Downright awful! Told me I needed to change the motor on a brand new dishwasher that wasn't draining and would cost $300+. I don't think so! The technician never removed the dishwasher or any internal parts. He just fiddled with the hosing for a little bit, said I had debris in the hosing and spent most of the time on his phone surfing the Internet (said he was waiting for the water to drain out). He also asked for my WiFi password. Why doesn't a technician have mobile access to use his work iPad?! Avoid this scam of a company! Even if my dishwasher had a bad motor, spending half the time on the Internet is a major red flag. Run the other way folks! This as a total waste of time and money. read more

While attempting to install my new Nest thermostat, i managed to make my heater stop working entirely. I called multiple companies who wouldn't be able to arrive until the next day. It was 5:00 on a Friday and about to be the coldest night so far, dipping down in to the upper 20s. Luckily I found Dependable and within a few hours all was well! My technician was friendly and knowledgeable. Gary quickly identified the issue (blown fuse) and fixed me right up. This company deserves NO Stars actually. for the same call which has stretched this misery out for weeks and it continues still. I had an appointment 7/31/18 window of 8-12, they were a no show even though I received a robo confirmation call the day before. when I called to get an ETA, they informed me that the appointment was rescheduled for 8/3/2018 1-6, NO ONE bothered to call me and tell me this information. They did come within that 2nd window, only to have to come by because they had to order a part. I had robo confirmation as well as email confirmation of this appointment today, 1-6, I called just before 5 pm to check the eta of the tech. Same thing happened all over again, rescheduled with no notification, until next week!!!!! Really??? This happened twice? For a timer on a dishwasher? Really??? This company is anything but dependable, will never use them again and I highly suggest that you do not either unless you too want to be treated like this because the people I spoke to about this on the telephone truly gave me NO INDICATION that they were really going to make any effort to make it right. I find it ironic that this company calls itself dependable services, when it's anything but. In reading the reviews I realize I am not alone, I only wish I had read them before agreeing to have them attempt to fix my wine fridge. They were referred to me by the makers of my wine fridge, so I had them come out to give me a quote. They charged a diagnostic fee of 79.00 which would be used toward the repair. This seemed reasonable, so I went with it. The motherboard was fried, and would need to be replaced. Mike said he would have to call Summit to get the cost of the part, and call me back with a quote. The total came to approximately 400.00 less the 79.00 I had already paid. I said okay at which time he took a deposit of half for the cost of the part. I was told they would call me when the part came in. A couple of weeks went by and I heard nothing. I called them to inquire, and was told the part was there. We scheduled an appointment for a few days before thanksgiving. When Mike got here, he discovered that he did not have the right part. He verified the model and serial no. he used to order the part and they were correct. He said because it was right before thanksgiving, that we were priority, and that he would call Summit right away, and have them overnight the correct part so that he could have this done before the holiday. Thanksgiving came and went, and I heard nothing. A couple of weeks still nothing. Again I had to call them and inquire, only to find out that the part had never been ordered. They apologized yet again, and assured me the part would be ordered right away, and that they would call me as soon as it arrived. Another week or so went by, and again I called them, and was told the part was due to arrive Tuesday, and that they would call then to schedule an appointment. At this point I thought to myself if the part is due to arrive, why don't we go ahead and schedule the appointment now, but decided to play their game to see if in fact they would really call. As I suspected another week came and went with no phone call from UNDEPENDABLE SERVICES. I called the following week, and spoke with Michael Cross, the or one of the managers. By this time as you can imagine, I was livid. I requested a full refund including the diagnostics fee. I was told it would be credited back to my card within 3 to 5 business days, the only thing they said that they actually lived up to. There was no attempt by Michael Cross to apologize, or to do anything to try to rectify the situation. In fact he copped an attitude, and acted as if I were being unreasonable. I then asked to speak with the owner, I was put through to his voice mail. I left a message for him to return my call, when he didn't, I called ,and left another message explaining that I wanted to offer him the opportunity to rectify the situation before I wrote bad reviews about his company on every website I could possibly find. Oh, and in case you're wondering, I'm still waiting for him to return my call. I think that goes a long way in saying how much Donald Harris cares about the way his company operates. We called these folks to replace a door seal on a washing machine, they told us it would be 3-7 days to get the seal in so a week went by and no call from them. We called them back and they said they would have the part in a few days. another week went by and no call from them. We called them again, and they told us that they would install the door seal on a certain Friday. That certain Friday came and went no call from Dependable Services. We got in contact with Hand S Appliance Repair, got a quote for the repair right away, got the part in 1 business day and it was installed the same day as the part arrived. I do not think I will ever call or refer any one to use Dependable Services they seem to be Undependable. read more

