The majority of the stars this review is getting is for the dental assistant Sonjay. He was very attentive and understanding. You can tell he loves his job and works hard. The main dentist, Sally/Dr. Kim (female), could be a little more welcoming, understanding and compassionate regarding concerns. Other than that, I appreciate the front office staff and their follow up regarding specific matters. The office is also very clean and sanitary. read more

Me and my husband are patients here we both had pleasant visits in the past but today just might have been my last straw. Never have I ever had someone speak to me the way Cynthia did and that I do not appreciate and will not stand for. My husband has a medical condition and I not only am I his wife but also his caregiver she refused to tell me anything regarding his treatment and appointments and what he had paid $200 for and gave me such attitude and was very rude but had no problem taking my money ! Dr. Chong is amazing! He was so patient with my severe TMJ and trauma from a previous experience with a different dentist. He spoke encouragingly to me the entire time and gave me short breaks so I could massage my jaw. I recently moved to the high desert from riverside and needed a dentist, and saw this was the best rated dental office up here. If this is the BEST rated Dental Office up here than I don't what to think. The longest thing at my appointment was the x -rays, the cleaning was only five minutes, five fucking minutes, you can't do a proper cleaning in five minutes. The dental hygienist didn't even do a probe test. The dentist tried to tell me I needed a deep cleaning, and a crown to replace an old filling and the hygienist was trying to tell me, after I asked her if she was going to do the probe test, that the probe test was for after the deep cleaning. I swear I think I was dumb, that's not what a probe test is for. I did not trust any of their diagnosis, so I got a second opinion, back in riverside, and it turned out I was right not to trust their opinions, I did not need a deep cleaning, my gums are pretty much healthy majority are 2 and 3 mm (which is 1-3 mm are an indicator of healthy gums,) some 4s mm do too a lot of plaque and Tatar build up, in some areas; but I do not need a deep cleaning, what I need is just an additional cleaning to get the plaque and tartar off but not a deep cleaning. And I DO NOT need a crown, it can be replace with a filling. This place just wants to charge you unnecessary procedures for your money. read more

If I could give ZERO stars I would!! I let these people put my card on file for automatic payments. They said they would call me with an appointment time for my upper and lower crown. I never got a call however month after month they continue to charge my card. I keep calling to have this removed and they keep saying they're going to stop the charges. The first payment was charged, keep in mind no work and no call to even schedule the work has been done, they said it would be cancelled and refunded. NEVER GOT THE REFUND!!! Month 2 I have been charged another $215. I have spoken to JOANNA MULTIPLE TIMES, who always says she's going to fix it. I call they say she'll call back or can they take a message, same thing with the office MANAGER. So get this I call to make a corporate complaint and this woman had the nastiest attitude, when I asked for a supervisor she transferred me to the call center. I called back and the same lady answered and refused to give her name, said her supervisor isn't available and that's she's going to end the call. THIS IS THE PERSON HANDLING GRIEVANCES. I would never ever recommend this company or office to anyone, and I will ensure NONE OF MY FAMILY WILL CONTINUE TO USE YOUR SERVICES. read more

When we first moved to Hesperia we went to one dentist in town and had problems with their work so I am glad we found Desert Dentist. Both my wife and I have had work done by a wonderful dentist, Dr. Lee and we recommend him to anyone. He is very nice to us. He is careful and thorough. We like that he is patient with us and listens to our questions. Then he explains everything in plain language. Also some doctors in the high desert seem to have problems with their office staff. My first two visits have been very good! I am normally very nervous about going to the dentist but the dentist Dr. Sally Kim and her whole staff were wonderful! I did get a very good consultation from Dr. Sally and found out that all I needed was to have a maintenance cleaning. For the cleaning and polishing I found and polishing everyone was quite personable and made the experience comfortable. Also this office did not try to sell me expensive procedures as another dental office did. I now have a new dentist. read more

