annual cleanings, exam, x-rays, and $1000 in extras I reserved for a cleaning, initial x-rays and exam. Once in the chair for a full hour I got the HARD UPSELL for more x-rays, deep cleaning, cancer screening and other work that was not covered by insurance including $314 for deep cleaning that was reportedly necessary that day. I was given the hard sell by an attendant, by Dr. Gordon, an office money manager who came to m chair wielding a chart of fees) , and lastly the hygienist. When I did not accept the UP-sells - and after being intimidated to sign a blank 'decline' authorization form (I demanded they fill out the form before I would sign - only an idiot would sign a blank form) I signed off on that, and the cancer screening for $65 too, and was whisked by Vanessa the hygienist at 1034am from one room to the next for my cleaning. At 1052am I was pronounced FINISHED WITH MY CLEANING and escorted out to schedule my next appointment. Allowing two minutes to change rooms my cleaning took 14 minutes and I brought this up to the hygienist who said 'oh, it was longer than that." But I insisted no as I sent a text message to a friend saying "still waiting after 64 minutes in the chair") and showed it to the hygienist and the present time on my phone. Forget it, I was off her radar at this point. Without snaring me into the hundreds of dollars in extras it was the distinct 'get this person out the door." I'm 60 and have had a lifetime of cleanings and all have been 50-60 minutes in length. This office is clearly the equivalent of a dental puppy mill - crank people in, provide minimum service, extract maximum payment from insurance and the patient, and move on. This office does dentistry a terrible disservice. I'm signing my name and time of appointment to underscore the importance of an accurate reflection on my experience for others.
