The only downside is that the tables and dining area are on the smaller side. Since the sauce bar is self-serve but you have to order your vegetables and sides separately, our table filled up quickly with everything needed for our party of four. So my viet boyfriend is against eating hot pot out because its so good at home. This place changed his mind because they have pho broth unlike most places, and because all of our broths were very well made. Super fun place to go with a group of friends. We made a reservation. If you get the szechwan pepper broth or the denver broth, be prepared for that numbing feeling the peppers can give to you. Also make sure to check spice levels if you are sensitive. The ingredients come out fresh and plentiful for a good price and you can get icecream after which is such a nice balance. I enjoyed trying the pumpkin in my broth, and I liked making my own sauce but ordering the veggies and meats instead of getting up to refill them like most other hot pot places. Only food critique is that the oysters are extremely fishy so do not get them. Like really... dont get them. Service is great, they do not hover. Make sure you know what you want. Decent hotpot restaurant. The seating area a big and clean. A few TVs playing several stations, so you can watch it if that's your thing. Service was really good. The waiter was really nice and tried to get our requested items fast. Personally, I didn't like the broth. I had the pork bone broth and it came seasoned, after I got my sauce ready to prepare the broth. On top of that, the food tasted sweet and oily. I thought it was the meats and my sauce but I didn't use any sugar. It has to be in the broth. My wife got the seafood broth but she asked for i different one, because it was too spicy. Another hot pot location! Let's give it a try! Big parking lot, it's shared with all surrounding businesses and that includes Great Wall Supermarket and Costco so plan accordingly. When you first walk-in you have the option of doing hot pot only or hot pot and kbbq. We had a party of 6 so we did get seated at a table that does hot pot and kbbq. The staff was not very attentive. It took about 15mins before we decided to wave them down just to take our order. When the broths did arrive they accidentally brought me the incorrect one. I told them what I ordered and he said he would be right back. The rest of the food started to arrive and still no broth... after 20 minutes we looked around and flagged down another waiter. Told him I was waiting on a broth and it was brought out within minutes. The overall flavor of the broth was ok. Nothing special. The meat, sea food, and veggie options were lacking in my opinion for the price. A lot of options were standard to all hot pot places so I was a little baffled by the price being so high. Their sauce station was pretty cool. They have small ladles to help get the food out of the soup and plenty of sauce options. Ok. Wasn't expecting much from this place since it's hot pot and bbq all you can eat. I'm like no way can this place offer a good variety. Boy was I wrong. The servers don't really tell you how to turn on the grill or the hot plates but that's ok. They also don't communicate that there are silverware, different sauces, and toppings at a nearby table. We figured it out while looking around. Once we got our order I was floored. They really need to put what each order's serving size is (ie clams. Print out "8 mini clams is an order"). A lot to like and a lot of opportunities for improvement. First, they have a pho broth for hot pot. They have a good sauce bar with a black bean chili paste that I like. There were also some fried items like egg rolls and chicken wings included, but I didn't try that. You can do both hot pot and bbq for $5 extra. The selection was pretty good with everything you'd expect at hot pot bbq spots. Quality was mostly good. Being a new spot, they have some kinks to work out. The ventilation was pretty bad. You and your clothes will definitely smell like hot pot when you leave. The floors were super slippery from the steam and oils, and was visibly dirty. They have you order on a sheet, with reference to a picture menu, but the items aren't the same. They didn't bring out items we ordered on the sheet, and when putting in a second round of orders, they just took it verbally and also got those items wrong. This is viet inspired so don't expect like a traditional kbbq experience. For hot pot, I ordered the beef bone broth and it was quite tasty. It tastes just pho broth. We were confused at first because it came with dates but it's not the herbal selection. When you start cooking things into your hotpot, the broth becomes very tasty. They provide a nice selection of variety: meat, seafood, veggies, noodles. They do not tell you how much comes with one serving so ask. It comes with a ton of veggies. They might've assumed 1 cabbage was for our entire party. The bbq was delicious too. You have lots to choose from. Friday night 6pm. Staff were sitting outside having cigarettes and coffee. It was empty with only one table. But we are hungry so decide to try it. AYCE hot pot only for both of us. There were out of crab and clam. I had the spice and wife