My garage door stopped working when I was rushing to go out of town. I called Desert Overhead garage door and Monique answered. She walked me through things to do to trouble shoot the problem. She had Martin out within the hour to check it out. He figured it out in minutes. Made an appointment to come back out on Friday when i was back in town. The appointment was 8-10 am and he showed up at 8 am. Motor replaced in an hour. This couldn't have gone better. I highly recommend them and will be using them for garage door maintenance. I never write reviews... seriously. But I needed to write one for these guys. I bought a new house and both of the single car garage door openers weren't working. Got a quote from another local repair service. They said I needed a new door and two new openers. Pretty big quote. Thought I should get a second opinion. Called these guys based on the reviews. Martin showed up on time (which is worth 4 stars alone these days). Was friendly and got right to work. Had both doors fixed and working within an hour or so. No new door. No new openers/motors. One of the openers might be 20+ years old so they could have easily sold me a new opener and didn't. It's becoming more rare to find good, honest service professionals these days. They saved me thousands of dollars. I can't recommend them enough. When the time comes for me to get a new door or opener (or both), they will be my first, and last, call. read more

Our second try at using this business was a far different and worse experience than the first. I needed to have a broken spring repaired and I also wanted a bid on a new door system. They asked some questions on the phone and said they had the parts needed for the repair in stock. The technician came out to look at it and then said they had to order the parts and would provide a bid. He said he would get back to us in a few days when the parts came in. That was the last I heard from them and that was over three weeks ago. I eventually got tired of waiting and hired another company to do the work. I would not recommend this company. read more

We contacted this business at the height of COVID-19. The owner was extremely responsive but careful about having an appointment which I appreciated. We scheduled one for the same day and he gave us his full attention. We didn't feel rushed, he answered every single question, and gave us full disclosure about every product that was introduced. That same day we decided to move forward with one of his offerings. He scheduled delivery and installation exactly one week later which was refreshing because other retailers were telling us that we had to wait 4-8 weeks for delivery. His team arrived and they installed so quickly. The installers were on time, neat and clean, and they cleaned up after themselves. They also took our old garage door with them for disposal. Wow! I'm so happy! I messaged the business late in the day & Monique promptly responded. She asked me a few good questions to get an idea of the possible diagnosis. Horrible customer service. After scheduling an appointment for a garage door that wouldn't open or close, a service tech came out, made a few minor adjustments and got it working. He literally spent 5 mins on the door. Unfortunately, the next morning the garage door wouldn't open or close again. I called the company and left a message. No return call. I called again and left a second message. No return call. I called a third time and left another message. NO return call. This company is happy to take your money but doesn't ensure their repairs were adequate, doesn't stand behind their work, and then fails to return numerous calls. I feel ripped off. Desert Overhead Door did some work for me in 2015 at my old house and I remembered being very happy with their work and customer service. So when I needed their services again I didn't hesitate to call. Once again they came through quickly and at a good price. It turns out they installed all the garage doors for the builder who originally built our housing complex. So they were familiar with the setup since they installed it. By the way, there was no mechanical defect, just an obstruction in the garage that caused the cable to jump the pulley. read more

First company went on about how old the system was- estimate $775.00 to replace pull up motor and tune up doors, rollers, etc. Desert overhead came out- replaced broken traveler and provided two new remotes for $210.00. I looked through Yelp and seeing so many positive reviews decided to call Hanson Overhead. Brody was very helpful and worked with me to be able to get to work Monday morning. He placed me 1st on the service list. Martine showed up shortly after 8am. A really nice guy. Turns out my garage door itself was broken! Instead of leaving me to deal with a unfixed, broken door he secured a metal bar across the area of the door that was bowing and wala, more than a band-aid, giving me the time needing to deal with installing a new one. Called twice in 2. 5 hours and did not receive a call back. Called at 10:19 am and left a message Called at 12:43 pm and left a second message. At 1:15 pm gave up and called someone else. I did expect to get a call by lunch. On the message, I explained our garage door was stuck open and we desperately needed help.