Not trustworthy. I needed my washing machine repaired prior to taking a vacation the following week. On Wednesday 03/27/19 a tech came out to my home and determined the part I needed would have to be ordered. I was assured they would have the part on Friday 03/29/19 and would be installed that day. On Friday morning a tech comes out but has the wrong part. He says he's going back to get the right part. The tech comes back but has another wrong part. He goes out to his truck and calls the office and comes back to tell me they will have to order the part and wouldn't get it until after I've left for my trip. I told him that was not acceptable and was calling his office to discuss the matter. While on the phone with the office voicing my thoughts about the matter, the tech leaves my home without saying a word. I approached Dependable about reimbursement for laundromat fees that would be incurred due to their error, they adamantly refused and took offense to the fact that I was calling it their error. I then questioned them about the part and the fact that this is the Atlanta metropolitan area with part warehouses dotted across the metro. I was then told that the part I needed could not be located in the Atlanta metro area or in the state of Georgia for that matter. I called their bluff and asked for the part number. After much hesitation and dragging of feet to give me the part number, they finally relented and gave it to me. I immediately did a search of appliance part supply businesses in the metro area and the first business I called located in Smyrna had two in stock. I immediately called Dependable and relayed that information to them and they turned around and called that business, had them hold one, and had the tech go by and get one. The tech came back to my house and installed the part later that afternoon. Do not put your trust in them, they lie. What made this whole event even worse was that this vacation was for me and my family to get away and clear our heads after the recent passing of my father, and Dependable knew this, that's how heartless they are. read more

Make sure you know what you are getting into before using this service. My bad for not getting an estimate before hand. Made an appt online based on how long they had been in business and that they serviced my brand of ovens! All I needed was two new seals that with the right tool anyone could have installed! When the serviceman called to say he was on his way he asked if anyone had given me an estimate for the job? I said no. When he arrived he told me that replacing both of my seals on the ovens which took approx 15 minutes would cost me $332.82! Had I not been selling my home I would have stopped there. He then tells me they base it on the job not by the hour! So approximately $110. for parts and roughly $223. for labor and showing up! Talked with company after serviceman left and they tell me that service people do the pricing! Ridiculous! How can one run a business this way. Stay far away! read more

I own an appliance service company in Orlando, but my girlfriend lives in Atlanta, so when her refrigerator broke I went off a referral to give Dependable a call. Dependable came out the same day and repaired the leak in the refrigerator. The tech was clean, presentable, knowledgeable, and the services were affordable. Would highly recommend them. read more

Dependable installed a furnace for us in May and when we turned it on it leaked gas. They could not find the leak after 3 appointments, that we had to be home for, and we had to have the heat turned off for 2 days in November . They had to replace the new furnace as it was so poorly installed and damaged. They did replace the NEW furnace but it cost us $155 for the gas leak to be corrected and they would not cover that cost though their technicians could not find the problem and they were the one's that caused the problem. I will not use them again and definitely would not recommend this company. read more

Dependable came out to fix my stove and replace a faulty recalled Bosch dishwasher power cord at the beginning of May, perhaps end of April. They gave me a 5 hour window from 1-6pm that I had to be at home. They ordered the parts needed and took a 50% payment. All pretty standard, I again had to take a day off work on May 16th when the part had finally come in for both. It so happened they had the wrong part for the stove top and there was a burn on the Bosch dishwasher cord, so the tech left to 'order the right parts'. In the last two weeks I've called Dependable twice, they asked me to call Bosch to get the part - I did, Bosch shipped it to them. They called me last week to say the they had the right parts and booked a 5 hour window again today June 3rd. I called them twice to see where the tech was, first time I was told we were next. Second time I called they said 'he'd searched his van and couldn't find the parts'. This is the 3rd half day I've had to take. I asked to speak to a manager at 4pm on a Friday and was told they had all gone home. I asked if one could call me back and was told they'd be in 7am Monday. So I've had zero dishwasher or stove for over a month and the lady at Dependable said they'd be 'getting back in touch with Bosch to resend the part'. I actually really like the technician, but he needs to get with a different company. This has been TERRIBLE service and anything but Dependable. If you gonna put that word as your name, you better live up to it. read more

