I had a crown come off yesterday and was referred to Cros Dental. What a game changer in dental care. The staff is friendly, listened to my predicament when I called in and had the ability to fit me in today. They took the time to guide me into filling out the forms online so they had all my dental and health information. I know this is not something you wait on because our teeth shift with time and adjust accordingly. When I arrived, the staff greeted me, and made me feel like they have known me forever. This took my dental fear from a 5 to a Zero. I was then assisted back by the Dental Assistant who was absolutely lovely and asked all the relevant questions, took every precaution on what was below the crown to make sure all was protected. Dr. Cros came in and did a thorough follow up, talked with me about health history, family and gave me the good news he could adhere the crown because the tooth was not damaged, and nor was the crown. I was thrilled. I also asked him to do a Cancer check in my mouth while I was there. He was happy to oblige. I've been going to Dr. Cros for over a year now and I am a very satisfied patient. They have top-of-the-line technology which makes everything relatively seamless. Dr. Cros and his dental assistants are so kind and caring. They are always extremely accommodating and go the extra mile to ensure that the patient is comfortable. His assistants have a great sense of humor and provided some much needed comedic relief when i was nervous before a root canal. I recommend this dentist and now I regret it! My kids went to this dentist, my mother, and a handful of friends. Within a few weeks, or months the fillings fell out., or Cavities formed underneath their fillings. All the money I paid on top of insurance and they had to be redone. Oh this dentist will come on this Yelp post and say everyone that went to him that I knew had bad teeth to start with lol but the bottom line is you use old filling mixture and don't know how to properly do teeth period. So go back to school and learn your job correctly sir. Been coming to this place for the last 3 years despite having to endure their constant up-selling practices: so annoying.. They want to charge 75 dollars more after a cleaning for the doc to poke his head in and spend 35 seconds looking at your teeth after the cleaning.. Worst was my hygenist left... She was the only reason i stayed there.. they didn't tell me she left and instead pawned me off to this over chatty rookie who wouldn't shut up for a minute and who had no idea how to clean a set of teeth... Find yourself another dentist. My name is Betsy Patterson and I recently had a consultation and dental X-rays with Mr. Cros...the husband of this husband and wife dental team. There are lots of wonderful and honest dental practices in the Valley, but this is not one of them. Upon reviewing my X-rays Doctor Cros recommended two fillings and an additional root canal consult, but guess what I did not need either of those things. Upon recommendations from friends and co-workers I consulted with two additional dentists, and both gave me a clean bill of dental health. Fair enough. $110.00 Then every single time afterwards regardless if you want the X-rays or not $ 75 up charge plus cleaning.Non negotiable! No referral discount for any new patients. Mentioned to Daisy at front desk their website prices do not match the price they charged me. Oh will have to look into that. They charge higher prices than LA dentist or Beverly Hills and work is certainly not any better. Very impressed with Dr. Ray Cros and his knowledge, credentials and training. Also he is also very nice. But at every corner there was an up sale. I am 68 and have never missed a 6 month cleaning in 63 years, therefore having considerable experience and being very consistent in my dental care. I heard the Cros dental ads on the radio and thought I would try them out. Again, so impressed with Dr. Ray Cros. Every time and i mean every time i went in for an appointment (cleaning, tooth extraction, implant consult) there was an up charge on something! I needed a deep cleaning. Nope, my old dentist said just a regular cleaning needed. More and more X-rays on each visit, This office charges you up front and they tried to charge me for an unasked for tooth whitening. The up charges and up sales just went on and on. Red flags for me. Not sure if I will continue in this practice. Trust is just as important the dentist's skill level. read more

