It's weird, I went here twice and the first time I loved it all so much that I gave it 5 stars, but I am editing cause last week I went again and ordered the same items and they were mostly horrible. The sweets are still some of the best I've tried, thier onion Kulcha bread is awesome.... But the other food was not right, the chicken tandoori was so overcooked I could've hurt my mouth on it, the aloo gobi had no sauce to it and tasted just really over spiced with pepper but lacking any other flavor, The green chutney was the worst most disgusting chutney ever , it tasted as sour as biting into a lemon.The service sucked, the food came fast but the waitress didn't write down our order and ended up forgetting the samosas and rice. I am giving it 3 stars because I really enjoyed it the first time so I am guessing the food is good at times and it just depends on who is cooking it that day, but I don't think I'll go back cause I hate when places are inconsistant with thier food. read more

Me and my family went to eat at this restaurant to have a fun time. It was a busy restaurant and we waited about 45 mins. One of the waiters came to us and said "we have 45 min to eat and leave". We said ok guess our 45 minutes r up and left after that comment. We went to the restaurant one block away named King Kabab. If I am the owner of this restaurant and read this review; you should teach the workers how to treat customers. We where not the only one that the waiter treated bad. Three other family too. They all left and followed us to the same restaurant. We spent $220 including tip. The other family were a bigger crowd and if you do the math thats about $800+ the restaurant lost in one hour. large space and very loud. cafeteria style ordering or you can be seated to have an overwhelmed waitresses serve you. the food is decent, but my father got food poisoning once and since then i never ate here again. my husband has eaten here on several occasions and he's been fine, but the food wasnt all that for me to risk another incident. the good thing is they do have parking. read more

Unfortunately one cannot select a level below a single (1) star else I would have surely picked that. Below par....way below par food. We ordered two types of Chicken Kababs and both were served under cooked. The goat paya (trotters) weren't cleaned properly. This place has gone down a lot over the past year. The old staff is gone and these new waitresses stand around and do nothing but talk to each other. My friend and i came in to the restaurant and had to call them 20 minutes after coming in to tell them we were ready to order. On top of getting one of the two orders wrong, the food turned out to be crap compared to how it was before. It smelled old and repulsive the only thing that saved the food experience was the kebab and naan. Then, after we finished eating, we waited for 25 minutes for someone to come and take our plates and give us the check and no one came. I then walked to the waitresses to ask them for it and they told me to sit down and they would get it. 10 minutes later i get the check and no one picks up the payment until i go to the cashier myself, and even then they insisted i wait. I spent more time there dealing with the waitresses then i did with food. The old girls were fast and provided perfect service, but these new ones are awful. My friend and i have been coming to this restaurant for the past 3 years and now we don't want to even talk about it. read more