We have a Liehberr refrigerator that has a poorly designed icemaker. We have had to have broken trays replaced every 6 months for years. I called Dependable after losing confidence in our old service provider. They replaced the tray again and it failed within 6 weeks. They came back, installed another new one for free and may have actually fixed the problem that was causing the trays to fail after investing a good bit of time with Liebherr tech support. The company is on-time, communicates well and the techs are very well trained. I think we've found our new service company. read more

I joined Yelp just to share this experience and warn people away. My new-ish AGA Marvel oven stopped working on one side. I was recommended to call Brannon, who sent out a repair technician who diagnosed the issue as a broken/faulty thermostat in the oven. I was charged roughly $90 for the visit to diagnose the problem, and quoted $488 to repair it ($400 labor and $88 for the part). That sounded wrong and I set up repairs with another company and got the replacement part from AGA directly. I learned from AGA that the part was actually $34, so Dependable marked the price up 250%. The labor I was quoted for the other company was $275. When the other company's technician came out he told me that Dependable had actually misdiagnosed the problem in the first place. It was a pinched/burnt wire. The thermostat was fine. The repairs ended up costing me less than $200 and I have a leftover thermostat. I brought the issue to Brannon's attention and demanded a refund of my $90 diagnostic visit in which they misdiagnosed the issue and then intended to seriously overcharge me for the work. No refund yet. Stay away. read more

This company was sent ,to repair an appliance, through the Lowes extended warranty service. If there was less than one star I would give them that rating. The appliance gave an error code,which the rep from Lowes looked up,on line, and determined the problem. However, when the Dependable Service tech arrived, he did not know anything about the error code. After calling Samsung , he determined he needed to order two parts,which he did.When he returned to install the parts only one part was installed and the tech stated ,"I ordered two parts,only one came". They tested and said the problem was fixed. I asked them about the other part and was told just to call if there was a problem.Needless to say,five days later ,the same error code appears and same problems occur. When I call ,they tell me I have to start the entire process ,with Lowes,over again.When I tell them about what their tech said about only receiving one part,they say they will ask him ,tomorrow,if he remembers what part was ordered.I tell them to just look it up online,it explains the problem and how to fix it,including what parts are needed. Two days later I call them back,tech has been out sick,and he will have to catch up on all his other service calls before he can get back to me. At this point we call our local Lowes and speak to an assistant store manager,asking for help. The next morning, I get a call from the tech wanting to come out and determine what part is needed. He calls Samsung again,orders part and tells me it will be there in about three days. Six days later I call Dependable again, they say they are waiting on approval from Lowes,and will call when they get approval.At this point it has been a month since I called to get service,call Lowes again,explain the problems we have had with this company,and tell them we don't want this company. They assign another company,who will come with the parts needed for the repair. Never heard anything from Dependable about the part awaiting approval. They were assigned by Lowes to repair another of our appliances a few years ago, and were unable to repair that appliance,too. read more

What a great company. Malcom was our service contractor for fixing our Sears Kenmore Elite washing machine. He was friendly, professional and honest. He came and diagnosed what part was broken and ordered it for us before he left the house and the part was delivered in two days. He came back and installed the part and the machine is like new! Highly recommend Malcom, he's very knowledgable. If we have problems in the future, we will definitely call Dependable Services again. read more