I used to go here when Dr Mowrey owned it... In fact I started using them in 1995... Loved Dr Mowrey, I stayed with the office even when he semi retired... I tried a couple of the fill in dentists and was not impressed.... They always tried saying I had a cavity or I needed a root canal or something... I started only coming when Dr Mowrey was on even if I had to book way in advance. He always told me NO I didn't need any of that work done.... When Dr Mowrey finally retired all the way I stopped using this place because I found them very dishonest. All they wanted to do was say things were wrong just to make more money... I did find a new place recently called Hospitality Dental and found the same kind of honest dentists that I had with Dr Mowrey.... Dr Mowrey I miss you, but I hope you are enjoying retirement....... Update..... This dental office just called me to see what they could do about my review. They did assure me that the new owner was not there when I last used them about 5 years ago, I guess I did see a family member of the new owner... BUT they did assure me that they were no longer there... Since I have not seen the new owner I will adjust my review accordingly.... I will give them a 3 since they reached out to me with kindness... There is never a wait time with this place from the time you sign in you get brought right back to get X-rays and see the dentist immediately and treatment is done right way. Dr. Eugenie Kim is so conscientious and kind. She encouraged me about a filling I had to have redone due to a defect (from another dentist at a totally different location) - that it would be a simple procedure and it was! She even had one of her assistants call me the day we scheduled it to let me know how much it was going to cost. The day I got it redone she was very reassuring and professional, gentle and quick. She even counseled me about which numbing agent she would use (if I wanted her to - and I did), how long it lasts and that it was the safest choice for pregnant and nursing women. I also had the problem of raspberry and blackberry seeds getting stuck (like for two hours) in this one little crook of a filling. She fixed it and made sure my bite was unaffected. I am SO. VERY. RELIEVED. Painless and pleasant! :) My usual reason for visiting is to see the absolute BEST dental hygenist on the planet (my husband and I actually agree ;), Michelle!!! I do not recommend this Dentist. If I could give minus stars I would. If they cannot sell you anything they will not even tell you the truth about your teeth. I called because I was having pain with eating cold food. They took x-rays of all my teeth (because insurance pays for that) Then sat me in a chair and told me I needed a crown. The most expensive crown I have ever heard of. Triple anywhere else. When I refused they said my insurance covered removing the tooth. Then the dentist left the room and another lady came in and said my teeth needed a "deep Cleaning" for $650.00. There's expensive and then there's the we don't want your business and get out price. I immediately went to another dentist and he was a honest person and without an x-ray, showed me that my tooth was cracked and I would need a root canal and a crown. I can't imaging not telling your patient your tooth was cracked. He did it and made a porcelain crown a week later all for $800 cash. Stay tuned for his review. Oh yeah I forgot. The other dentist i went to said my teeth did not need a deep cleaning, I don't have tartar built up like Desert Dentist said. He charges $98 bucks! Desert Dentist saved me $1000 yesterday. I had dislodged a gold crown on Sunday. Monday I took it back to the dentist in Apple Valley who had installed it and they told me that they could not put it back in place because it would not fit. They were going to charge me $1175 to install a new crown. I went to Desert Dentist the next day and they pulled the cracked wisdom tooth that was located next to the tooth that needed the crown and of course my original crown fit perfect. So for $185 I had a broken wisdom tooth, that I should have had extracted when I was 18, removed and my crown reinstalled. This was all done with no pain. Dr. Eugenie Kim was so gentle that I never even realized I was receiving a shot until my tongue began to go numb. I was also impressed with the caring attitudes of the entire staff. Office manager Stephanie Cervantes explained all of my financial options in a way that was very easy to understand and was so helpful. Since leaving the office yesterday, I have recommended Desert Dentist to my sister and both nieces, a friend and my Mom. I would highly recommend Desert Dentist to anyone. read more

Before my visit to Desert Dentist, it had been at least a decade before my last dental checkup. Like a lot of others, I have a bit of a fear of having dental work done. I called in to have x-rays, a cleanup, and have a chipped tooth fixed, and during my visit learned that I had three additional cavities that needed to be filled. They were able to take care of all of that in just over two hours - no additional appointments necessary! Dr. Lee is precise, efficient, and gentle in his work, and Stephanie was abundantly helpful and kind in answering all of my questions. Overall I have been happy with the service here. Slightly over priced, but I needed a dentist close to home and they had good reviews so I went with it. The young lady that did my xrays was fantastic. Friendly, knew what she was doing, and sensitive to my situation. The dentist was also very good, not very talkative, and to be honest I expected a little more interaction / instruction from him. Instead I got the run down from the assistant, which is fine I guess, but would have liked to ask the doc a few questions. The office manager, when I first came in gave off a lot of nervous energy, and rightly so, when it came time to go over the game plan, she had tacked on every little extra possible. The invoice seemed inflated and immediately made me un-easy. Being a patient with NO insurance, and having just applied for care credit in her office, you'd think she have the forethought NOT to tack on the $160 tooth brush! On my second visit I had a deep cleaning, another extraction and received a partial. The dental hygienist was great! She did a wonderful job and was very attentive. Again the dentist was great, but gave me almost no instructions the partial, something completely foreign to me! Neither did his assistant whom was also uprepared during the procedure, having to be asked several times for things the dentist needed. The office manager this time around seemed much calmer, however she did ask me to leave a "positive review online". Stating that most of thier customers find them that way, as did I. I normally don't take the time to leave reviews but felt compelled to leave an " honest" one. Overall a good experience, with a few major disappointments. I would recommend this office, as long as your prepared do do a little research on your aftercare needs, and you pay CLOSE attention to what's on the bill! read more

This office does not care about the dental health of their patients. We have been their patients since 2018. On Feb 01, 2019 I called to make an appointment telling them that I had a toothache but could not get in until Feb 19. As my pain worsened I called back informing them that I had a root canal done in that same tooth several months earlier due to an abscess. I requested to be seen on an emergency basis but was denied because Liz their receptionist stated "they were too busy". I then asked if they could send a referral to the endodentist as per my insurance request she simply replied" No we have to see you before we could send a referral". I let her know about my concern of the potential serious complications associated with the delayed diagnosis and treatment of a failed root canal she stated " call back tomorrow for any cancellation because we are booked until April". In short, if you are concerned about your dental health and want to be treated in a timely fashion please avoid this office. If you like to be treated disrespectfully by bureaucratic people or to suffer serious complications due to their intentional and delayed diagnosis and treatment then go there. read more