I don't really get how people don't like the food here. it's not that dirty and neither are the waitresses maybe because its always crowded but trust me when i tell you, this restaurant has THE best food ever. It's heaven on earth. Halal meat, which is a plus & everything they made is good. There is not one thing in this restaurant that tastes bad. My personal favorite is Chicken Tikka Masala. OH MY GOD, i can't tell you enough how good there chicken tikka masala is. The last time i went we ordered it but we also ordered Karahi Gosht and i went with my mom and two other people, they all loved the karahi gosht but i only had the chicken tikka masala. i kept eating it and i had the whole thing, i could have more than 5 plates of CTM and i will still be hungry for more. Not to sound fat because im not but im only proving how good there CTM is. Definetely try it. Everytime i go there i always get CTM. they have everything you could imagine. This place was recommended from a family friend so we figured we'd give it a shot even though the yelp reviews were not that great. The food was mediocre at best and the service was poor. We never even recd the chapli kabob or extra naans we had ordered. The nihari as okay but lacking in salt. The bihari kabab was also decent at best and lacking a kick to make it stand out. Simple place, seems almost like a cafeteria, but with waitresses. Had the chicken haleem, seekh kabob, quail tandoori, goat pulao, and goat curry. First, be ready for the spiciness, but that should be expected. Thought the chicken haleem was great, even heated the next day. The seekh kabob was good. The goat pulao was solid, but the quail tandoori was dry and salty - it's tough when it's so small. It's probably safer to stick with chicken. However the winners were the goat curry and the naan - crispy, chewy, soft; just amazing. The decor is simple, the food is cheap, and the service was quick. Horrible horrible experience!! Zero stars....I ordered biryani and they sent over pulao instead....when I called them to let them know they incorrectly sent over the wrong item and therefore should either provide a refund or send the correct over....they said they ran out of biryani so decided to send pulao! Without even informing me! The pulao is a complete waste as no one eats that. They can't just decide to send over some other item if they run out of what the customer orders! I didn't spend money to get whatever was leftover in their kitchen! They completely disregarded my complaint on the phone and simply shrugged that there isn't anything they can do about it now. Their only offer was that I reorder more items (btw there's a delivery fee with ever order) and in my reorder they will include the biryani!! Just brought home samosa chaat and it has spoiled. Not only that, the shish kababs they took so long to give me were ice cold. I hatttttttteeeeeeee cold kababs. It takes the tandoor guy about 5-10 minutes to make fresh kababs and they just handed me cold and pre made kababs. This place always looks like they are so busy but their food is disgusting. One of my favorite Indian restaurants ! i love their chikcen Marsala and their garlic naan is amazing! Their service is also very fast and the waiters are very friendly. we had requested to have our chickeen tikka pieces to be cooked a bit more and they were so effecieint in doing so. My Father forced us to go to Jackson Heights to eat here. Now I'm a Pakistani-American (2G), and love my ethnic food, but I'm not crazy about going to Jackson Heights, when I can happily go to a nice ambiance and great flavoured restaurant in Manhattan like Pastis. When you get great home cooked Pakistani cuisine at home, why brave the mess that is Queens and the traffic to get there to eat? On top of it all, I had been fasting (it was Ramadan), and so literally starving. When my dad told me that despite his connections with the owners we had to wait like 30-45 minutes to eat! I was ready to kill somebody. Despite all this, I have to say that the food at this place was to DIE for! Especially the Nihari which is cheap at $8 a plate if you are a carnivorous Nihari lover, or like free at $5 since I actually prefer just the gravy anyway, can do without the beef! The service was excellent, the Nepalese waitresses are pleasant and attentive (well most of them anyway!). Despite all the pain and headache of getting to the bazaar (bizarre?!) scene of Jackson Heights, Dera has been a destination for me and my famioly ever since I tasted the Nihari. Its pretty good if you bring it home too, but not nearly as delicious as if you eat it there with the piping hot and delectable tandoori Naans. We had a bunch of items which were good, but all I need to eat at this place is the Nihari, and I swear I overeat everytime I go there since it is so friggin beautiful to the tastebuds!!! This is pretty much my go to spot in Jackson Heights. I reduced one star because I do wish the food wasn't microwaved when served. However, the chicken tikka/ chicken makhani is always good. Some of the entries during their lunch are old stuffs may be a more than couple of days. I ordered Ghost Kadhai and it was kind of semi stale. The meat lost it tastes and flavor and the gravy was semi stale. Their starters (kababs) were good although I found the salt content to be on the higher side. The staff were gentle and courteous but don't have much idea about the items on the menu card. read more

The service was sooooo bad today. We called ahead of time for a table and they said to come in they will have a table. We went in and they made us wait. Whatever that wasn't a problem, the problem was when it was time to sit the servers with their pink shirts were walking around with a snobby ass attitude. I have never dealt with a bunch of rude waitress in my life! We put the table together because they said they couldn't put a table for 15 together when we had called earlier for 20 and they said they can but 5 people weren't able to show up. I told the waitress that I had called for 20 and if all of my guests did Arrive then how would they seat us, she gives me a look and then walks away. Wtf. Then we get a shitty table and they start bring the food out, EVERYTHING out at once without plates spoons or anything. We had a small table so while they were bringing the food out my cousins and I were getting the plates that were empty so it's easier for them to put the other plates on the table, I pick a plate up to give the server and she rolls her eyes at me and grabs the plate. Umm excuse me are we not paying hundreds of dollars for your food right now I don't need your ass to roll your eyes . The food was mediocre and when I asked for the manager they said the manager wasn't there. How can the manager not be there. But whatever I'm never coming back here. Oh & when we got up to leave one server pushed me and said please move when she clearly had space to move. The worst experience and service! We're not unethical so we left a hefty tip because we weren't sure if they all share it and the ones who weren't rude shouldn't have to go home with less money. dear customers please read my comment . me and two of my friends one with his 7years boy went to have dinner in Dera restaurant . we order food . after 20 min they give us half of the food and was waiting for another half more then 25 min. when i was telling miss can i get our food. then a guy came out of the counter and cursing with us and saying shut up you will get your food when its ready and many other disrespectful words and also he did misbehave on the spot with us.we was wonder how come he work there. finally we have to leave without eating and he have us paid for that. i could say quality of food whatever but customer service horrible . no skill at all. thanks read more
