I had to search for a new dentist this year after my previous dentist told me they no longer take my insurance and only take cash. I did some research and found Desert Dental Spa. I went in for a cleaning, X-rays and exam. I had a wonderful experience. All the staff are super nice and professional. A perk is that they have same day crowns at this location. That is huge to me. Who wants to wear a temp crown for a week when you can get a crown made while you wait and installed same day. Don't need that now but glad to know it's available. The office is nice and clean. Plenty of parking out front. They take most insurances. I recommend you give them a try. read more

The dentist is great and I'm happy with the work that I had done. What I am not happy about is that the billing is different than what I agreed to. My scope of work was supposed to be $3,219.00 total with insurance covering some of that. It ended up being $4,634.00 leaving me with a balance 30 days later. They have much higher prices than what the insurance is willing to pay and they charge you for the difference. There are also charges that they are not upfront with you about on the initial treatment case that is signed. Things such as x-rays and consultations are not listed on there. I did not realize this was the case until it was too late. It is a shame because the staff was friendly and the dentist does good work. I just cannot go to a dental office where the amount charged varies that much from what is agreed upon without letting the customer know. read more

I was seen by Dr. Maisy in mid September, I used the VA (veterans administration) Dental Community Care Program which referred me. After my initial appt. with her 3 weeks ago, I had not heard back in order to schedule my several needed treatments, including a cracked crown and extraction. I NEVER heard back from Dr. Maisy and called her office manager today and they had no idea what was going on with my treatment plan and said they "would call me back" which they NEVER did. I have no idea what's going on at this dental practice, so I will now be forced to seek another dentist and also let the VA Dental outsourcing program to remove this non-responsive dentist from future referrals. Absolute worst treatment and quality of service. Her turn over of staff should have been my first red flag ...

It took 2 hours and 2 weeks of not sleeping on my left side and for swelling and bruising to go away. I've had many crown preps and root canals and my experience here with both was the worst! About a month and a half ago, I had a root canal on another tooth and it took 4 hours total between two visits! The wait time to be seen was always 30 minutes and twice I had to wait an hour to be seen. When I was told "only 5 more minutes " it really was another 30 min. The people are very nice and they have massage chairs along with the beautiful aesthetics and decor...BUT, that's not more important than having an office that values your time and doesn't harm you during what was supposed to be a somewhat simple procedure. Today I received my final crown and I will not be coming back. This was just my experience and perhaps most have had better luck. If it wasn't for those three things, long root canal job, painful tooth crown prep., and extended wait times, I would totally go back. read more

I've been coming to desert dental spa for many years and Dr. Maisy is one of the sweetest people I've ever met. She is an excellent dentist and very gentle while working. The staff is also very warm and welcoming, they greet you by name. I've never waited more than 2-3 minutes for my appointments, they call you back right away. Her office is very welcoming. I can honestly say, Dr. Maisy is the best dentist I have ever had. And here is a story for everyone. I was feeling very exhausted for some time. But I never suspected my teeth because they did not hurt at all. Dr. Maisy flagged a back molar crown to replace. Once she got into the tooth, it was quite decayed--even though I never felt any discomfort with it. Days after she replaced the old crown, I began to feel much better and my usual energy has now returned--I know it was from getting that back tooth fixed. Dr. Ibrahim made sure I felt no pain during the procedures, provided medication to ease the pain afterward, and recommended a night guard to protect against future damage from grinding my teeth as I sleep. I don't like writing reviews at all. I have been a patient for at least 2 years. The reason for this review is because until now I have only had minor dental work, but this week I had serious surgery. I was very negative and resitant about it. I knew I needed to get that done sooner or later but didn't want to deal with all the swelling, bleeding, pain, etc... Boy! I have to say, it really surprised me how well it went. The doctor prescribed me strong pain and antinflammatory medication, she did such a great job that i didn't even take anything after the anesthesia went away. I think I had at least 8 stitches, no pain, no bleeding and swelling only the first day. I have suffered more pain when I burn my mouth from very warm food. Honestly it was perfect. Desert dental spa is an amazing office! From the staff at the front desk to the staff in the back and Dr. Maisy! They are all wonderful! I was recently there for my routine check up and had a great visit. You have to fill out your patient paperwork online and their website is easy to browse. Filling out my paperwork online helped to be seen quicker since I didn't have to sit and fill out paperwork there at the office. Dr. Maisy is great and she's very thorough when explaining what treatment you will need. And the hygienist, Lori, is also very thorough with her cleanings! DO NOT GO HERE - I had a cleaning and x-rays done with the dental hygienist (who was lovely) and then was supposed to see the doctor to go over my x-rays but unfortunately she was "tied up". So I had to come back another time to discuss x-rays with her. Fine. When I came back I asked her to just do the fillings that same day. She couldn't do them because she had a "personal" appointment to go to. So I scheduled another appointment mid June to which they called me two days before to reschedule because she "hurt her leg". So I finally had my appointment today... waited an hour and 45 minutes (they numbed me so I'm sitting in the dentist chair waiting) for the hygienist to eventually tell me Dr. Maisy isn't feeling well and I'll have to reschedule. And they already charged me for fillings. Unbelievable. Taking my x-rays and never coming here again. So unprofessional you should not be practicing. Made my husband cancel his appointment you will not get our business. Wait time is 45 min and there is only one doctor. read more