had the bone broth. The broth was pretty good. There are many side dressing for you to mix. But I wish they put it higher since when you grab the sauce your face is directly over it. Meat was ok but the beef tasted weird after you boil it. The shrimp was fresh but the small clam looks like it has been sitting around for a while since all of it is wide open. Heard mixed reviews about this new hotpot so I had to try it for myself. If you don't come early, the Wiat is insane. Let's start off with the service, this is something then need to focus on esp when it's busy. If you don't wave down servers or for any help they will ignore you. They just take your order, don't answer questions or tell you there's an area where they have wings and potstickers that is self serve. I didn't try because one I didn't know and two Inever saw them fill it up so I'm not sure how long they been sitting in the food warmer. Another miscommunication is we had no idea the spoons, chopsticks, utensils, plates bowls are also self serve. Everything is right by the sauces you make yourself. Which is great they have a lot great choices to create your own sauce, but the bottles need labeling. But this should help with service and be able to attend to their guest more since we have to get everything but the food ourself. There is also a button at the table to call for the server and that does not work. When you first enter the restaurant, I loved that there's a double door to help keep the cold air out of your sat near the door, but I wonder if it'll get too hot in the summer time. Love the big tv they have, I would say if they get more tvs that would be the difference between this hotpot and the others. Being able to watch sports while eating is the main question we ask if there is a big game on. For all you can eat for their price it is worth it. If you upgrade for Korean bbq it's an additional $5 doallars. We moved to try it and honestly it was not worth it. The Korean bbq was not good. Very disappointing- meat had no flavors, very bland. For 5 extra, it's okay but I would just focus on the hotpot. They have a lot more choice with the broths- so I do need to come back and try them out and see what I like best. We were excited when this place opened up because bbq and hot pot are our two fav things! We came hungry and hopeful since this place is AYCE. (All you can eat) and while it's a great concept, I feel like some things definitely missed the mark. We were each handed paper sheets to order from, which is common for hot pot places like this and made our selections. They also had picture menus which was helpful too! The two areas that fell short were really the food and the service. While they had a messy sauce bar, it still had a great selection of stuff to make your sauces with! However, every time we ordered stuff we would typically get random items that we didn't order even if we filled it out on the paper and some of our items didn't arrive. The quality of the selections were also just okay, nothing really that stood out compared to other AYCE hot pot or bbq places and honestly, I would opt out of choosing to pay additional to try the BBQ because it wasn't anything special and were mostly similar items to the hotpot. The broths for the hotpot selections were all too sweet as well. The service was just honestly lacking because we wouldn't get stuff we asked for and just get completely random items sometimes and when we were done with the meal we told our waitress we were ready for the check, and she said ok but completely ignored us so we had to ask someone else after waiting for a while. We never got water either and had to flag someone down to just bring some waters. Meh. Service is so slow & not great, I shouldn't have to flag anyone down constantly. The chicken wings in the warmer were gross and cold. The soups for the hot pot have a ton of stuff in them already for example the seafood one has clams, fish balls, lobster balls, mussels which have been in the soup for who knows how long. Tables are community table so you're sitting next to people which is fine but since the wait staff doesn't come to pick up my waste plates, those are spilling over into the seats next to me. Wow. This is such a nice change for hotpot as it edges towards a Vietnamese flavor profile. They offer interesting broth choices like Pork Bone Broth, Beef bone, and dark chicken. We opted for the pork bone broth and Tom yum. Both were excellent and fragrant. The bone broth tastes like Hu Tieu Broth, which was very comforting. The seafood and meats are fresh and flavorful. Ok, so ive come here about three times once with a close friend the second with a big group and third tonight on my own. Only when i come here with a big group do i notice a change in pace of service. The workers are all great and friendly, but there seems to be too few staff to get anything out to your table or even take your order? Terrible tasting soup base for hot pot. Then when we asked for a different flavor, they wanted to charge more. We decided against paying more for bad tasting food. We tipped the server $2 for bad service and the server fraudulently added $12 for tip. We reported them to the bank. Not a good way to run a business. read more