My experience is Cros dental was most focused on my wallet rather than performing good dental care. They kept trying to up-sell me on procedures I didn't need. After voicing my dissatisfaction, they sent me a letter stating they wouldn't treat me further. I was able to find a competant dentist and won't return to Cros dental. New to the Coachella Valley and had a filling fall out. I went to Cros Dental for a consult and saw Dr. Ray, who seemed like a nice guy and was told that I could get a new filling but that a crown would be better as I had a crack in the tooth. I opted to get a crown but in hindsight, I should have just had the tooth filled. The staff said that they didn't have any way to submit anything to Delta Dental??? So if I wanted to have this done, I would have to make it happen as they weren't going to assist me. I found out that it was coded as a cosmetic procedure. I called and asked why it was considered cosmetic given the tooth had a crack in it. I did not get much help from the staff other than they told me that Delta Dental would not cover it. I called Delta Dental and explained the situation and they said that they would cover it. I went to get the tooth prepped and requested gas for the procedure as I had other crowns and needed it to get through it. The novocaine shot I was given was extremely painful. As I have had shots many times before, I know this doesn't have to involve any pain in administering a shot. The gas cost $150 and never reached a level to make it worthwhile as they had it set extremely low. I asked several times to turn it up as I didn't need to be present as the ground down the tooth to prep for a crown, but they just ignored me. I dislike writing a bad review, but if you are looking for pain-free gentle dentistry with a helpful staff, I recommend looking elsewhere. read more

OMG! What amazing customer service. The whole office must be on laughing gas because they are all happy and nice. I was new to the area and asked a co-worker if they knew an amazing dentist, she recommended Cros Dental. I wish I had them years ago. The dentist to me is a scary experience, but they took that feeling away the moment I sat down. They made me feel comfortable, calm and told me jokes as they carefully worked on my teeth. The reminders are wonderful, as I forget everything and write down nothing. Always willing to work me in, when they say we'll put you on the cancellation list they really do. And they NEVER try and sell me products I don't need. This is truly a business others should take a page from. BEWARE As a recent LA transplant I visited this dental practice on the recommendation of a friend who liked the dental hygienist, unfortunately my visit needs to be shared as a cautionary tale. You will find this office to be pleasant and efficient upon entry, full of nice updated decor, state-of-the-art equipment, and accommodating staff...but all of that staff and equipment needs to be paid for and that attention to the bottom line appears to be making the husband, of this husband and wife team, overly aggressive for his next sale. After taking x-rays (which the dentist said he recommended every six months) the dentist told me that I needed 2 or possibly 3 fillings and a possible root canal. I am very conscious of my daily dental hygiene, and have my teeth cleaned every 3-4 months as well as annual dental X-rays. I haven't needed a filling in well over a decade. I left the office without booking the recommended appointments and headed out, along with my recent dental X-rays for a 2nd or 3rd opinion. The next dentist I saw had to take 2 additional X-rays (because the first set was more like "pictures" rather than in-depth X-rays) and determined that there was zero evidence that I needed the recommended dental procedures. The 3 teeth that "needed to be filled" were in fact minor stains that were easily cleaned away. And that possible root canal...NOPE, no evident of infection or lesions. Also X-rays are recommended once NOT twice per year. Another friend also went to Cros Dental and was told he need three crowns. He received two additional opinions, and both doctors said he did not need the work. Wow! My advice to you, stay far, far away from Cros Dental. read more