Rip Off. The technician said the circuit board on my 3 year old high-end range needed to be replaced, which would cost close to $1,000. He then recommended we just buy a new one. My Dad was able to get it to work by just opening the door during the reset cycle. The manager refused to refund the $90 they charged for doing nothing (they didn't fix it), and for giving bad advise (either pay $1K for a new circuit board or even more for a new appliance)! However in that 10 days my warrenty expired and they would not come back out and replace the part they put on 10 days earlier..they wanted me to pay for service call and the same part again..when I asked about the warrenty on the part they just put on they told me to call whirlpool! Terrible diagnostic skills. Only gave 1 star b/c you have to in order to post a review. Attempted repair to my Bosch fridge no less than 6 times and ran up repair charges amounting $500. Afterward, they claimed the unit is a lemon and needs to be replaced. Would not refund more than $150 of my money. Got a second opinion from and repairs were made by an actual Bosch Home Services technician (this is the Bosch repair division, actual Bosch employees) and it was just a faulty $100 fan motor. Problem solved, unit works fine ever since. Avoid Dependable, don't give them a dime. Also, these clowns are a Bosch authorized service provider on the Bosch web-site. Don't use them anyhow. You'll waste your time and money. How could they miss something that simple if they know what they are doing? read more

Zero Stars-When I first called they said it would that 3-7 days to get part for my washer-I called them after 7 days about 1100 am, Dependable said they would call me back in 20 minute, so before 5 pm that day I called them again-then they changed their story saying it would take 14 days to get part. After 14 days I called them again, asking about the part for our washing machine, and I also commented to them that in this day and age it shouldn't take 14 days to get a part. I also asked if this was really do able for them and assured me that it was and they would call me back. They did call me back and gave me a time and date they would come out to fix my washer. Well, the appointment was for Friday between 9am and 1 pm, so I took off work. I needed my washer fixed! I was tired of toting them to the laundry mat. Well I waited all day for the to come, from 9 am until 5 pm-Dependable NEVER SHOWED UP!!!!! I TOOK OFF A DAY OF WORK. THEY NEVER CALLED IN THE AGE OF CELL PHONES!!!!!!! So we call Hands Appliance Repair-Greg Hogan-770-688-5098 that Friday night-he called us back said he could get the pair by Tuesdays afternoon and be at our house by 3 pm to repair our washer. Brandy their dispatch technician is a compulsive liar. I placed a service call on Friday and I did not her from her until Tuesday when I contacted my warranty company. She lied, stating that she called my home and cell number, but I never received a single call from her. She agreed to have a technician come out on Thursday and the technician would call between 9:00 am and 9:30 am. At 10:30 I called my warranty company again and again she lied stating the technician called. I cancelled the service and 15 minutes later the technician shows up at my door. I'm not sure if the repair service is adequate, but judging the customer service I would not recommend this company to anyone. read more

We purchased 2 appliances from Lowes and when they needed repair under the warranty they used Dependable. The first issue was to fix our oven, which needed a new latch. Joseph from Dependable came out and cut the roof out of the oven and did not replace it correctly, causing a near fire in our house. Second issue was with the clothes dryer heating element out. This time Kelvin came out twice and Joseph a third time over a two week period and it still is not fixed. We have taken off work to meet these people who always showed up late and didn't have the right parts or equipment so had to reschedule. We spoke with the owner, Brannon, who constantly over promised and never delivered - he made it clear that he didn't care. For both issues, Lowes sent out J. Martin Appliance to clean up their mess. Don't make the same mistake we made twice - avoid Dependable Services - trust me there is nothing dependable about them. read more

This is one of the worst companies I've ever dealt with. Had a repair man out to take a look at my ice maker. He said the unit was working (which it obviously wasn't, or I wouldn't have had to call him). He somehow got the thing to work though, so I assumed all was good. Sure enough, a week later the ice machine stopped working again. I was traveling for work so I didn't have a chance to call the company to get someone back out there for about a month. They claim to "guarantee" their services for 30 days. This is false. I called about a month later and the manager refused to send someone out unless I agreed to pay the $80 "diagnostic fee." Since I already paid them $80 to come fix this problem once, I thought it was a little ridiculous that the they were trying to charge me again. Long story short, the manager could not have been more of jerk and in no way attempted to help me fix the problem I already paid them to fix. I highly recommend you stay away from this incompetent, insulting and iniquitous company. read more
