Dr. Weber always takes her time to answer my numerous questions and never makes me feel like I'm just a number to them. Sometimes they can be booked up for several weeks (that's why I'm giving them a 4 instead of a 5, although it's not any fault of theirs that they're so popular!). My fiance has been going to Dr. Scatena for about the same time as I've gone to Dr. Weber, and he's had much more to be done over the years. Same with Weber, Dr. Scatena answers all of our questions every time we go in, she lets me sit in the room during his procedures, is incredibly patient with me worrying about him, and ultimately makes me feel much more relaxed about the whole thing. My fiance and I have only ever been in for investigating moles/freckles and the like, so I can't speak to their other dermatology services like skincare, but I would still recommend them to anyone looking for a first-class dermatologist in Boulder.

I went in wanting a doctor's professional advice on how to care for my aging skin and at best, just agreed with what I asked her about. It's like I didn't interest her as a patient. I'll go elsewhere from now on to an office with a doctor who is interested in actively examining a patient's skin and recommending a course of action/treatment, be it for maintenance or targeted issues. If none of that sounds like a problem to you, do know that when I asked her medical assistant a question about the serum being applied to my face for after-care, the assistant didn't know and had to read the label. Also, as far as front desk help goes, way too many assistants that you get bounced around with, taking payment and shuttling you through. The biggest issue for me, though, is the doctor's lack of care/interest/ability to recommend anything.

After answering that question (with my concern about potential skin cancer) was I told that the doctors are not accepting new patients. I told the receptionist that it was strange to be asked what I'm interested in first, if the doctor is not accepting new patients. I asked if the answer would be different if I was interested in cosmetic services and she told me "yes". There would be a significant wait, but I could schedule for a cosmetic consult, and I could not have medical concerns addressed at such a visit. This told me everything I need to know about this practice. Skin cancer, which is potentially lethal, is not something they have time for - cosmetics pay much more.

After my appointment in January, I was initially told I would not receive a bill. A few months later, my credit card was charged $28, which was not an issue. However, when the charge appeared on my bank card, it showed up as "Boulder Valley Dental Office" rather than Boulder Valley Dermatology. Because the charge name did not match the provider I visited, I reasonably believed it could be fraudulent and reported it to my bank. I later spoke with Flora in the billing department, who explained that they are aware of this issue and have been trying to resolve it for over a year. I was also told this problem primarily affects customers using certain banks. Unfortunately, despite the confusion being caused by the billing descriptor, I was still charged a late fee. My original balance was approximately $28, but I recently received a bill for $63 due to added fees. While I appreciate Flora's assistance during our phone conversation, I was ultimately told by her supervisor that I was responsible for paying the full amount, which I did. I truly like the medical staff and the care I receive here, but this situation felt unprofessional and unfair. At a minimum, patients should be proactively warned that charges may appear under a completely different business name to help avoid unnecessary fraud disputes and late fees. The professional thing to do here would be to give me those late fees back.

Appointment was made efficiently within a very reasonable wait time , questions answered patiently . Check -in to their lovely Boulder office with parking out front was an extra bonus . I was originally hesitant that PAs do the routine visits but after an appointment with Brooke Lewis I was so glad I did this . Not only was her exam more thorough than I had gotten previously on an annual , she said she was a few minutes late coming in to the room as she WAS REVIEWING MY RECORDS !! Many times in other Drs offices I wondered why I bothered sending . I know her minor finding and on the spot treatment may have been overlooked elsewhere and could potentially be lifesaving . .. Most of the years normal stuff - pre- cancer. I just had a VERY severe reaction to medication and the most horrific hives that I thought was shingles. Went to the ER and was put on the wrong meds. misdiagnosed -my fault not the Docs, zoom call with my primary Doc. Was sent to get all of the wrong stuff for hives. Googled to find out the best doc for shingles and it said a dermatologist. Dr. Fueston go me in right away. I was in tears in his office due to pain.
