I moved permanently to LaQuinta from San Francisco and was looking for a new dentist. I went to Bella Smiles yesterday and it was a great experience. I had to have x-rays, a cleaning and dental exam. The office was clean and the staff very friendly and I really liked Dr. Rojas who seemed very genuine and knowledgeable. I have one issue with a tooth that he wants to keep an eye on but other than that all good. The hygienist recommended a waterpik to help with my flossing which I appreciated. My husband also went to Dr. Rojas and liked him as well. The office is a storefront in a strip mall which was a little different but I was able to pick up some groceries after my appointment! read more

Dr. Jaime Rojas is very professional. He never recommends any procedure unless it is required. He is conservative, thorough, and has a very pleasant manner. All of his assistants and dental hygienists are equally as professional, in addition to being very warm and putting patients at ease. Honestly, who likes going to the dentist...certainly not me. I moved away from my family dentist many years ago and I have had only ONE other dentist in 40 years that I liked as much as Dr Rojas. I feel very fortunate that my friend recommended him several years ago. My 90 year old mom will be moving here from the midwest and so Dr Rojas will be her new dentist. She has seen him a couple of times when she had an emergency. Again, he is gentle and thorough. I find his fees reasonable as well. IF you are looking for a new dentist, I highly recommend Dr Rojas and his team. No matter where you live in the Coachella Valley, they are all worth the drive!! read more

This dentist is not to be trusted. He recommended a crown procedure that would cost twice as much. I didn't trust him, went to another highly rated dentist in La Quinta and they said his procedure is old school and not used anymore. Hmmm, I'm done with being scammed. Got the procedure done at my new dentist. Just wait until you have something pricey needed. If you are a current patient get a 2nd opinion. read more

The office is extremely welcoming in decor as well as staff. The Hygienist was awesome. Dr. Rojas was thorough in his exam and spent whatever time I needed discussing my teeth, smile, and treatment. At this visit I didn't need any additional treatment but we did discuss some other issues surrounding spacing that's occurring in my teeth. He helped me understand what is causing it and what I could consider to remedy it. read more

Took 2 months to get appointment every week I got a text and email asking if I was still wanting the appointment I agreed to Then calls to again be sure I was going to show up. I was asked to download a bunch of pages to fill out pertaining to my health no problem but when I showed up they gave me even more papers to fill out I was new in town looking for a long term dentist for me and my family I wanted a friendly experience I didn't get it. When I asked why there was so long a wait for and so much paperwork they said that was their system I just canceled the appointment and left. Still looking for a good but friendly dentist that I don't have to wait months for an appointment. I found this dentist for my daughter as her dentist is still closed. She was so happy after her appointment and Dr. Rojas was very nice to me. I decided to make this my office too. I am way long over due for any dental care. I went today Everything was great. The hygienist Cassie was so amazing. She made me feel comfortable. Unlike other dentists that have tried to get a lot of additional expense from me, Dr Rojas reported no issues and I was scheduled for my next cleaning in 6 months. It's so crazy the bad reviews I'm reading. My daughter and I have been going to Bella smiles to see Dr. Rojas and the hygienist since 2014. We haven't had any issues. Before we moved to the Coachella Valley my daughter's previous dentist said she had some cavities we had to take care of when we moved. But when we went to see Dr. Rojas he said she was fine. He also recommended we see an orthodontist asap which was really good advice in hindsight because her teeth and jaw are growing much better now. The hygienist, Cassie is also amazing. I do not subscribe to Yelp, so I am using my daughter's as my forum to express my dissatisfaction with BELLA SMILES. I was searching for a new dentist, as mine had retired. A family member recommended that I visit Catherine for a teeth cleaning at BELLA SMILES. She was a wonderful and a thorough dental hygienist . However, I received a dental bill for $200.00! When my daughter called, without introducing herself, she asked how much a teeth cleaning would cost without insurance. They told her $110.00 max (she never paid more than $60.00 there when she went outside of her insurance). She asked if they accepted my insurance, (which is top of the line), they said, "yes". She asked how much an exam was (without X-ray - I did not receive an X-Ray) , they said, "$50.00". She informed them that she was my daughter, then inquired as to why I was charged the amount that I was when she only pays $60.00 a cleaning. They said, I was charged $110.00 for the cleaning without explanation as to why I was charged more for teeth in excellent condition. They told her my five minute first exam, without X-rays, was $50.00. The other $40.00 was not explained. Becky, at the front desk, said she would actively pursue the insurance. They had plenty of time to do so, before billing an erroneous amount to me. I can afford the amount, but it is the principle of the matter. As it turns out, my family has found this office to be dishonest more than once and my first visit was no acceptation. This was the last straw for them as well. I will never go to BELLA SMILES again, nor will my daughter, her mother , and my two grandchildren. This dishonesty has cost him five clients, plus two new clients (my wife's caregivers, who's dental care I provide). I would give them zero stars if it was an option. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else. read more