I'm new to the area and was looking to establish care with a trustworthy dentist. A coworker recommended Cros Dental. I wasn't having any issues, I just needed my routine clean/check. Going to a new dentist is always nerve racking because never know what to expect or if new work ($$$) is going to be recommended. I had my first visit a few months ago and my experience was positive. The front desk was exceptional, very friendly and helpful. I had X-rays, a thorough cleaning by the hygienist, and an examination by Dr Cros. All the staff I encountered were professional and friendly. I read other reviews that said Dr Cros recommended unnecessary work, but that's wasn't my experience. I'm in the area on vacation and I chip my temporary crown (omg~), and was getting all kinds of sensitivity b/c of it. I checked yelp to find a dental office nearby. This place came up with good reviews. It was a little pricey for what I'm used to, but I can't compare since I don't know what the norm in the area is. They receptionist was okay, although I was pretty grumpy going in considering the circumstances. The doctor was amazing!! She was SO nice and gave me a break in the price since it was such a small chip. I did end up buying the their in-house insurance to get the discounted price (which came out to be cheaper than the full price). Too bad I don't live in the area! The staff was super professional! Fantastic! Was visiting the area for a few days, when my crown popped off 2 days before Veteran's Day, of course, at 4pm. I frantically called 4 of the closest dentists based on GPS & no one could accommodate me for at least 1-wk. I wasn't going to be staying that long... I needed someone fast. Called a few more who were already gone for the day or going to be closed through VDay, according to their recorded messages. So, I glared at my uncooperative crown with disdain (it's caused me enough pain, misery & hard earned dollars as a bad ex-boyfriend), put it in my pocket & thought I'd figure it out later. Next day at noon, I called Drs. Cros' office & they told me he could see me at 2pm. I was a bit trepidatious cuz I didn't ask about price, have no health insurance & their offices are state of the art, lovely & in Rancho Mirage... all the ingredients leading towards a no-Christmas-present year. Turns out, I didn't need to worry. The front desk staff is ace... calm, cool, collected, friendly, professional. When she handed me a computer tablet & asked me to fill out 7-9 pages, I panicked & was thinking I should have waited to find a low priced dentist who could just slap some glue & duct tape on my crown & hammer it back in for $50 with the blunt end of a screw driver. She then asked if I wanted to take advantage of some sort of special... long story short, my visit would have been $100+ extra, but the deal included the exam & any xrays he needed to do (as it turned out, he had to do 1/2-dozen). It was very nice they told me about it, considering I was at their financial mercy. Dr. Cros was great. I'm a very nervous patient because I've been physically hurt several times in the past by unskilled or brand new dentists, so he was patient, told me what he planned to do while being very conservative & even answered a few questions I've gotten conflicting info about from other dentists. The main thing is he didn't try to upsell me with additional treatments & his staff is very respectful, not asking personal q's at breakneck speed that I usually encounter in dr's offices, which only serves to make me more nervous 'til I snap & beg them to leave me alone. Better still, he used an adhesive which solidifies in 5-min. Truth is, 2-mos before, that same crown popped out in FL & I had it glued in for 1/2 the price ($100) but told it would fully solidify in 48-72 hrs & well, oops, it didn't last 6-wks. I'm much more hopeful it will last this time. If I'm ever in the area again, I'd definitely return to his practice & wouldn't hesitate to recommend him to anyone. 5* out of 5. read more

I have been getting my teeth cleaned for several decades (i'm over 60) this is the first time a dentist did a follow up appointment with me after a deep cleaning.. The price they quoted me for the deep cleaning was a little less than other area dentist, but it was the scheduling that worked out for me. So i go in for the followup and they do a polishing and also touched up( re-cleaned a few teeth..) i fully expected to pay for the follow up appointment but it was N/C.. I fully recommend this Dental Office. the really care about the patient and make sure the work is done right.. What a totally different experience to what i was used to getting in LA.. I have been going here for several years with much appreciation for their customer service. My last visit did not go as well. I have no dental insurance so several months ago I took out their own in house policy which gives discounted services including cleaning. My last visit I did not want x-rays but was told with the teeth cleaning I also had to have a check up for $99. The cleaning was $135 (with their insurance). My husband gets his teeth cleaned at a periodontist for $140 so not sure if their insurance is worth it. The check up for $99 was about 2 minutes long and consisted of just looking in my mouth. I'm thinking I will look around for a more competitive dentist. read more

Wow! I have never had such a pleasant experience at the dentist. I, like most people, generally hate going to the dentist and find it borderline unbearable, but this was a completely new experience. First off, the receptionists were friendly, kind and helpful. The equipment seems to be state of the art, and I was surprised I could get my x-rays without leaving my chair, which helped alleviate some anxiety. I was especially impressed with the assistant Nina, who guided me through my x-rays and helped with my cleaning, and her kindness and friendliness. It also surprised me that Dr. Sheri Cros herself performed the cleaning. I have always had my cleaning performed by a hygienist, and I was very impressed by this. Usually the dentist comes in afterwards. Dr. Cros has an excellent bedside manner, a great sense of humor, and is very knowledgable about her field. I really get the sense she loves her job.
