Awesome burgers and the best chicken noodle soup in the area. It's a typical dive bar with great service and great food..

This was last night at Depaulo's in Arbutus!! Joyce was our waitress and a great one.

Great burger .... Fries cold sitting in the window all night .... No fork or knife I asked for fresh fries and no questions about it and they were brought out .....if utensils and condiments was all there ready when meal came out with fresh fries ... it could have received a 4-5 ........

This bar is always packed with UMBC students and your local Arbutians. If you're not from the area, you might feel a little out of place when you first walk in, but have no fear, the staff is very welcoming. You really can't go wrong with the food here. They have a variety of flavors for their wings, and the mozzarella sticks are extra stretchy (see photos). I also hear that the burgers are the best in town. If you ever catch me eating fried food and washing it down with an ice cold beer, please... don't tell Tammy. Check this place out for food, drinks, and some good ol' fashion trivia (on Wednesday's)! Pro tip: if you park in the back, don't pay the meter (I've never gotten a ticket lol) - VVP

One of the coolest burgers ever... Pretty innovative for sure. Must be a half pound burger and has DePaolas branded on the top. I tried the deep fried burger and it was quite tasty. Do yourself a favor and stop up and try one and work from there!

For all my Retrievers at UMBC, and others around their area, this place is worth going to for the cheap appetizers and wings. The food, especially the burgers, are very good, and they have good drink deals during happy hours. The one thing that I do not enjoy is the slow service can make you a little hangry, so advise you to go on a patient night when you're trying to throw a few back and have a chill night. They sometimes have good trivia and karaoke nights. Peep the pics to see the dank food that will definitely make you feel chunky and happy after. ...are YOU gonna eat that?? c('o'c)

This was my first time here, I came for the karaoke. (I know the host) upon entering I noticed the warm red on the wall and dark wood. It felt cosy. There is even a couch in the corner. Bar section is separate from the low tables but not in a detached way. Good first impression. The waitress was super friendly and accommodating. (i tend to be picky) I got the cheese steak and a tequila Caesar salad. Yummy! Huge cheese steak sub. The bf got a pulled pork sandwich and fries. He seemed very happy. (it only lasted a few minutes before it was devoured) :) we will come back! It is also family friendly and plan to bring my son another night to sing a song. Nice crowd for a Thursday night.

Service is terrible and the last time I ate breakfast there I had mold on my toast. Place was better when Twilley and Mikey worked there.

This is a great little small town bar. Amazing burger selection that is well priced, and even better on Tuesdays when it is Burger Night.

    Do they serve breakfast?

They don't! If you are in the area though and want a good breakfast place I recommend Duesenberg's American Cafe and Grill!

A lively dive bar with almost nightly live-music…read more I used to frequent Morsberger's in the old days. Now it's a brighter livelier place, still showing off it's divey decor. You can enter on Main Street, or from the back patio. For the full dive-effect, I like to come directly from the old iron staircase in the back, halfway up to the patio, past the original tiny old restrooms and the ice machine. (There's nicer restrooms on the performance / pool-table side.) I looked in on the pool-table side where bands play regularly. There's seating there for around 30, mostly used when bands are playing or by pool-players or when the bar side is full. There's some benches out on the patio for warmer weather and for smoking. The walls are covered with old rock memorabilia, and i love the bar side where there are old albums on the ceiling too! Plus a collection of old stuff over the years that defies description. The bar seats maybe 15. I always sit on the bar side, where it's usually dimly lit. You can get basic mixed drinks and some premium spirits, and plenty of varieties of beers, some craft, some old regulars. They have a small kitchen, too. I usually just get a cold Natty Boh and watch some sports on their several tvs, or talk to anyone I know, or anyone who happens to be nearby. This time i got there on a Thursday after 5 and it was pretty quiet, between the regulars who finish around 4pm and the music-lovers who come after 6 or 7. This time I was one-and-done. I've been here for some rock, and mostly for a more Catonsvillian variety of punk and metal, sometimes every night!, though usually not Mondays. Sometimes there's a cover. It's usually good bands, with a lively crowd, some from the nearby college. There's a small number of parking spaces straight out back, only on their side of the alleys, and leaving the spaces behind the deck for the apartments to the east. The out-front street parking is pay at-the-meter or by-app during Mon-Sat 8-6, and otherwise free.

I have been going to GL Shack off and on since the early 2000's. The quality changed during covid,…read moreso I started only focusing on shrimp, wings, burger, and their salads. Over the last few years their side salad went from having bacon and eggs to just lettuce , a couple carrots shavings, two sliced tomatoes and maybe two or three cucumbers. Saturday I was craving a steak and traffic was so backed up going to the restaurant I was originally going to, that I instead decided to just go somewhere close to my house. Upon sitting down I was told they has a berry mojito special so I ordered. It was not good so I only had two sips. Next I ordered the sirloin dinner that was on special. As soon as the sliced steal was placed in front of me I knew it would not be goid. It looked unappealing. Sort of like boiled meat instead of a grilled steak. I took a bite. It was so bad I asked for steak sauce. It was still horrible. I only ate two of the pre-cut slices and told the waitress it was by far the WORST steak I ever had and said I would have wings instead. The wings were good as always. This horrible meal ended up costing me $56 for the uneaten steak dinner, horrible mojito I did not drink, and the wings. The bartender was nice. I use to bartend and if I noticed a customer not drinking a drink I made, i would have asked if they wanted anything else, or I would have remade the drink. The bartenders were nice so I left an $8 tip . This ended up being the most expensive buffalo wings I ever had. I was exhausted after having a long work week and not having eaten breakfast or lunch so I just paid and left without complaining.

I went with the Half Soup/Half Sandwich combo, the Shrimp Salad Sandwich and the Ham & Navy Bean Soup was delicious. The shrimp salad was really good with big juicy shrimps; really well-prepared and seasoned perfectly. The soup had great flavor with way to much ham (yes I said, to much ham) I would loved to have more beans in the mix! My husband ordered the Shack Burger (medium rare with cheddar and bacon) and said it was a total winner. He loved the char-grilled flavor and said the patty was a great size. He did mention his hand-cut fries could have been a little hotter, but the texture and crispiness were spot on. We're already planning to come back to try other dishes, hopefully on a Monday to catch "Burger Day"!