My 2 sons and I were way over due for exam and cleaning. This was our first time visiting this office. The front reception was clean. A flat screen TV had hgtv on. The office staff were cordial and efficient. The dental tech taking x-rays was very sweet also the dental hygienist. After visiting both ladies. I met with the dentist. He was very nice and said our teeth looked good. I have been scammed by many dentist in the coachella valley with shotty work and unnecessary procedures. This did not happen here. I hate going to the dentist, it ranks among my least favorite things to do. After being overseas for 6 months I decided to go in for a dental checkup. This dentist was close to my home and I decided to give them a shot. I scheduled a appointment, went in, filled out some paperwork, and was sitting in the chair within 10 minutes. Turns out I had a cavity, the dentist and his assistant were very nice and assuring the dentist injected me with Novocain and I did not feel a thing after that. I was in and out within an hour. Honestly the best dental experience I have ever had! On top of that the dentist gave me instructions on how to take the scenic drive to Vegas. It saved me a hour or so and was much more fun than just taking the I-15. I will definitely come back if I am back in the area. read more

I have had a very mixes experience withi Bella Smiles. - Some of the staff is very friendly / others should not be customer facing - Dr Rojas is very friendly and does good work but..... I went in for an appointment to remove the temporary crown and replace with a permanent one that Dr Rojas had made. When I got there he proceeded to tell me he had to numb me to place the crown. Seemed kind of strange. I've had other crowns and that step is pretty palnless but I said ok. He started to place the numbing gel on the opposite side of my mouth of the crown. When I asked why, he said it was for tooth #15. (My crown replacement was tooth #31 - opposite side) I stopped him to verify and he said he thought he was doing #15????? REALLY? He was going to work on another tooth and had no idea I was there to put the final crown on #31. I find that kind of attention to detail very disturbing and unfortunately will not be returing to Bella Smiles for work. read more

We were regularly seeing Dr. Rojas until last year when I had an incident with one of his hygienists. We decided not to go back to Dr. Rojas again. But, during the initial visits with Dr. Rojas, I had a post put in a tooth and then a crown over the post. This tooth was not an incisor and I needed to chew all my food on the left side of my mouth, in which I did. Two (2) weeks ago, I was eating a potato chip and all of a sudden I felt something in my mouth and the tooth Dr. Rojas posted and crowned fell out, post and all. I am truly mortified. I have the tooth and now must find another dentist to pay for his work that failed. The only satisfaction that I am currently experiencing is that I no longer am suffering pain from the tooth of which I had until the crown and post that just fell out! Dr. Rojas is a professional, but when I had the issue with the hygienist, he spoke to me as one of his employees and basically reprimanded me like an employee. That is why we did not go back but now I'm dealing with this issue because of Dr. Rojas. read more

I chipped a tooth again! Doctor was able to see me so i had an apt at 1pm. Went in early at 12:30 -- and was able to see me right away. replaced my filling with a new one and fixed chipped area -- was out the door at 1:05pm. I was amazed at how fast and painless it was. Truly amazing. I forgot that the last time i had a broken/chiped tooth -- thats how fast it was before. Everyone there was very nice as well! I'm writing this review to inform all that plan to use this dentist for anything other than a cleaning to be warned. This dentist does not have the knowledge or skills to perform extractions and probably other procedures that fall within an average dentist skill set. I had one of my molars on one side of mouth extracted by an oral surgeon and everything went well. Then I had a another molar extracted on other side of my mouth by Dr. Rojas. First, although under a local anesthesia I felt the extreme pressure and the digging he did in extracting my molar. He then crack the tooth because of the difficulty he had removing the tooth. Although under local anesthesia I felt pain. Weeks later still in severe pain not able to put any pressure on the tooth in front of the extraction, I contacted the dentist and all he could offer that I needed to give it more time. Well now its been 4 mouths and still no improvement. I still have extreme pain in the molar that is in front of the extracted molar. I would not recommend using this dentist. His ability probably does not extended beyond teeth cleaning read more

This dentist may be conducting fraudulent business because he would not provide copies of x-rays or even show them to his patient. The office people also stated that my daughter, who was visiting, had to be present to sign for her x-rays to be emailed to another dentist we chose to go to; they didn't want to assist us because we did not want any further service from them and they were upset or scared that the truth would be revealed and it was! This dentist also stated she had six cavities and the dentist we went to, out of town, found only two and fixed two. We spoke to some people, including the other dentist, and not much can be done because it is hard to prove what a dentist thinks a cavity is. In other words, they are protected and consumers aren't as protected. I know of someone else that went to this dentist at Bella Smiles and they had never had a cavity in their life and this dentist supposedly found one, drilled it, then admitted that he was taking precautionary measures to prevent future cavities, but that it wasn't really a cavity; and he couldn't show the cavity on the x-ray as well. My advice, is always ask to see the x-ray, seek reviews, get multiple checks from various doctors, and don't go in unless you are in pain because I believe the cleanings dentists conduct wipe away the natural tooth enamel, which leaves your teeth vulnerable. read more

I'm new to town. I've tried two other dentists and they were more intent on selling me additional services rather than making sure the services I requested were exactly what I wanted. I had the best cleaning EVER by Cathy and when it was time to meet the dentist I was ready to hear that if I didn't replace all of my old fillings and old crowns my head would spin and I'd lose my teeth. To the contrary, the doctor was kind, honest and I'm actually looking forward to my next appointment. I got some good advice from Cathy how to improve my hygiene and how to help my one area of concern. I'm nearly 68, have all my teeth and I intend to keep them. I'm very serious about taking care of my mouth, but I don't need to have a complete makeover either. I assure you, when it is time to replace fillings and crowns, I will definitely go to Dr. Rojas. I recommend this dental office 100%. You will not be disappointed. read more