Wow, where do I even begin. This is by far the worst dental practice I have ever been a paying patient at. Stay AWAY! I had a filling done by Dr. Maisy, which was done incorrectly. The bite and contact of the filling was not done properly, causing so much pain when I bit down or chewed food. Also, Dr. Maisy left a huge gap in between my teeth where the filling was, causing food to be impacted, and stuck. There was so much irritation, that my gums swelled. I had to have an emergency filling done from another dentist, which I potentially may have to have a root canal, due to Dr. Maisy's lack of care. On top of that, I had to pay out of pocket. I have been trying to get in touch with Dr. Maisy to discuss this matter. I emailed the practice, twice. No response. I called the office to discuss my emails. The receptionist had no idea what I was talking about. I finally got in contact with Wendy, who is a receptionist. She schedule a time for me to call Dr. Maisy. I called at that given time, and Dr. Maisy was "busy." I was supposed to get a call back in 15 minutes. Nothing. I called back 1.5 hours later. Laura answered, she had no idea what was going on. Laura mentioned Dr. Maisy would call back at the end of day, 5:30pm. I made sure I was available for a call at 5:30pm. No phone call. There is absolutely no respect for paying patients. It's like this is a laughing joke to this practice. Please, stay away from this practice. I am saving you time, money, and self respect. read more

Giving two stars because everyone is very nice, but at a certain point that doesn't really matter anymore. They do not value or respect your time. My first appointment went fine and I needed some fillings, so the dentist told them to schedule a whole hour for just me, with no other appointments at that time. Now I'm starting to think that was just for show because when my appointment time came, there were multiple clients there to be seen by the dentist and I was not seen for over an hour. Yes a whole hour! I know I should have just left, but I kept saying to myself "just wait 10 more minutes". After that I was number and she told me she would return in 15 minutes but comes back in 30 minutes. Taking more of my time. I decided to give them another chance, and specifically asked for the first appointment of the day so I wouldn't have to wait so long. I was taken back after about 10 minutes but not seen by the dentist for another 20 minutes... because she was finishing up with another client? I thought I had the first appointment but I guess not? And there was even a third client scheduled for the same time in the chair next to mine. So after numbing me she didn't return for 45 minutes because she was going back and forth. The numbing started wearing off during my fillings and I had to say something. It's a shame because they are all very nice, but I value my time and will not return. read more

This place is a ripoff. The front desk Manager Laura billed my dental insurance for a cleaning they never did. I went in as a new client and from the beginning I was very clear I just wanted my teeth cleaned from a previous hygienist that started working there part time. They the billing office and the office manager & hygenist had ulterior plans for my visit. They told me my X-rays were covered no charge as well as my cleaning. The hygenist was a scam took quick. It's wing X-rays and says she's having the doctor look at my teeth. I had just had full mouth X-rays done so I already knew what I needed done . The hygenist tells me she's not cleaning my teeth today it'll have to be another day. Before I leave completely confused with their BS they hand me estimated charges over $2,400 trying to SCAM ME. I use this word because they committed FRAUD and still billed my dental insurance for a cleaning I never had done and X-rays that weren't requested. After calling back the business manager trying to explain I had a secondary insurance that's when I caught on this dental office and their lack of customer service SUCKS. She "LAURA" never called back as she promised to confirm the secondary insurance or my appointment .Instead within 5 days she bills MetLife for fraudulent charges that they actually cleaned my teeth which is a LIE. I filed today with the insurance company. So if you have a desire to be ripped off and have dental work not needed this is the place for you! read more

My family has been seen by this dentist for over two years. We've tolerated being bullied into unnecessary procedures, canceled appointments, appointments made but not actually entered into their system all because our two adult children were finishing invisalign there. The doctor refuses to listen to concerns, blames the patient for fillings falling out, rather than accepting blame for poor work, and belittles patients. She speaks down to you, does crummy work, and tries to unwell everything. This doesn't feel like real dental care, more like a money grabbing scam. Bad experience with unprofessional dentist. My x-ray showed that I had a small cavity on the side of my crown and Dr. Maisy was insistent that I replace the crown. I found that my insurance would not cover replacing the crown because the crown was done less than 5 years ago. I wasn't having any pain in the area so I told her that I wanted to wait until my insurance would cover the replacement. Dr. Maisy then had a rude, condescending and demeaning attitude and said that she wasn't happy because she thought it should be replaced right now. She acted like I was beneath her because I couldn't afford to replace the crown and had to wait until my insurance would cover it.
